Good performance but the shuffle is useless
This player works fine, battery life is pretty good is used regularly, but the shuffle is hopeless. Basically every time you switch the player on the shuffle starts from the same place. It took a while to spot this but then it becomes so irritating. I checked it out with Creative thinking that there was maybe a software issue but there wasn't - it's just the way the unit behaves. Unbelievable.3
Review for SanDisk Sansa Express 1Gb MP3 Player:
It definitely does the job `plug in and play', no down load software, no messing around with your computer, just drop the files you want In this MP3 and play! The ear phones that come with it are basic, however the sound is very good and the functions are user friendly. No complications at all. Enjoy!

Excellent value for money product
I ordered this on the 14th Sept and got it on the 16th Sept and I have to say I was sceptical in buying this product as I always go for branded products especially when it comes to electrical items. But I was totally impressed with this MP3 player. I absolutely love it, I love the LCD screen lights up in blue and the buttons are easy to use. Also the fact that you can add more storage by buying a micro chip for as little as £2 - it's amazing. Forget all these expensive MP3 players, I totally recommend this item. Only downside is that if you want to listen to the music at the gym for example, you would need to buy a clip separately. However it comes with a neck attachment anyway. Also in the specification there is not mention about a radio which I was slightly disappointed but to my surprise there is a FM stereo function! Brilliant! It definitely does the job `plug in and play', no down load software, no messing around with your computer, just drop the files you want In this MP3 and play! Perfect second (or third) portable
I can't see how it could be improved. It's small--about the size of a zippo lighter, very light, excellant sound quality, simple to operate and nice looking.5

I have brought the 1MB (not video) for my other half as a gift, that was really good so I decided to buy this on the strenght of that.
What a disappointment it froze and had to go back - I did get a complete refund so global digital get marks there, but you never get the postage back which amounts to over £7.00. oh well! Beware don't get this model

Review for Philips DVDR3510 - DVD Recorder & VCR Combi:
Philips DVDR3510 - DVD Recorder & VCR Combi
This DVD/VCR combi recorder has got to be the easiest machine ever to use to convert those precious videos to DVD. Very simplistic instructions, easy to set up and one touch button recording. I have converted all my videos to DVD using the slow play option from the drop down menu, just over 6 hours of recording on each DVD+RW disc. It allows recording to DVD+-RW, DVD+-R, DVD+R DL and VHS. It has the facility to edit each recording that you make i.e. name the film title or name of occasion recorded (birthday etc) . It also comes with video plus and has all the support for recording from digital video camcorders. It is compatible with CD, CD-R/-RW, MP3-CD, MP3-DVD, WMA. The only drawback is the audio playback from older videos can often be poor and it weighs 5.2 kg. Altogether an excellent machine for those who have little knowledge about digital machines and all for just under £175.00 delivery free.7

Review for Creative Zen Stone Plus MP3 Player With In-Built Speaker - Pink:
Poor FM radio, great speaker
The main reason I bought the Creative Zen Stone Plus with built in speaker(pink) was the radio and that built in speaker. The radio is a waste of time though. Reception is very poor even though I live in an area with a very strong FM signal. All the other radios in the house have crystal clear FM reception (including the FM radio on my partners Sony Ericsson K750i mobile phone). If you have the patience and can put up with very loud static while you shuffle about the room seeking that elusive hot spot, you might eventually find one. Don't move though or you'll lose it. No good then for listening while walking the dog. I wondered if my player was faulty and contacted the Creative Support Team two days after purchasing it to discuss. After some rather stilted and weird email communication from them (they didn't read my email properly regarding the problem nor did they actually answer any of my queries) I took it back to the store and they happily exchanged it for another one. The reception on the new one is slightly better but not by much. I have decided to live with it (even though i am not happy and have since noticed that somebody else has notified of the same problem on the Creative web site user discussion forum) because I really love that speaker...it really is fun! Obviously it's a thin sound but never harsh. Music or spoken word you find yourself getting totally immersed in the listening because somehow, despite its size it manages to deliver real ambience. The microphone is ok for recording as long as the source is right next to the mic. Anything else it doesn't pick up. No good for recording lectures as I have seen bandied about by the manufacturers! As you might have read elsewhere, the way files and menus are managed on the Zen Stones is not ideal. However, as far as i know no other player has this built in speaker so there's no other option if you want this feature. Supplied software is excellent and easy to use, the player feels gorgeous tucked in your hand as so small and screen very clear. Creative should sort that radio out though because it really is not acceptable. I have had to take this into consideration with my rating.8
Review for Samsung YP-U3JQB - MP3 Player - 2GB - Black:
The sound quality is good with the supplied earphones, although the ear fit isn't perfect for me. I think most people though have their own favourite headphones and don't tend to use the"free" ones.
The player supports OGG format which is critical for me as a Linux user. However the machine is MTA rather than UMS, so drag-and-drop doesn't work. I guess this was because they wanted to support copy-protected downloads. I use Suse 10.3, and once I'd installed the library for MTA tools I found that files on the player can be directly managed though Amarok, so no problems. (You can also use the MTA tools in command-line mode, but you have to be careful with this - once I managed to delete all tracks inadvertently!)
I really like the display (which to my eye is blue!) and the Settings allow a range of adjustments including an equaliser, a range of sound stage presets, A-B repeat, sleep timer, auto power-off and others.
The radio is good, but as with most of these players the headphone cord is the antenna and so needs to be fully extended if the signal is weak.
The inbuilt voice recorder is more handy than I expected it to be and great for storing quick notes (e.g. to store prices of items when browsing shops, shopping lists).
The little"quick-start" manual provided is poor (it doesn't even mention the radio!), but all the controls are pretty standard and obvious so that's not a big drawback. There is also a .pdf manual on a mini-CD, but I haven't bothered to look at that since I wasn't using the supplied software.
All in all, I really like it and it's small and light enough to be always with me.

Attractive versatile player
I really like this stylish little player, although there are some snags. The controls, being touch-sensitive, are a little tricky at first, but I soon got used to them. You need to use the key-lock all the time to avoid key errors, and here's a slight irritation - if you touch a button with the key-lock on, there's a beep, so when I had it in my pocket, key-locked, there was a series of beeps whenever the keys touched anything. Fortunately you can turn the beep off in the Settings menus. The sound quality is good with the supplied earphones, although the ear fit isn't perfect for me. I think most people though have their own favourite headphones and don't tend to use the"free" ones.

Absolutely Great Couldnt be happier!
There are so many to choose from with MP3 players so it took me a while to decide. I took my chances with this a bit as there were few reviews but I have been sooo pleased with it! Its so tiny and easily clips on your clothes for excercising or doing things around the house. The sound quality is great and the battery seems to last ages aswell. You can pay a lot more for an MP3 with half the memory and a lot less features so it is great value aswell also it's really easy to navigate. I'm so pleased i went for this one :0). Go on give it a go! You wont be disappointed!10
Review for Sandisk SDMX11R-1024K-E70 MP3 Player Sansa Clip 1GB with Radio:
We wanted a simple player that was easy to use, gave a good sound without needing to store vast numbers of tracks. The Sandisk has exceeded expectations. It is really easy to set up, has not crashed my XP2 system and the sound quality is superb. Even the FM radio quality on the stations we can receive in our poor reception area is excellent - a bonus.
I am very impressed and can recommend it unreservedly.

Review for Philips AE5900/05 - DAB Clock Radio:
The set up was intuitively easy and the sound quality was really excellent. If you want a nice DAB radio for the kitchen I would give it 5 stars. But the trouble is I have very specific requirements for a clock radio which the Philips radio didn't fulfil.
Firstly, I like to listen to the radio through my headphones when I wake up in the middle of the night to get me back to sleep. But the sleep function was ridiculously complicated to put on, especially in the dark. It took lots of noisy button pushing (the buttons are overly clicky) which isn't great when you are trying not to wake up your partner.
Secondly, the sound quality through the headphones was terrible. I don't know if I got a faulty one but there was a loud electrical buzz which drowned out the radio. Maybe it's because the headphone socket is right next to the power input?
Also, for my taste, the display is much too bright too and lit up the room. But that's a personal thing.
So, I've sent my Philips back and replaced it with the not very pretty Pure Siesta. It might be ugly but it ticks all my technical requirements (and its a little bit cheaper).

Great... unless you want to use headphones or fall asleep with the radio on
I was attracted to this radio because it looks very cool and retro and I didn't want something nasty looking in my bedroom. The set up was intuitively easy and the sound quality was really excellent. Review for Sandisk Sansa e280 - 8Gb MP3 & Video Player:
I wish I hadn't! The menu is fiddly to use, the software kept doubling up on songs, some songs wouldn't delete, and then eventually the whole thing packed up completely just three months of very light use; the screen has turned completely white and will not reset. Sansa support seem unable to suggest how to fix this, so I am having to return it. I will not be asking for a replacement!

Fiddly to use, packed up totally after 3 months
Well, I have to say I'm very disappointed in the Sansa... After my old IPod packed in, and tired of ITunes tying you in to their own MP3 format, I decided to try something different.I wish I hadn't! I initially had very high hopes for this product after reading the reviews. Performs swimmingly
A great device. Listenable quality audio whilst swimming. I have used it two months. Transformed my swimming. I used to do 50 lengths a session because I felt better after and thought it did me good. Did not really enjoy the experience though and felt tired by the end. Now I do 85-100 lenghts and bounce along. I feel its cheating. The memory is not great, the MP3 functions basic. Not easy to adjust once in the water. All this is third-order importance. It delivers what it promises and at least for me adds hugely to my enjoyment. First product review I have ever written but felt compelled to tell people.16

An excellent iPod Alternative
I bought this player because as a previous iPod owner I had no intention or purchasing another. In the main this is an excellent product, it is small, light, power efficient and easy to manage and transfer music to. It isn't perfect by any means - the display isn't as refined as the iPod Nano's and the navigation is a little clunkier. But for all that I'm extremely happy with it - the key emphasis to me is that it has superior sound quality to the iPods which I think is the fundamental point of any player; it sounds better and is cheaper than the Nano so it was an easy win.17

Initial wow leads to disappointment
Bought this after reading reviews. Excellent sound, features, weight etc. Everything I read and wanted as I run. After approx 4 weeks player unexpectedley began to turn itself off with no good cause. Tried updating players firmware without positive result as well as resetting to factory settings and then eventually reformatting drive...20+ phone calls/emails to Sandisk who are based in States (you get redirected from UK number, I then had to produce photos, copies of proof of purchase, screenshots from PC of Amazon account etc, etc, etc...now over 8 weeks and it's still sitting in my drawer at home and I'm still waiting for their customer services to get in contact as my return has been accepted but now needs 'RMA approval' whatever that is..Feels like their dragging out episode in hope that I wont bother..Excellent player as far as I can tell from the 3 weeks it worked, diabolical customer support.18

A great little unit
A great little unit comes with a remote controller which is not always mentioned but very useful. Controls are well placed and easy to use. I could have wished for a slightly better tone but mega bass is available which makes a lot of difference. I really congratulate Sony for using re-cyled cardboard packing instead of that ghastly plastic foam which gets everywhere these days. Just missed giving it 5 stars because the price is just a tad high for the speaker quality which one gets.19

Biggest gripes are:
-the controls which work to a will of their own. Even turning it on is trial.
-battery life is about 4 hours tops
-switching between tracks. Well you just give up after a while.
-transfer doesn't always work. It will mess up one 'cd' in about 4 to make it unlistenable.
Basically save up and buy an Ipod.

Sansa clip 2MB - disaster
This apparently attractive MP3 player was not recognized by any of the computers in our house. It completely crashed the other USB devices on our main machine and even messed up the graphics card. Amazon will refund but not replace for this item. No problem, because I won't be looking to buy another Sansa. Shame, because it looks the part. We'll never know if it was really any good.
