Great little item!

It's not the smallest USB Device going, but it is one of the best. Able to ready all the pupular types of cards, including MicroSD WITHOUT using a converter! The device is a dream. The case opens up both sides to reveal slots for memory cards to fit in, plug yours in, close it up and then plug the unit into an spare USB port and bingo - simple as that!

Mine is connected through a 4-port unpowered USB hub (as all my USB ports are at the back on my PC and the hub gives me easy access to four more), fast read/write speeds. Vista Ultimate had no problem reading my 4GB MicroSD card from my PDA. Even when connected with my standard 8Gb usb Memory stick, the device worked like a dream copying direct from MicroSD to USB Stick.

If you want a simple, easy Memory card reader (and a portable one at that) you can do a LOT worse than get this. It is a winner in terms of price, speed, looks & fuctionality. You will NOT BE DISAPOINTED!!!

Mostly impressed

In comparison to the Sandisk Cruzer 2.0GB I'd been previously using, there are pros and cons to this drive.
On the minus side, the drive is way larger than the Snadisk. I'm not convinced by the need for all the rubber protection, these things are pretty much bomb-proof anyway (certainly the Sandisk was pocket-proof after the odd periodic removal of stray lint), so it's bigger and more awakward than it needs to be.
On the plus side - and the reason for buying it, after reading the other reviews here, and in preference to the 8,16 and 32GB drives - it is properly fast. Write speed is waay faster than the Sandisk, and writing hundreds of MBs of data to the drive is nowhere near the toil it used to be.

The only other downsides are the cost and shipping. It got such a good write-up, I bought 2 - one as a scratch disk and one to use as a fairly permanent store of important data. Price was great, but the shipping was rubbish in two respects. Firstly, the shipping cost entirely negated the cheap advertised price of the drive, but secondly- worst of all - this price was indicative of the source of the sender. Germany. Which meant I had to wait a week for the flipping things to arrive and, having rashly given my daughter the Sandisk for school and having allowed the boss to swipe my other one for a customer demo, I was without portable storage for an uncomfortable week.
Yes, my own fault, totally admit it, but it would be so much nicer if Amazon got a stock of the things in stock, so we could get reasonable delivery prices and times. Sadly, this is the same case for the vast majority of the drives advertised on Amazon.

WAfter all that, the burning question is"Would I buy another?" Definitely. It could be better, but the speed/price ratio is unbeatable and, if you must play rugby with the thing, it's suitably rugged.

Excellent Product

I lost my 2GB card and after I upgraded my Xda Exec to Windows Mobile 6 I decided to buy this one. works like a dream and gives the kind of bandwidth I never had. The best thing is that you can simply use the adapter and plug it into a USB port, simply great to trasfer music quickly.

I would recommend - 2 memory cards for £9.50 much cheaper than Argos (£19.99 for one!). Fast delivery and reasonable postage and packing costs - unlike some other sellers.

Great Value Card Reader

To date, I've used this card reader to read both CF cards and microSD cards and the transfer speed is impressive: transferring a mixture of JPEG and RAW images from a 4GB (133x) CF card took less than four minutes, which is about 18MB/sec.

The device appears on your PC as five removable drives, one for each of the card slots, and it was quick to recognize and load the cards that I tested.

The only slight weakness is that the built in USB connector is on a very short lead, which may not prove practical if your USB ports aren't located near the front of your PC/laptop. However, an extension lead is provided with the card reader, so this isn't really an issue: just an extra cable to carry around with you.

All in all, given the price, portability and performance of the device, I'd have to say that it's excellent value for money and highly recommended.

i had this flash memory back in few months ago ,
it was cost me £18.50 with delivery but it worth it every penny
if you want to have some nice and cheap memory this is for you
i personally i had no problems what so ever .
i recommend to you as i did for my friends .

Fantastic!

This is fantastic as a point and shoot camera - the picture quality and colour reproduction is excellent, at last a compact that produces reds accurately! The 28mm wide angle zoom is very useful and it takes cracking pictures just by using auto mode. It fits in your pocket and is great for handing to your 5 year old and letting them express their photographic creativity, as you don;t have to worry about it getting damaged. This has given me very satisfying underwater shots, sunsets, landscapes, action scenes e.g sports day, kids running about and indoor scenes. The only two minor niggles I have are that the image stabilser is digital rather than optical so can't be used in all modes and I would have liked some control over aperture and shutter speed. Still, I am happy to live without these as everything else about this camera is brilliant. I must also add that its macro mode is A*, focussing correctly first time capturing all the colour and detail your eye can see for close ups of flowers etc. Hard to be anything other than very happy with this; and that's coming from someone who makes picking holes in things an art form.

MEMORY CARD WILL NOT WORK AT ALL WITH MY SAMSUNG CAMERA

I have a Samsung SGH 600 and this card will not work at all with it.the camera will not even turn on with it in.i have tried it with a friends camera (the same model) and it does not work either,it may be that it isnt formatted,but as you cant evn turn it on you cant find out.a big thumbs down from me!!!!!

Postal charges? Try and get it cheaper!!

I agree with previous comments that the postal charges are a rip-off. However,I recently shopped around at a large shopping mall outside Bristol
for sd cards and the cheapest 1G sd cards was more than £13 and the 2G card was over £24. So for a card under £1 and postage around £5 you are still getting a bargain. And it only took 2 days to arrive.

I have to agree with Mastervoda (the review below). Unless you own a serious camera which can benefit from the Extreme VI, I'd stick with the reasonably priced Extreme III. I purchased the Extreme VI (8GB) and noticed no difference over the III when it came to shooting at high speed or, taking long exposure shots which can sometimes take a while to write onto the card.

No microSDHC to SD adapter in this package

Despite the explicit advertising of the necessary adapter to fit into a SD slot, there is none in this package. Please send me one now!
