Great value speakers.
Couple of things to note not yet mentioned by other reviews.
The headphone socket is just a straight pass through, so the volume knob has no effect - you must control the volume via your computer. The speaker power switch on the front can be set to off.
Also, the subwoofer MUST be used. The speakers plug into the subwoofer, which plugs into the main power supply.

I'm very impressed with the sound.
I got those speakers to use with my laptop, listening to music and watching movies, and they are brilliant!!

Amazing but a few things

I got this after reading reviews, I paid for first class delivery and the box came damaged, so I was a bit annoyed about that especially being first class, fortunately it was only a few small rips around the sub area on the box, i advise you to check the box before the delivery man goes away so you can mark it as damaged if it is.

Also the remote interfears with my TV and my TV remote > Vice Versa. I'm currently using this sound system on my PC but if I turn on my Polaroid 26" HDTV it makes my logitech sound controller centre thing do a sound test, it's annoying!!! Can I disable the remote feature on the logitech set-up? Cause it really is annoying me..

Also my PC monitor has a strange line at the top, I don't know if that was there before but the sub is more the 2ft away under my wooden desk but I can't move it away further. But I don't know if thats just my monitor VGA cable messed up.

This is my first 5.1 surround sound kit, I really wanted the sub woofer and the sub kicks out some amazing bass. I just bought orange box on Steam for £24 and them games (portal, episode 1, 2 etc) are truely amazing in surround. I hope to hook up my 360 and PS3 with optical when I buy a longer cable...(it only comes with 3 sound card cables)

It's a great sound system, speakers are nice, but they use cables (I thought satellite meant wireless) but it's great nevertheless, well worth the money if I can fix them few tiny problems.

brilliant design - fatally flawed

What is in a name? Clearly the jivebox has been designed for a market whose listeners ONLY listen to music recorded at consistently high levels. As other reviewers have noted this system flips into standby mode after about 20 seconds of any music that is not unremittingly loud. So if you listen to any kind or style of music that does not hammer away without stopping your jivebox will go to sleep! Such a shame because the sound is superb. The illuminated coloured strip is deeply pointless for anyone over the age of 5 and the simple cloth covering of the many speaker ports does leave one feeling that the unit might be vulnerable to physical damage. Solve the standby issue and this will be a highly competitive unit. In sonic terms easily beating the Bose system at half the price. BUT for now spend your money elsewhere. I replaced this unit with a Klipsch iGroove SXT which is a little cheaper, a lot smaller but with excellent sound as well.

Excellent quality & value

I've had my One in my kitchen for about 7 months now and am very happy with it. It looks neat, the signal is strong, nice full-bodied sound in both FM and DAB modes. I find the buttons/dial combination quite intuitive, the dial just changes its function to suit the context, rather like the the select/reject buttons on a mobile phone. Just press the button and it switches on/off quickly, no need for fiddling about when you're short of time. Excellent value for money.

FANTASTIC QUALITY AT FANTASTIC PRICE!

The other day my Sony Dav blew up, so I looked around on the net and saw a Panasonic home cinema that was reduced in currys. I legged it down to currys in order to buy but was very dissapointed. they had all 5 speakers and subwoofer plugged in and it sounded terrible, the sound quality was appalling. I was on a budget and all the low end ones had shocking sound quality, the only good ones were £600 +. Disheartened, I was just about to leave when I spotted this little baby sitting in a corner. thought it would be rubbish for the price,but what the hell I will give it a go.
turned it on, shoved in a CD and nearly fell over with the shock! The sound quality on this is amazing, the shop only had 1 speaker in and I could tell the difference even then. I then ran home and bought it on Amazon saving about £40.
For the price it is a brilliant system and easily
WORTH DOUBLE THE PRICE. AND BOY IS IT LOUD! as I said,I had a Sony before but this beats it hands down. It is very easy to make mult-region,on the main Amazon page for the specs, there is a link that gives you the remote code, I did it in ablout 5 secs and it works.
Really, truly you can not beat this system for the price, and it does beat many other systems that are a lot more expensive.
great bit of kit that looks like equipment and not a toy, great speakers and great amazing top quality sound and picture! what more could you want?
it does not have an optical input, but I just used a converter to rig up my sky+. even though I had to buy a convertor I would STILL buy this item again. TOP NOTCH SYSTEM.

Klipsch iGroove iPod Speaker System (silver or black)

I'd been searching for ages for an iPod speaker dock system that would rival and maybe even replace my old separates hi-fi system that had started to show its age. (I work in the film industry and used to run a recording studio so good sound is very important to me). I was pretty thorough in my research, home-tested two different units, became a pain to many a shop assistant and also poured over reviews on the net researching which units to test. I finally bought the Klipsch iGroove iPod Speaker System from Amazon and am very happy with it indeed. In fact, I think it is the best sounding iPod speaker dock that I found to date and recommend it most highly.

Speaker docks have two design limitiations:
1) The size of the dock tends to limit the bass response.
2) The way many docks connect to the iPod is via a male socket that plugs into the base of the iPod. This socket is often hard-wired to the pcb of the dock system, is subject to stress when the iPod is plugged in or unplugged and therefore can fail after light use.

The iGroove has a bass port at the back of the unit which is very effective. Additionally, the iPod fits snugly into the cradle on the unit, with a neat slider arrangement embedded into this cradle being adjusted up or down depending on which iPod you fit. (I use this unit with a 5g Video iPod and a 4g 40 Gig iPod just fine). The actual male connector is fixed firm and has no play to it. By adjusting the slider to the correct hight, you can drop the iPod into the unit and take it out again without causing any stress at all to the plug. Also, if you adjust the slider correctly, the iPod cannot move at all when connected, thereby limiting the potential for any stress to the connector.

Untis I tested included the following:
Monitor Audio i-deck Speaker Dock for iPod (I actually bought one of these and although it sounded great, I returned it after a couple of months as the connector failed - a common fault according to Newsgroups)
JBL Onstage II - iPod Speaker System - (very dissappointing sound and really lacked in bass)
JBL Radial - High Performace iPod Speaker System - (although more powerful, still not as impressive as I'd hoped)

Smaller, cheaper units sounded smaller and cheaper! I also read some pretty worrying comments from users of iRythhm regarding failure of the connector...

In summary:-

Pros:
Great sound
Small size
Good price
Excellent build quality

Cons:
Remote is a bit fussy - have to point it directly to the unit as it is infra-red (the Monitor Audio iDock used an RF remote which was much better).

What can i say about this item that sums it up in 1 word...... GGGGEEEEZZZZUUUUUSSSSS!!!!
Yeah i think that says it.

The speakers are easy to know what goes with what because there colour coded the only problem i had was because i had it on my walls the wire was too short but easily solved with some AV Femail connectors just to extend the wire and now i have it in the ideal place.

The Sub is somewhat small but dont let size put you down, it rocks the house!, The only thing i found wrong was that the sub speaker is showing at the bottom but if you have it on the floor where you can't see it then all is well!.

The control is easy to use and the dials turn nice and easy. wires a little bit short but you just have to play around with where you put the Sub and you can have it in your ideal place.

Now onto the sound and wow! i think the ideal place to have the sound is in the middle for the Sub and Main Volume (Half way) and have matrix mode on because it sounds awsum!.
Nothing can explain how well this thing is, there is no distortion and trust me i have got carried away with some songs and they have gone up loud.

Oh did i say get it from Amazon! just don't look anywhere else ... i was amazed how quick it got to my door.

Amazing sound and a modern look! just what you want in this system.

Logitech really have out done there self (Even if its an old system).

GREAT BUILD QUALITY, GREAT BIG SOUND

I've just bought one of these for my wife's Nano 3G. I listened to quite a few speaker docks first but thought this by far and away the best value for money (even more so when I found it came with a remote, which works well). For such a small unit (a distinct plus for travel) the sound projects into the room very well. Its small size means it initially sounded a bit bass-light, but using the + bass equalizer option on the Nano ups the bass without sounding boomy or overblown (my Grado headphones don't need the boost). Build quality achieves the apparent contradiction of feeling light but solid at the same time. My Cyrus hi-fi won't be being traded in, but I have to say that for the money, the more I listen to this JBL dock, the more it impresses.

Fault

I am not sure how common this is, but the display on the one I bought stopped working after about 3 months. It remained illuminated by light (i.e. blue) but all of the white text disappeared. Nothing else was wrong with it, it could, for example, play and change channels, but as you can imagine it was thereafter unusable. Before that the only other niggle was that the light display was too bright for a bedroom. Ironically after the display stopped working, this problem remained with no way to remedy it by navigating my way to the display options! If it were not for this fault, though it would have been a good radio with a good sound.

Mighty Mice

Great speakers, really good sound for camping or on holiday, although make sure to treat them with care as they are delicate. Just a word of warning, I received mine from an Amazon Marketplace seller (iTALKonline), and I did not receive a carry case or instructions. Contacted them and was told to return them, which is a rubbish option. Why were they unpacked if they were new? Just check before you buy.

More than happy with i80

Having purchased my Ipod Nano I was very keen to get a portable speaker to compliment the great sound - and the i80 certainly succeeds in doing this. I took it on holiday to Ibiza and played it every night before we went out, as well as on the beach during the day. The sound quality is amazing for such a small speaker, and a little added bonus that I didn't realise was that your Nano can also be charged through the speaker as well! £50 well spent!!!!

RUBBISH RUBBISH RUBBISH

They claim this is eco friendly. you only get 3 to 4 min DAB usage when winding up. WHAT IST THE POINT?
had it 2 mins once i found this out i packed it up and returned it. The unit is heavy and ugly. you can only get long term usage if your connect it to the mains and charge it once again WHAT IS THE POINT?

GO AND BUY A CHEAP DAB WITH RECHARGABLE BATTERIES.

Seriously excellent - you must buy these!

I bought these thinking they must be ok if they were originally £70, and also Philips - a well known brand! However I am even more delighted since I set them up and started listening to my music! I've played Classical and Rock on them so far and I have to say the mid range is better than some dedicated radios/hi-fi systems i've heard - I am more than happy with this product and I've already recommended it to a number of my friends!

Great to look at too, charges my Ipod Nano 2nd Gen without any issues - just can't wait to use it when i'm on holiday now!

Rubbish customer experience

If Logitech can't be bothered to manufacture a version with a UK plug, or at least supply a decent adaptor, then don't bother buying the product. The plug is a US one and it simply falls out of the supplied adaptor. All in all a truly rubbish customer experience.

Very pleased with this product. Using it for video chat on a Mac.
- USB plug & play works well: device is recognised immediately
- has very useful controls built in to headset: volume up/down & mic mute
- mic boom is rubber which is better than plastic, in my opinion. folds up to vertical position when not in use which is also useful
- the audio quality is very clear in audio/video chats for myself & the other participants
- lastly, the headset is light & comfortable, although the earphones could be a little bigger

Not an Awesome Sound

but very impressive for the size. These speakers are never going to rattle the windows or replace your home stereo, but the sound from such a small device is extrordinary. If you are looking for good quality portable speakers I would happily recommend these.

Jabra BT5010 Bluetooth Headset

Quick delivery ordered just yesterday came today sound is ok could be better but what can you say about the price worth the buy if you want to go online with your ps3 or make call's with your moblie this is all good. If you want to pair it with your ps3 just do this first see if your headset is off now then hold the on/off button down until you see the blue light stay's steel that should be on pair mode then go to your PS3's XMB go to 'Settings'

Once it starts to scan then after a few moments your screen should display the headset that it found. A screen will display 'Select the Bluetooth device to register' with the headset listed accept the headset a screen will display 'Pass Key' this is the pass key to register the headset the headsets 'pass key is 0000' then you should see the screen say 'Register Completed'
Now go back to the 'Accessory Settings' and select Audio Device Settings From there set your microphone level and make any adjustments you need i hope this come's in handy for who wants to buy this product.

These are not for Kids

I had grown wearied at listening to my music through less than average speakers that only boasted a total of 100 watts output and the worst clarity you could imagine.

So I bought these.

They arrived the very next day - the box was bigger and heavier than expected...good god, what i have bought? Luckily I got a lift home.

I opened the box to be greeted first by a menacing and slightly intimidating subwoofer. I was scared. The pictures are not a good reference as to just how big the sub is, and whilst this is big, black and foreboding the satellites are small, sleek and quite unimpressive to look at and you'd be forgiven in thinking that someone at Logitech was having a laugh, literally at your expense.

I connected it up and I was ready to go and it was with some trepidation that I pushed the play button on my Mac. The only way I can describe what happened next is to use an analogy: It was like going from 0 to 60 mph in 3 seconds. My wooden floor reverberated and my walls shook. My house mate walked into my room and exclaimed a word, actually a phrase, not suitable for this website, which ended in"I'm glad that I'm moving out in a month." That was with the volume only half way up!

I tested these speakers out on a Star Wars funk track by Meco which samples an array of sound bytes such as laser beams combined with big brass instruments, it suitably passed the test; at one stage during the track my head snapped to the right and I instinctively began to duck for cover: no, it was alright I hadn't been shot at with a laser gun it was just my awesome satellites sending out pitch perfect quality sound. Indeed no one at Logitech was having a laugh it was in fact me.

As such my housemates are now planning to throw a house party so that we can really test them out - I fear for our neighbours.

The only reason I haven't given these 5 stars is that I believe there is always something out there which is better and that nothing is truly perfect.

These truly are a quality purchase and to think that at one stage I was considering to buying a Bose system retailing at £200+ for perhaps the same sound quality.

My words to Bose: Jog on!
