It does what it's designed to do, offering stylish protection for my memory cards. There is nothing major I can fault about the card holder itself. It's compact, well built, gives you easy access when you need it, while remaining shut when you don't, and honestly it looks pretty professional and rather neat.
Like other reviewers have rightfully mentioned it would have been good if the card holder was dust and or waterproof. But the only real failing is that it isn't exactly good value for money. Nearly fourteen pounds at time of ordering seems a bit extreme. For that reason I cannot award this product five stars. But still I suppose the price is reasonable when compared to the cost of losing a memory card along with its contents. So still a good purchase and one I'm glad I made.

A worth while investment
After losing one of my secure digital memory cards, I decided that it was time to invest in some proper storage for them. Strangely enough I discovered that there isn't actually a great variety of products designed for this purpose. Maybe I was looking in the wrong places, but I could only find this Lowepro memory card holder and a SanDisk one. Nevertheless I decided to buy this one and for the most part I'm very happy with it.It does what it's designed to do, offering stylish protection for my memory cards. There is nothing major I can fault about the card holder itself. It's compact, well built, gives you easy access when you need it, while remaining shut when you don't, and honestly it looks pretty professional and rather neat.

Swap USB lead
Unit installed on XP Home without problem, but reading cards was 'hit and miss'. Obviously not worth returning as unit cost £1.99; clever ruse to make profit from £5.90 postage! HOWEVER, replacing supplied USB lead with spare and unit now works well - seen as an external disc drive! ;)26

The Digital camera produces an error"Memory Card Locked" even if the card's lock is off.
The card works fine thou when attached to a computers USB port.
Did some research and found a number of forums about this issue.

I brought one of these to replace the cheep and nasty one that came with my PC and has reciently failed after very light use.( I don't know why PC makers fit cheap rubish on a £600 - £800 PC when amazon can sell this at a profit for under £5 ??? )

I went to buy two of these cards as the price looked great. When I got to the check out £9 was added for postage so I cancelled. These things weigh hardly anything and will fit in an envelope!! I know handling etc has to be added but that's taking the mickey.34

XP sees it as a number of separate disc drives hence I now have drives H to K on my machine! Not a problem, but it's not immediately clear which slot is which!
One the down side, the one I was delivered had a couple of bent pins on the CF card slot. These are exposed to damage in the packaging. 5 minutes with a fine screwdriver and pair of pliers solved the problem but it wasn't a good start. These should really be protected better.
Connecting the USB wire was a bit of a faff because the plug can be fitted to the reader either way. Needless to say I got it on the wrong way first time. This could be better too as it would be simple to fit a plug that will only fit one way. Not a problem, just read the instructions very carefully.
There is a small red LED on the front to show it's powered up and a green flashing one when in use.

Works well but a bit flimsy - good at the price
Comes supplied with fittings for either 3.5" or 5" bays which is useful. It fitted easily and the leads were long enough to reach the motherboard terminals. Reads all cards I've tried so far with no problems, mostly CF and SD but some others. Single additional USB port on the front is useful.
