Excellent product, great reviews in Wired etc etc so decided to check it out.

Well worth the money, doubles iPod capacity with no reduction in quality, can quadruple with minor reduction but to be honest i could not notice, the reviews said so while testing on Pink Floyd!

Prolong life of the iPod, until Apple really bring down their prices(ain't gonna happen) and the new touch screen versions are only 16mb!

Vinyl transfer made easy

Audio cleaning lab is a superb and easy to use piece of kit. Transfer of vinyl/cassette to cd is a snip. With patience the results you can achieve are brilliant. The only downside is that you are limited to 20 transfers to MP3, unless you upgrade for £9.99. It will certainly help pass the dark winter nights.

Ok piece of software

I bought this a while ago, whilst it does have some useful application, e.g. cutting tracks, splitting, and allowing you to mix tracks together it leaves the sound of the final saved MP3 tinny. There are free MP3 editors on the web which will do a better cutting job for you and save in the original format. This is one faster and two doesnt disrupt the sound after editing. I cant even say that you get what you pay for as I am now using much better freeware over this piece of kit for the editing; the useful features such as audio mixing are the only part I still may use but even then I avoid it due to the poor sound quality post saving.

Yes, this is a good product BUT it has some problems.

First, the sound is not all it can be given reproduction on CD is bass heavy (and we're talking Quad 909/99 and Gyro Dec with an SME 4 arm plus an Ortofon cartridge AND a special cable from a HiFi specialist). It means you have faff about so as to get the CD to sound like the Lp.

Secondly, the manual is not at all clear. You have to know what you're doing or have an idea what you want entails. (I wrote and managed software for years, so believe me I know what I'm talking about.)

Thirdly, I preferred the 2003 version, which allowed one to scan in Lp covers for CDs - this doesn't.

Does what it says and easy to use

I wanted to record a radio show that I really liked and had heard by accident. Luckily the show was available on the web for 7 days; all I needed was something to let me record it and replay it in a common format, e.g. MP3.
I bought this software and its great. I have just finished recording the hour long show in MP3, having gor delivery today.
The software is installed easily in about 1 minute. The User manual looks comprehensive, simple and to the point; the first chapter I read was recording previous shows from a radio website - ideal, simple clear, took 10 seconds to read. Was very easy to perform.
There are a lot more options in the manual that I havent used yet. But this software is intuitive to use. There is a feature to set the software to record a particular radio programme at some time in the future (as long as your PC is on and connected to the internet; this is a really handy function. I have listened to my show it sounds good enough to me (using my laptop speakers) so Ive no doubt the quality is at least adequate for all but the purest sound buffs. It also allows you to burn the recorded file to CD so you can play it anywhere, although you have it in MP3 format anyway.
A small, easy to install, easy to use, nice user interface, flexible and cheap software that does exactly what it says on the cover.
Recording radio is so handy its essential, at least as much as having a TV recorder. Want to record that special symphony? Pop concert? The Archers? Interview? Drama? Need a timer for setting recordings? Radio has such variety and quality it is far superior to TV. Get some radio recording software and you wont look back. I recommend this, it works great and a cheap price.

I bought this program afgter reading a few of the"for Dummies" books, expecting it to do what it says - IT DOES!

I'm running Windows XP on my desktop computer and the program installs and runs brilliantly! There are no issues or problems, just a few clicks and the program is installed and running. I bought this program because I have a MP3 stereo in my car, and there have been no problems whatsoever. I've put 21 cd's worth of tracks through this software and back onto cd for my stereo and there are no problems with reading the disc,etc.

One thing the"for Dummies" series of books and software do is keep it simple. This program is the simplest music converion software I have ever used. All you need to do is put a cd in the drive, and by clicking on what you want to convert to mp3 and a couple of other click, the program does its job. It also converts the other way too - great for if you download mp3 from the net and want it for your regular stereo system.

It's fast and easy to use - what else do you want the program to do??? It converts to MP3!!!

How can anyone not give this five stars. The price is excellent, the program is quick and simple to use - no whistles and bells, just does its specific job.

If you have loads of cd's and want them converting to mp3 on your pc - buy this piece of software. You won't be dissappointed.

Make your own"Crazy Frog" tune

As the dad of two ringtone mad boys. It was great to find this piece of software. It is easy to use and the kids are over the moon with the fact that they can have as many ringtones as they want and, at no cost.
For less than a tenner, this is great and even I've had to have a play and have got some great 80's tunes on my phone, which the boys find very embarrassing.
Great Fun.

Does exacley what it says on the tin.

I originaly bought this software for chopping tracks to use as ringtones. This does this exceptionaly well. It costs next to nothing for a progrmme that does that. But it also cleans white noise and crackles from the background of recordings as well. Also the user iterface is very easy to use and understand. A top value buy.

Very buggy

I purchased this and have tried it on 2 different PCs - it doesn't work on either.

On an XP machine, I get an error message as soon as I start up my PC. I can then start up VS10, but it always crashes within 5 minutes.

On a Vista machine (only 2 months old, and not caused any other problems), all appears well. However, on closer inspection the volume doesn't come through on any of my clips. Oh, and after about 10/15 minutes of use, the whole thing invariably crashes.

I would avoid this product. It's a shame because from the brief glimpses I've had of it (before it crashes) it looks good. However, it's too unstable to be usable.

You need this!

At first I wasn't sure what the stikax was about but within a half an hour I felt like a DJ at the ministry of sound. Simple to use and it is great with Video and Photographs also. If you have a PC and love music, you need this!
