Review for Nokia 3109 Sim Free Mobile Phone - Grey:
Just About Perfect
Having used all the main makes of phone at some time or other, I have come to the conclusion that the Nokia menu system and texting interface is by far the best. Consequently, when I started to look for a new phone I restricted myself to Nokia. My next requirement was a model with as few bells and whistles as possible. I didn't want a camera, or an mp3 player, or a radio - I want the phone for communications purposes, not for entertainment or as a fashion statement. Eventually I discovered the 3109, quite by accident as it turned out. It is in the 'Classic' range, and feels quite large in the hand. But the extra size means a good-sized colour screen and an unusually large keypad. The large keys combined with the Nokia texting interface mean that texting is about as easy as it is possible for it to be. The screen itself is clear and bright, and the detail on it is easily visible even in broad daylight. Build quality is very good, and connection to other devices can be achieved by Bluetooth, Infrared or USB cable. Total memory available in the phone is about 9MB, though roughly half of that is already in use when you receive it. You can, however, expand the memory by up to 2GB via a Micro SD card. Sound quality is very good, and the ringtones are louder than on most phones I have used. There is no radio or camera, but there is an mp3 player. However, I'm not knocking off a star just because there is an additional facility I never use. All in all I cannot fault this phone in any department. If you want/need the camera and radio, I understand that the 3110 model is exactly the same phone but with those features added.27
Review for Motorola RAZR V3 Blue - Camera Phone - Mp3 Ringtones - Bluetooth - Sim Free:
It developed a fault almost immediately and I had to send it back to Motorola for repair. When it came back, it was locked to all networks. Motorola denied all responsibility and told me to contact my service provider. My service provider (O2) had to lean on them to get the unlock code for me, which they did eventually, but it was all a lot of hassle and hanging onto help lines for twenty minutes at a time.
Very stressful!

Would think twice before buying again.
I bought this as a replacement for a previous model exactly the same. I have to say it is very under-featured for the price - or over-priced for the features - compared to other 'phones available, butI like its slim design and the fact that it is a flip phone. It developed a fault almost immediately and I had to send it back to Motorola for repair. Review for Nokia 7500 Prism Sim Free Mobile Phone - Black:
It looks amazing, certainly not like any other phone you can see nowadays. Very light weight, and full of features that you need. The display is awesome, and you can easily install themes to modify the looks. It has all the features that you want from a mobile phone, music player, web browsing, organizer, etc
the camera is ok, not the best one i have seen on a phone, but still photos look good. not a big issue for me, but if you require a phone with more than 3 megapixel, then, this is not the one. The phone is very easy to use, no complicated menus, and no need to spend hours trying to find your way around. the best thing is that you can customize the menus, and you can rearrange menu entries according to your usage. You can use mp3s as ringtone, and the volume is really good and most importantly, clear. The little joystick which is replacing the four way navigation buttons (old style nokia), is a little hard to get use to at the beginning, but then it becomes essential and very easy to use. Not only does this phone gives you all you expect and more from a phone, but it looks stunning, shiny black, with excellent LCD display. Truly a fabulous phone, and very reasonable price. cannot see any reason why not to choose it, and it is certainly a better option than other over priced phone than do not give anything more.

Review for Sony Ericsson K850i Sim Free Mobile Phone - Velvet Blue:
After having it 6 weeks or so, I was texting and it was as if the sim card had re-set itself. When I tried to get into my inbox it said 'operation failed' which means I have to re-set the master settings so I lose all my texts, etc. This happens at least twice a week.
Around 6 months ago, there I was texting again and the back touch button activated. Thinking I must have touched it by accident, I thought nothing of it but then realised everytime I pressed the '5' key it activates the back touch pad so frequently throughout a text I get the 'do you want to save this text message'. The same also applies for when I press the down key... It also does it for the '4' '6' and 'left' button but it's ad hoc for these three.
When I'm on the phone it has a habit of freezing and cutting the call off. My friends keep thinking I've hung up on them. There is also no way to deactivate the touch pad when you're on the phone so I have to hold the phone at an angle or I find myself sending blank texts to people.
As time goes on the three touch keys become less reactive. I can't really use the 'back' one now unless I dig my finger in, but hey, I always have the 5 key...
It turns itself off. If it wasn't for the fact the alarm still goes off when the phone is off, many a time would I have been late for work.
The battery life is rubbish [which tbf can be said for all SE's].
The 5mp is overrated. If you put your finger anywhere on the back of the phone when using the flash your picture comes out strange. Really dark and it alters the colours.
I also don't know how a man or anyone with large hands would be able to text. The buttons are really small and really hard. When I first got it it took my fingers and thumbs about a month to get used to it cos they were really sore [I am an avid texter].
All these other positive reviews, don't listen to them. They've had this phone a mere weeks before it gets rubbish... Take it from someone who's suffered with it for 10 months and don't buy it. Everyone I know who has this phone despises it.

Listen to someone who's had this phone for 10 months...
I despise this phone. I'd give it less than a star if I could. It's the bane of my life. I am currently looking on Amazon to buy another phone. I have 8 months of my contract left, and I can't stand it.After having it 6 weeks or so, I was texting and it was as if the sim card had re-set itself. When I tried to get into my inbox it said 'operation failed' which means I have to re-set the master settings so I lose all my texts, etc. This happens at least twice a week.

This contains all the features you need in a phone: good size screen, FM radio, camera and memory card slot so you can use it as MP3 player. I've not had any of the problems mentioned by the previous reviewer, nor have any of my work colleagues and friends with the same model, so perhaps an isolated problem?33

A good phone...well I like it! :)
I haven't had a lot of phones, but decided to get the chocolate after seeing it on the TV and internet. The first thing I thought when I got the phone was: 'nice box!', in fact, I think I've still got it somewhere. The phone itself looked really good in its little bag thing-although it lost its lustre after a while due to fingerprints and scratches that's just natural and it still is a really pretty phone. I had no trouble adjusting to the touch screen-in fact now when I go back to normal buttons I get thumb ache! :) I love the way you can personalise the profiles and the camera is actually pretty OK except its annoying having to find bluetoothed stuff when it's been sent ( it usually ends up in some obscure file) and I would have liked to have had the choice of different text alerts rather than just the set few. Also, I am RUBBISH at sudoku so the game annoys me no end...on my last phone I had a platformer which was really good so I miss that a bit :( But overall a really pretty and useful phone!34
Review for Nokia 6021 Tri Band Phone - Sim Free:
I'd been tempted to replace the 6310 on a couple of occasions, but the phones produced by Nokia and Motorola in recent years haven't really moved me: they all look like toys; they're small to the point of being unusable; the battery life is rotten; I've got an MP3 player and don't need my phone to stand in for one and if I want a camera, I'll buy a camera.
So I was pleased to find the 6021 - a sober looking, no-frills phone for us sober business types and with battery life to rival the grand old 6310.
And it's not bad. The full colour interface is actually slightly less usable than Nokia's old interface and it doesn't feel as solidly built as the 6310, but the sound and reception quality is pretty good and it pretty much does what it says on the box.
So why not 5 stars?
Well, if they'd made the thing a couple of cm longer the microphone would have been next to my mouth, improving clarity and quality for the listener and the buttons could have been bigger for clumsy old me (lose 1 star). More seriously, the PC Suite software and USB cable required to synchronise the phone is (a) extra (about 1/3 the cost of the phone at Amazon prices) and (b) is just awful - it lacks functionality and just doesn't work properly (lose another).
So - if you want a decent phone with long battery life the 6021 is worth a look; if you want reliable synchronization with your PC, look elsewhere (and note that I think that my issues in this respect are with the Nokia PC Suite software not the phone, so you may need to look at another manufacturer all together).

Son of 6310 not quite as good as the Father

Review for Samsung D900 - Black - Sim Free Mobile Phone - 3 megapixel camera - ultra Thin:
I couldn't have been more wrong.
Good Points:
1. Looks good-> and this time, looks aren't deceptive
2. Pretty good camera- 3MP! And all that in this tiny thing...
3. Durable. Wow. First mobile I've bought that doesn't scratch in about a day.
4. Good functions- mp3 player, voice recorder, 10 games (albeit only 4 are any good).
5. Easy to use. In my opinion, the new Nokia when it comes to simplicity.
Bad points:
1. Continues the old Samsung tradition of making the contacts load only after you've died for 100 years.
2. Internet is wick.
3. Not a lot of internal memory for things that matter- music and images.
Overall, this phone is a good choice. Can get a bit annoying at times with the contacts, but it does its job and looks good at the same time.
*I'd advise you to buy an iPod nano cover for this- it fits OK and prevents unnecessary stratches.*

Slim, sleek, Samsung- the perfect combination!
I bought this phone last Christmas, hoping to get a phone which not only looked nice, but had a few cool features on it too. Review for Nokia E51 Sim Free Mobile Phone - Silver:
The looks are nothing special (I have the black version), no better than a £30 pay-as-you-go handset and will gain you no pub-kudos if that is a concern of yours. The keys are close together making fast texting and navigating pretty troublesome. The menu system is not particularly intuitive - each action seems to take one more press than necessary. The screen font is tiny, even when on large setting. The battery on mine failed within two weeks of use so that did little to endear it to me, though Vodaphone replaced it quickly and without fuss. The camera is adequate but only 2mp though the screen is quite bright and colourful, if a little small. Ring and call volumes are also not great, even on max - I find myself missing a lot more calls than with other phones.
On the plus side, I'm a fan of the Nokia PC suite software. Connect it to your computer with the USB cable provided and things start to look up. Your texts pop up in the opening menu and can be replied to from your keyboard (much easier). Updating your contacts list is much easier on your PC too. You can download your Office files to view offline via Quickword and Quicksheet, pretty useful if you don't want to lug your laptop around. When out and about, find yourself an unsecure wireless LAN and surf away. Having said that, it's a pretty tedious and unenjoyable affair on the small screen.
Overall, it's a good phone that does much more than I've mentioned here, but it is not too user friendly. It is definitely aimed at the business/power user rather than the teen bus stop texter but I wouldn't call it a joy to use - my colleagues issued with the same model agree. I would recommend the Krusell leather case (see other review) as it is quite small and easy to lose if you're not careful.

Serious phone
I have a lot of respect for this phone but would advise potential buyers to consider if it suits their needs before buying. My reason for this is that although it is undoubtedly a powerful business tool, in my opinion leaves a lot to be desired as far as style, ease of use and dare I say, entertainment are concerned. In other words, it's a powerful but seriously dull handset. The looks are nothing special (I have the black version), no better than a £30 pay-as-you-go handset and will gain you no pub-kudos if that is a concern of yours. Review for Nokia 6021 - Bluetooth - Polyphonic Ringtones - Built In Handsfree - Sim Free:
Firstly the phone concatenates all calendars to single as an calendar. On my home mac there's my girl friends hobbies and work schedule that I'm interested of but I cannot import them to this without mixing them together with my own markups. That's bad thing because if I sync my phone with my computer at work exchange marks be as busy when my girl friend is having dance lesson.
Another huge problem is that after about 40 or 50 task memory area becomes full. When task list is full tasks that are done can be dropped from memory when syncing but I feel that the phone just throws dice which task it will import to undone list. Most likely some task of the day are not being imported and if you depend on beeps telling you to switch task you'll end up missing some of them.
Major annoyance with task is pressing button that yes I noticed that phone wanted me to see it and press button. If I don't press button next task alarm will not beep. Finally after some hours wondering hmm, the phone has been silent long time I'll remember to push check button and pending tasks will beep at ones.
Minor annoyance is that calendar & task synchronization cannot be done if phone is in any menu, like menu showing waiting task to be checked.
Summary: this is phone, not even simple PDA. I wonder why Nokia listed this as business model.

This phone is good if you don't need much more than talk and SMSes. I was inspired about Tom Limoncelli Time Management for System Administrators -book and thought I'll use my phone as PDA. In case you consider using this phone as a calendar & task container be aware that this phone just can't do the job.Firstly the phone concatenates all calendars to single as an calendar. Review for Nokia 1110 Sim Free Mobile Phone:
The address book is a breeze to use and you can even assign friendly icons to key members of your address book to help you immediately scroll to your loved one! Voice qaulity is great and the volume is high enough for noisy environments too.
The ring tones are good for a budget phone. While I couldn't care less about ringtones, there are plenty of trendy sounding ones to choose from. But after all, if you want to listen to music, switch your stereo on!
Texting is also dead easy. The predictive text input is mega speedy and adding unusual words into the memory is very straight forward too.
The buttons are nice. Quite rubbery, but easy to press and they light up a fabulous white. The navigation key is great and it quickly becomes second nature to whizz through the super friendly menus to your required function.
It has got some basic games built into the phone, but these don't excite me at all. I did notice it had the obligatory Snake game however!
Battery life is exceptional. I get nearly two weeks on standby with moderate use sprinkled in between.
So what's stopping it getting 5 stars? Well, it's the display. While indoors or at night, the display is quite lovely, but during daylight, it is fairly hard to read.
A very good mobile for those wanting something simple, reliable and small. No frills, but a solid performer none the less.
