OK for the low price

I had a few issues with the little beast, most of which originated from an over-complicated manual and software with instructions (apparently) translated straight from Chinese into English. In other words: I don't understand a thing. The software is necessary if you intend to put videos on to the MP4 player, as any MP4 files are played in a rather uncommon format, AMV. However, when looking for a better manual on the internet, I found a free program from a different source that performs the same task (which I found easy to use). This has solved the problem.
My other problem has not been addressed, though: I made a nice audio mix on Windows Media Player and synchronised. Unfortunately, the player has sorted all tracks by file, and I simply can't get the random program to work - yet!?
In general, for the small price tag the player offers a lot of memory, and a few features that actually work, so as such I can't knock it!!

pretty good but...

I've had this for about a month now and it's pretty good but with a couple of key caveats.

The ergonomics are intuitive and the whole thing seems fairly well bolted together, (I suppose the aerial could be fragile but since it's housed snugly at the back you'd have to be a bit clumsy to break it). The sound quality is good, (better than an iPod to my ears) and the FM radio is good - even if it has an unbelievably stupid preset tuning system in which you have to enter the frequencies using the proprietary software provided on a computer rather than on the device itself, (you can tune it manually on the go but not set anything) - and though the DAB isn't great - I found a ROBI on an iPod was better - so long as I wasn't cycling I could get most stations including the BBC ones in London, (though there is a pretty poor drop off in the centre of town). It does tune out, it does go....blank for a while but I haven't had a - portable - DAB device that hasn't done that; unfortunately it appears to be the technology that's the problem.

My main bugbear is with the software/proprietary system.

I mentioned the FM radio issue but unless you use the bundled software to download albums you'll also find that you have to select your albums one by one, the artwork won't have ported across and you won't be able to play on shuffle. This is - admittedly - a fairly minor point but actually it's fairly annoying if e.g. you've got singles downloaded which will obviously just play and then stop. You have to keep backing out and selecting something else. It's doubly annoying for me since I cycle everywhere which means I tend to have to set it off playing a whole album or a suitably long podcast; browsing it on the go is a no-no unless you fancy disappearing under a bus, (by the way if you're wondering why I haven't used the software it's because I have a Mac though at least you can drag and drop without any problems).

The memory may be an issue for others but it's fine for me; on the other hand I don't keep pictures or video on mine so it's more than adequate.

So it's good but not perfect: on the other hand maybe, (at present) this is about as good as it gets for portable MP3 and DAB in one? Without understanding exactly what the issues are with bolting the 2 together there clearly must be problems since the technology has existed for over half a dozen years for both yet the number of dual-players on the market is tiny and those that do exist seem to have serious issues either with poor memory or performance, etc. It's frustrating to have to purchase something that compares relatively poorly with pure MP3 players of the same price but if - like me - you want a DAB and MP3 player in one I don't think you're going to find anything better than this on the market currently.

Neat design and excellent service

Feastronics supplied me with this neat piece of kit, lovely design, great screen display, very intuitive controls, great sound & the G-motion sensor is very cool.

What impressed me most was their supportive, patient,timely and speedy customer service (both by email and phone). They vastly exceeded my customer expectations, something that is so rare these days. I will have no hesitation recommending Feastronics to my friends.

Much better than you'd think!

After considering a portable digital music player for a while, I decided to get this, principally because it is inexpensive and plays OGG Vorbis files. It's about the size of a forefinger and looks very nice in white. The screen is very bright and clear and is excellent in all lighting conditions. The touch controls are easy to use and intuitive, requiring only the lightest of touches to operate. The menu system is also intuitive and quick, making it very easy to move around the player's menus and select music. Now we get to the important part: the sound quality. My word, it's excellent! I honestly can't believe how good it is for the price and size of device; the presets and equaliser enable you to tailor the sound to your preferences or a music genre, e.g. Rock, Pop etc. The radio, which is a bonus (but I admit that I didn't expect it to work well), actually is brilliant. It gets a good signal and the sound quality is very good. I'm very pleased with this player. It's much better than I had expected for the price. The only two issues I have with it are minor:

* The U.S.B. connector is a bit flimsy, so it's wise to be careful and not knock the device when it's connected to a U.S.B. socket (the connector can be retracted inside the player, otherwise).

* You can't organise the music by tag if you don't use the software included, which means that the music appears on the player by file name and it's necessary to scroll through the list to find a track, though the fast menu system mitigates this problem somewhat.

It even works with Linux, being mounted as a U.S.B. storage device: simply drag the music files to the appropriate file on the player.

All-in-all, it's excellent for the money. I recommend it whole-heartedly!

White MP3 Player

When it arrived I loved it straight away it's perfect size and so easy to use and set up, defti glad i bought it and not spend a fortune on one from elsewhere.

Super MP3 player

Purchased this as a gift for my daughter. So much better than the ipod. Has micro sd slot so you can increase its 2gb size. Micro Sd cards are so cheap it's worth a look. Build quality is solid and sound is great. I am so impressed I will be purchasing one for myself. Version with radio is worth the extra.

Magic Box Imp Adapt Wi-Fi Internet Radio & Media Player

On paper the Imp Adapt looked like the solution to my problem.
By linking my wife's laptop PC (with wifi) to my stereo system I can access radio channels including BBC i-player. This gives me good reception but is inconvenient as I have to connect the PC to the stereo amp whenever I want to use it. An Imp Adapt permanently wired to the stereo and getting a signal from the same wireless router as the PC seemed a reasonable alternative . Having been able to run the PC adjacent to the stereo I felt confident that the Imp Adapt would do the same. THIS WAS NOT THE CASE.

The Imp Adapt was unable to locate my network from the very spot where I can run the PC. Only by locating the ImpAdapt on my workbench adjacent to the router was I able to configure the system and locate radio stations. When I attempt to move the Imp Adapt to its intended location, (a distance of 15 m. horizontally and down one flight of stairs!), I found that it was unable to find the network. Moving the ImpAdapt around the house showed that suitable locations were limited. For example, it will work in the kitchen directly beneath the router, and under the stairs where my wife's PC is located but not at the other end of the house near my stereo.

After various attempts to reconfigure it became apparent that I either moved the router, ( and my Apple Mac workstation etc), or I moved the stereo. rather than solving a problem it made it much worse. It is now back in its box and on its way back to the supplier.

A sincerely good buy

Have owned the Sansa 32Gb for a couple of months now. A really brilliant, quiet and small player that easily fits into one's pockets.

The player easily works through windows media player, and windows player recognises the player easily without loading additional software on your PC. You can easily rip/download music or video through windows media player. And if the video is not in the correct format windows media converts it for you so that you can to see on the Sansa.

A reliable and easily to use menu makes the Ipod overrated. The technology is based on static memory and that means you don't need to wait until the drive starts spinning at the right speed before being able to use it.

The radio isn't bad but it would have been better with a digital radio in the UK. But on the positive side that means you can go travelling with it and use the radio in many different countries.

Have fun with it, the player is brilliant!
