MobileMate - this will not be your Mate

I purchased a Sandisk MobileMate approx 2 weeks ago, it arrived in a couple of days which was great. After following all the instuctions it failed to work on my MS computer. I then proceded to try it on various other computers, four in all, it failed to work on any of them. I sent it back for a replacement, which arrived one week later. Once again the replacement did not work. I contacted Sandisk for an answer to what's wrong with their product but they have not come back to me. I would NOt recommend buying this product, it's been an absolute waste of my time and money.

I'm sure it's good, but....

Before buying this product, check to see if your laptop/PC has a 4-pin, 6-pin or 9-pin Firewire port. If it has only 4 pins, the reader will not work as it requires a 6 or 9 pin port. (I know it says this in the small print, but impatient types like me don't always read it!)

4 pins = no power = no good! It would perhaps have been nice for SanDisk to provide the capability for external power for those of us who are firewire pin challenged.

Great and easy to use

There's not much to say about it, but this stick drive is really easy to use, you can get 2gb Micro SD cards for only a few quid and changing the card is not too difficult if you're careful. I've tried it with Windows Vista and it works alright on the USB port. I'm happy with it.

It's an SD card.

Class 2 is allegedly slow compared to class 6. I can't say I notice the difference. Perhaps in a digital camera on sucessive-shot mode it under performs. For PDA devices and digital storage/transfer it works very nicely.

NB. Will only work with SDHC (SD 2.0, FAT32 file system) compatible devices.

Er,....just to add to previous comments, when anything seems too good to be true...but please AMAZON dont waste my time asking me to be bothered to look when I select 'low to high price' search. Why stop at a postage charge of £112 for 28 sd cards? Why not £200?
AMAZON is my prefered method of purchase online. If AMAZON allows this daft marketing ploy I might as well shop on eBay.
