Plenty good enough

Had this phone for 4-5 months now, as an upgrade from a D500. Everything about the phone is better than its predecessor, except; I cannot use apostrophes and speech marks!!! Samsung obviously assume that anyone who texts uses 'txt spk' or whatever it's called. I don't. Bring back the punctuation Samsung! One other thing: You can have ring OR vibrate. Why not both? Would be useful.

Just About Perfect

Having used all the main makes of phone at some time or other, I have come to the conclusion that the Nokia menu system and texting interface is by far the best. Consequently, when I started to look for a new phone I restricted myself to Nokia. My next requirement was a model with as few bells and whistles as possible. I didn't want a camera, or an mp3 player, or a radio - I want the phone for communications purposes, not for entertainment or as a fashion statement. Eventually I discovered the 3109, quite by accident as it turned out. It is in the 'Classic' range, and feels quite large in the hand. But the extra size means a good-sized colour screen and an unusually large keypad. The large keys combined with the Nokia texting interface mean that texting is about as easy as it is possible for it to be. The screen itself is clear and bright, and the detail on it is easily visible even in broad daylight. Build quality is very good, and connection to other devices can be achieved by Bluetooth, Infrared or USB cable. Total memory available in the phone is about 9MB, though roughly half of that is already in use when you receive it. You can, however, expand the memory by up to 2GB via a Micro SD card. Sound quality is very good, and the ringtones are louder than on most phones I have used. There is no radio or camera, but there is an mp3 player. However, I'm not knocking off a star just because there is an additional facility I never use. All in all I cannot fault this phone in any department. If you want/need the camera and radio, I understand that the 3110 model is exactly the same phone but with those features added.

For the price very basic

Reading the technical spec for this phone, it looked to be a really decent phone for the price. Having received the phone & going through the some what vague (in places) instruction manual, I can now say it is a very very basic phone. It comes with one ring tone (or at least this one did) & that's your lot. I've been in contact with Samsung regarding a problem with the key pad tones as I can't select the 2nd or 3rd choices. The sounds are there for those choices but it reverts back to the annoying beep choice when you press the keys so I put it on silent key pad (at least that works). A small detail but being new it should work. Using the arrow keys is problematic when pressing the down arrow you have to be careful not to press the cancel/delete key below it as it is so close its almost joined to the arrow key. I have an ancient motorola v620 flip phone which is far superior to the Samsung D800 which I would of thought with modern technoligy shouldn't be the case. You would probably get a phone with the same features as the D800 for a third of the cost at Asda or Tesco.

Nokia N80

This phone is perfect for those who simply want a functional phone packed in to a beatifully designed handset.Ive had a lot of nokia phones. This is the best i have owned so far.I only use it as a text phone, battery is ok. Its a cheap secound hand phone, great camara,Plays mp3 music.Well made, Ive owned it for over a year with no prpblems.

Sony Ericsson rules again!

Better in my opinion than the W880i cos its actually bigger than a credit card and you can text without worrying that it might fall between your fingers!! a few ppl seem to have a problem with the camera on this phone but it is the best 2MP camera ive seen on a phone and has a really good flash. the buttons r v unique and it makes texting v easy. also a nice looking phone and has good mp3 capabilities being a walkman phone

Best nokia i have ever owned, if your thinking of buying one of these phones..do it, im not going into detail theres too much to say, so far i have found nothing wrong with this phone its worth buying.

Excellent Phone.

Slim and small in size. Has a decent 3.2m camera - takes good photos but can't zoom in unless on VGA (lowest quality mode) - also video is rubbish!

All the usual phone features, the easy to use Sony Ericcson user interface, comparitively cheap - perfect for my needs.

Nokia 3500

I love this phone - it's so easy to use and it's pink! The only problem with it is that the charging port is just about the same size as the charger insert and if you're not ultra careful it falls out so the battery fails to charge. All in all I really like it and would definitely get another one, but I'd also get a supply of blue-tack for holding the phone and charger together!

Great phone, but...

I love this phone. Apart from the fact it hasn't got bluetooth, it's great. Along with an infra red computer connector, this works great as a video camera, and as it is so small it is easy to carry wherever whenever. The vibrate function is really good, you actually notice it unlike some phones. Sound quality from mp3s could be better.

The main downside is that after a while, about one and a half years for mine and my friend's phones, they can start to break and the top keypad doesn't work properly. A week ago mine stopped working entirely.

So a great phone, but don't expect to keep it...
