Just so simple, but so impressive

Like the previous reviewer, I've been very impressed by how easy this was to set up. Indeed the most difficult thing about the installation for me was getting the LCD TV off the wall to plug the HDMI cable into the back of it (setting up the software is child's play). I also run an Xbox 360 as a media centre extender in my living room and the Linksys DMA 2100 was far easier to set up. The functionality and media options are very good (particularly if you like video on demand services like iplayer from the BBC and Sky Anytime) and the ability to access almost any media from my pc is just brilliant.
The box doesn't look spectacular but as I was buying it to use in a bedroom the fact it is tiny and blends into the backround is a good thing (its about the size of a DVB freeview box).
One small tip which is that if the wonderful world of wireless networking is driving you berzerk (particularly if you only have a wireless G router) homeplug devices which use your mains power cables to route data power socket to power socket are a good option and work well with the DMA 2100. I'm using several devolo homeplug 200av's round my house and even in the bedroom (which achieves the lowest network speeds) I have enough bandwidth to play HD videos I've downloaded.

Firstly I can not fault the supplier as it came immediately and was as described.

The problems start as soon as you try to register the product with the manufacturer. Additional CD's are supplied that do not have serial numbers and require countless visits to the web site to register and obtain new serial numbers. Failure to do this only allows you to use the item in demo - reduced mode.

After two hours of emails, countless reboots it eventually accepted it was registered. ( windows Vista 32 ) It then went into a series of starting several copies of the same programme, refusing to scan and some of the most confusing software I have seen in 20+ years of dealing with computers. It then decided it wasnt registered, started a third copy and then crashed.

User friendly it aint. Small compact , quiet and lightweight is all I can say. Very disapointed. Now just remains to be seen if I can get money back.

CRAZY PRICE FOR CARRIAGE

I tried to order 24 of these tapes for a future project overseas - the carriage costs was an UNBELIEVABLE £108.00 - I told Amazon set these charges, If they do it's a DISGRACE - My advice is to shop around you can find better deals

Okay but ....

When item arrived, there was only one dvd in the blister pack. Good old Amazon sorted it out for me, although it wasn't strictly their problem as the pack comes from another supplier. Disc itself is fine though.

Perfect

I recently got my self a low-end digital camera with a 4mb card. For an upgrade I decided to buy this card. Had no problems setting it up, received it with 2 days! And the number of photos I can now take is unbelievable!!! I did consider the 128mb but to be honest I don't think I need that kind of capacity. Final Verdict 10/10!

Stylish, great protection. Classic looks

This slip case is awesome. It has a very stylish appearance with a soft felt like interior. It is understated and compliments my Vaio very well.
On a recent flight, the airhostess dropped my case as she retrieved it from the overhead storage and it fell 6 feet to the ground. I was about to explode with rage but the slip case did the trick and there was no damage to my rather expensive and light Vaio SZ61. I recommend this case to all business travellers. There is even enough room for some paperwork in the case. Highly recommended real VAIO accessory.

Great little helper

I run my business selling items on Amazon and ebay and despatch upto 300 orders a day. I looked into a specific label printer and checked out Seiko, Dymo and Brother's offerings in greeat detail. In the end I plumped for this. The main reason was the text capture element of the software. All you have to do is higlight the text and click on an icon on the windows taskbar and it imports straight into it's little program. You then simply click on the print icon. No more control c, control v repetitive strain injuries for me. The software is good and allows you to set up a return address so I can thouroughly recommend this product.

Not as good as I expected

My rear fan needed replacing due bearing failure so I thought this would be a good option, though I regret my choice now. Even at the lowest speed it's more noisy than the one with the bearing failure it was to replace and the cables are poorly thought out - the mainboard one is really long and the actual power one is really short.

I gave it 2 stars as it does as the literature describes but as someone that wanted a quiet product this misses the mark for me.

Good Value Disk if You Want a Box

Most people buy disks on a spindle and boxes separately. By my reckoning buying these is a cheaper option if you want a box most of the time. It is not entirely clear from the description if this is the box or the disk with the box, it does contain the disk, hence why I have written this review. The other thing worth noting, at least for my Sony HDD/DVD recorder, is that the -R disk supports fast dubbing mode, which records an hour's worth of television in about 3 minutes. The mode wasn't available when I tried +R and it took an hour. The white label takes pens better than some other disks which is also a plus.
Last piece of advice is to watch out for postage fees when ordering. Suddenly the best deals don't look so attractive.
In summary: it's a recordable disk that comes in the same sort of DVD box that a film comes in, which is nothing to get too excited about.

smart size, smart quality!

I bought a fuji fine40i digital camera, but it just only 8 MB smartmedia card. So i choose the higher memory, 32 MB. Smartmedia
card is advanced technology to save image and sound format.
it does not only save pictures, but also it can save mp3. why not to try to take pictures the same as hearing great mp3!

Trust Front Panel media drive

This product is useless as an internal bay as all the connections require connections to be connected to a USB port outside of the computer apart from the SATA drive which is connected to the mother board. This defies logic. The product should be redesigned and marketed as an external media drive which even in its current state it can be used as such.
I repeat: This is not a true internal drive. It is internal but requires connections to outside of the computer. The firewire even needs to be connected to a firewire port which is unsuable if the reason it was bought was to have just 1 firewire port. Other brands connect to the USB on the motherboard. I suggest you buy one of these!
