really good fun very small. has radio which is good but the radio somtimes goes crackly. you can hold 500 songs which is handy. you can look at your song list while you are listening to your song then when you find one you want you can wait till that song has finished then press the forward button and it will put that song on.

This player and Transmitter package are Great Bargain Buy's.

The sound quality is Fantastic with seven Equalizer modes, Natural sounds best to me. The player is tiny and the screen is large enough to watch a video without stressing the eye. The photo browse function is great too and easy to use. FM radio is crisp and sounds good.

Scrol through the different options and press enter to choose what you want to do, MP3, video, Photo, radio, Games, Record, Voice. Press enter again to go to the sub menu's. They are dificult to work at first but once you get use to it they are ok.

Now if you buy this item and use a MAC be aware that although you can store Mp3 music to the player and Photo's you will only be able to store 99 MP3 tracks to the player. Regadless of the size of the player. This is because you need to create sub folders on a pc to add more than 99 tracks this is because each folder only stores 99 files, and you can not access this from a MAC.

You will also not be able to use the supplied software if you have a slot drive cd drive as the disk is 3.5 inch format. I have had trouble deleting mp3 tracks from the player and still not managed it. The web help available is quite good but even though i had my question answered in a day from the customer service department they didn't give me any more help than the downloaded instructions.

The player and transmitter are good value if you have the right kit to add the software to convert video ect. If you want to spend less than £50 for an MP3/4 player with all the bells and whistles this will do. You need to be a bit teckie to get to grips with its use but if your on a budget Go for it.

Great product for a great price

This is great, it does what you need with an easy to use screen that gives high quality images and videos, you can pay a lot more and get a lot less, I recommend this highly as well as feastronics that gave me excellent service and super quick delivery. No i'm not a director of the company but I do like a deal, and these are rear now days.

I think it's Fabby

I bought this MP3 player a week ago. I am really pleased with it. It is easy to use ( for me to say that it must be easy). The instructions are not very good but I found some good advice about its functions on the internet. I love the fact that you can bookmark and fast forward and rewind.

Only good for the basics

Firstly, the menu structure is a pain. My main gripe is that if you put too many songs onto it without seperating them into folders it freezes up. The battery life and sound quality are very good but the four buttons around the volume wheel can be fiddly to operate.

A great little unit

A great little unit comes with a remote controller which is not always mentioned but very useful. Controls are well placed and easy to use. I could have wished for a slightly better tone but mega bass is available which makes a lot of difference. I really congratulate Sony for using re-cyled cardboard packing instead of that ghastly plastic foam which gets everywhere these days. Just missed giving it 5 stars because the price is just a tad high for the speaker quality which one gets.

The ideal bedroom system

This product scores well on several fronts. If you're looking for a decent sounding music system that's easy to use and fits well in a bedroom or small living-room, the CMT-CPZ1DAB will see you right.

The sound quality is top-notch, with good amplification and two powerful speakers. The bass & treble settings are handy (for a 'fuller' sound set both of these to the maximum, ie. +4). The central unit stands at a neat 240 x 260 x 175 and each speaker is only slightly larger. Your average bedside locker will accommodate the main unit plus ONE of the speakers. And it looks well. For optimum enjoyment set the other speaker on the far side of the bed. I had to purchase an extra metre of speaker-cable because my double-bed is 150 wide and the cables supplied fall somewhat short of that. Take my word for it, it's WELL worth the extra few pennies and the 10 minutes of DIY! If your bed-width is 120 or narrower, extra cable won't be necessary. The"Sleep" feature is useful and can be set at intervals of 10 minutes up to a maximum of 90 minutes. There's also"Sleep Auto", which is handy when dozing off to a CD or tape. One minor flaw is that it only allows you to preset 20 DAB stations. This is mildly irritating because I spend a good deal of time in Dublin, which has 21 DAB stations! Anyway, about half of them also transmit on FM so I just picked my least favourite and stored it on one of the FM presets instead (which kinda defeats the purpose of DAB slightly).

Anyway it's a good set and I've just bought a second one, which is already installed in my spare bedroom! Sony have a similar looking set with a similar model number but it doesn't have DAB! Make sure you order the version that has the letters 'DAB' in the model number.

MP4/MP3 Touch Screen Player

Unfortunately had to return the first one as the touch screen was defective, but this was mitigated by the great service and a replacement was sent immediately. First impressions are that it is a great little device, smaller and lighter than a packet of cigaretes. The ability to put extra storage in, by use of a mini-SD card is great, especially if you are to away from home for a long time. Okay 4 Gb memory basic should be enough for most unless you want to use it solely for videos. I haven't used the device for a video yet, but from the sample given it is quite clear. With pictures it does not like too large a format so to display them you need to reduce the size/compression, however the display is nice and clear.Only niggle I have at present is the built in game, I cannot see or work out how to open this Tetris like game; I have no idea if you can load alternatives, but if you are into mini-games then this device is not really suitable.
The touhscreen screen remind me of the current advertisements for a certain Apple device, but how similar they are I have no idea, but the touch screen menu looks good and is easy to use.
Connection via the USB cable for uploading or downloading files is easy, the device is even recognised instantly by Microsoft Vista without needing additional drivers.
Battery life, well I have used this only for a few hours as yet but the built in battery display, on the touch screen, still shows a full charge.
The unit comes with ear plug type speakers, in white, which I haven't use, prefering light weight headphones, and as such I have found the clarity to be most acceptable and no need to turn the volume any way near half way up. The option of using the built in speaker is very handy at times and for its size it gives reasonable sound but remember if you want to use it for a party etc you need a seperate powered speaker unit.
I haven't really got to terms with the built in radio, but it is very directional and seems to need to be tuned in precisely.
The screen size is larger than most other devoted MP3 screens on the market unless you go for a devoted movie device (generally 4 to 8 inches. It is very acceptable for one person to use about the normal distance as per reading a book, but not really acceptable for use by two or more people nor for all the kids in back of the car.
One word of caution is that when you first get the unit home, there is a 'plastic' protective membrane to be removed and it is between the screen and the outer housing and looks as if it does not come off, it does; trouble is you can leave small bits of polythene within the screen surround.
Price wise it seems expensive until you remember that it has a large capacity of storage, 4 Gb, AND that it can take a mini SD card which can boost it up to 8 Gb

Value for money? No doubt!!!

what can i write for this little piece of equipment? i ve already bought 5 of those, in different colours and capacity. simply ideal for everybody. if you are looking for a combination of simplicity in use and design, here you are....

i got for myself, for my father and for my nephews. i ve tried the older Samsung mp3, was really satisfied and now this one comes to improve all the disadvantages of the previous series.

My opinion? go for it

Sansa media Converter problems

I have the 8MB Sansa View that I bought to replace my ageing 4GB iPOD.

For music its great. It has one major drawback and that is the software that you need from Sandisk to convert pictures and videos to the specific format for the player.

The software (Sansa Media Converter) stops Windows Media Center (Vista) from working. Sansa do not know if it is a clash with WMC or some types of TV card.
Anyways, to be able to watch TV again I have to uninstall the Sansa software. If I want to download photos or videos then I have to reinstall the Sansa software.

This is a known problem according to Sandisk but they have done nothing to find a solution. In fact, everytime i raise a support case for it, they say
"we are working on it" and close the support case - well i suppose it makes their clear up rate look good.

It really has taken the shine off what is otherwise a great bit of kit. My advice: if you only want music then buy this, if you need video - look elsewhere until the problem is fixed properly.

Amazing Value

Just received player, delighted, feels solid although pocket size very nice design. Outstanding sound & picture quality, very easy to use even for the over 50's (me)!so you young pups who seem to have a spirit guide through Techno Land will find it a breeze! The slide out speakers deliver a powerful clear performance and are a nice addition. All together an outstanding product at a great price. Maria Calais is in the room wih me.

bad after sales

I agree with most of the reviews about the quality and featuresof the product, but mine has had problems which I have tried to fix with updates from the Cowan site. This has crated other faults , and their help site is as bad as it gets, an Internet based help desk, slow useless answers and overall no help,I am still struggling to get my unit working as it should.

Superb sound, easy to use, expandable memory with microSD -- LOVE IT!!!!

I am a complete beginner in this world of mp3 and music, although have a big collection of CDs with all my favourite music, and love music in general.

I bought this mp3 player as it was time to have a proper little good mp3 player. I had"external slot" in mind, as my music is already stored in microSD cards for use on my mobile phone, so I searched the market, and this was the only one I found which had an external microSD slot (up to 4GB microSD - attention not 4GB-microSDHC!!), in addition to the main 8GB flash memory.

I did not expect it to be a high quality sound player, although it would be nice if it was. And it surprised me so much, that its sound is clean and hifi, a great big improvement from my mobile phone experience!! And the entire use experience is extremely easy - for me at least.

I am completely unexperienced with music downloads, and have only managed to rip all my CD collection (100-ish) because iTunes makes it so easy, and allows you to filter your music on playlists, which you can then highlight-all then copy to a different external place.

I am still very surprised at Sansa e280's ease of use and sound quality.

I hope if I am lucky enough that it continues to work as it has been, but of course, I am saving my receipt, because it is warrantied for 12 months.

It is not as slim as the ipod though, and it is a bit heavier but nothing that can make it less attractive. On the contrary, I think it has a modern design and easy controls too.

I have not tried all its features, and there are many as I am sure you can check for yourself, but I am looking forward to check 2 features that look interesting for me: (a) it plays movies (mp4) and (b) it is a voice-digital-recorder, which can be useful if you want to use it as a memo, if you have a brilliant idea you wish to capture while e.g. jogging :) happens to me a lot

Samsung YP-S5

The touch buttons arent very sensitive and the speaker is not exceptionaly loud, but loud enough for my purposes. The fact that DNSE can be sent over bluetooth headphones is a major plus, i like men something that my samsung YP-P2 is not yet capable of. The screen is not very big and watching videos on it seems pointless. You can record voice and RADIO that will save straight into your files. Something else that this features that the so called brilliant"Ipod" doesnt is that you can delete files while on your mp3 player, dont have to plug it inot your computer. The YP series is awesomem i own both the P2 and now the S5 both of which in my opinon are better than any i pod (with the exception of the i phone) on the market.

So small and light you can forget you have it with you!

The battery is charged by USB so no good if you're not near a computer. Once charged, it will play MP3s for some three hours or more. It probably shouldn't be thought of as just an MP3 player, as it has a few useful extras: FM radio, stopwatch, in-built microphone for recording. The storage is an inbuilt SD card so it doesn't skip when on the move.

The best aspect of it though is the ability to drag & drop files onto it; there is none of the need-to-use-iTunes to get MP3s onto it (you can also use it to store non MP3 files).

Negative points:
- The headphones supplied with it are basic and not that comfortable. For long periods of usage, a better pair of headphones would be recommended.
- There seems to be a limit as to how many folders you can store. Go past 100 or so and the unit doesn't seem able to see or play additional ones.

Apart from those points everything else is in it's favour.
