Once that decision was made the choice to buy this one was easy. I liked the retro style & unusual rubber finish & was happy to pay more for a sturdier option. I was also attracted to the retractable cord.
I've used this product loads (mostly the double beater, sometimes the whisk for egg whites, once for bread) It has coped well will all these and the build quality does feel satisfyingly clunky. It is easy to keep clean too. My only complaint is that the retractable cord is a bit awkward to unwind sometimes. (I still love being able to do it though!) I would definitely buy this again...

I bought this product having debated long & hard as to whether I should get free-standing or hand-held. In the end I borrowed a Kitchenaid free-standing & that persuaded me. If like me you use several bowls while baking, and want to avoid having to dust & clean around yet another appliance, I recommend hand-held..Once that decision was made the choice to buy this one was easy. very bad experience
brought this product around 8 months back and now it gives me some amazing fire works. when ever i switch on it, sparks come up under the blender. don't know the reason why but it does it.the other reason that i am disappointed that within few months of purchase one of the blenders blades were burnt because of the heat that it produces.

Hand blender - water trapped in lid
I have bought this blender, and it works wonderfully for baby food. However, when you wash the item, water gets stuck in the black top and stays there, there is no way of getting it out, and the water has now gone off and smells really horrible. this is obviously a design fault... can someone do anything about this. I love the blender, but the water getting in when washing is a real nightmare.48

You have to remove ALL the fat in any meat as it just gets tangled in the mincer blades, causing the engine to overheat. If you do that, you get no fat in your sausages and it’s like eating sawdust! I think I’m better off using my hand cranked 1920’s mincer.

I've been using this mixer for 30 years in the US, where it originated. My mother before me had one, too. During the interim I had bought a Kenwood Major, but sheared off the dough hook shaft numerous times on stiff dough. This has never happened with my KitchenAid.I treat it roughly, as it's meant to be treated in a busy kitchen and it stands up to any punishment I've dished out;

Triple Beater beaten after only five days.
After owning the same Philips hand mixer (with bowl and stand)for over 25 years and regularly using it for family baking, I was disappointed with the lack of choice on the current market. I am no cheapskate, but some of the more expensive models seemed heavy, so I settled for the Breville. What an awful choice I made! Although five speed, the lowest setting was far too fast and splattered the contents of my mixing bowl everywhere. Creamed mixtures took ages to become light and fluffy and pastry was nearly impossible, no doubt because of the thinness of the beaters, which were really difficult to eject. And why on earth should it need three of them? After only five uses, my 10 day-old Breville gave up completely, and boy was I relieved, because I got my money back and will now buy a better quality machine.57

Perfect for gym enthusiast
I bought this for my boyfriend over a year ago (May 2007). He uses it 4 times a week before he goes to the gym and to date there are no problems with it. It's easy to use and clean (he handwashes it as he doesn't have dishwasher - don't know if this might affect others that have gone bad) and it very hygenic - clean small areas with a bottle brush. It's particularly great at keeping your smoothie cold as it is a steel jug. Perhaps the others that have gone wrong are defective or mistreated. Due to the amount this maker is used, I'd well recommend it for regular use.58

Build quality is second to none: but you’d probably expect this from Kenwood. It’s a nice addition to the attachments I own for my Kenwood Chef.
I use the potato peeler for most root vegetables when doing casseroles for my freezer - it just takes out the hassle of peeling that big amount of veg! I particularly like to use it when cleaning Jersey Royal Potatoes. I tend to buy them covered in soil - and the job of cleaning them is done in 2 minutes in the potato peeler if you want the skins cleaned, but still not quite scrubbed off completely.
The reason I gave this 4 stars is because I think a product like this has a limit to how good/useful it can be on an every day basis. You will also need to think about storage - like all the attachments for the chef, they can be bulky. Glad I bought it though.

Value for money
This is my first food processor and I am very pleased with it. I did quite a bit of research first and following the advice to keep it out on the worktop, I have used it for something every day. It has taken the work out of grating, slicing and juicing citrus fruits and pastry is produced in seconds. A fantastic labour saving device. I have added extra parts: the julienne chipper is excellent, but it is a shame there isn't a size option in the way there is with grating and I also have the centrifugal juicing attachment which is a great disappointment. The chute is far to small, it produces little juice and lets pulp through to the juice so it often needs sieving before it can be drunk.All in all, it is a good value for money food processor.

Pleasant to use
I am happy with this mixer. It is relatively quiet but has a powerful motor. I already used this on numerous occasions rather than use my large worktop standing Kitchenaid. The only reason I have given it 4 stars rather than 5 stars is that it is advertised has having storage for the lead which I thought was a good idea. The problem is that the gap left for the lead only takes about a quarter of it and you have to wind the rest around the machine. Not a big deal but a slight irritant when I expected to store the lead neatly.
