Don't worry about the sticky sticker!

The reviews for this product are justifiably glowing. It is so easy to use and the absence of wires all over your room is a real boon for folks like me (and my wife!) who are sick of clutter and mess.
The sound quality is far better than I expected. I think that the quality when listening to classical cds is sweet and musical. I also think that the FM quality is good. All this I cannot even receive DAB in the part of Gloucestershire in which I live!
Oh, and don't worry about the sticky sticker. My unit had a simple polythene label which left no mark when easily removed.

Very Strongly Recommended!

I'm thrilled by these speakers which have owned now for over six months. They are great to travel with (and fold flat to approximately the size of a tall paperback book) but I'm so attached to them I use them at home too.The sound quality is uncoloured, and the lower frequencies amazingly present and warm for such a small unit. I was so impressed that I looked up"Maxx Bass" technology on the net - I've always imagined such things to be just a crude boost to low frequencies but this is something much cleverer and aesthetically vastly more impressive: the overall impression of the sound is very natural.There is as much volume available as anyone could reasonably expect from a unit of this size. Connection is via a choice of the internally retractable 3.5mm lead or via a second 3.5mm line-in socket (3.5mm is the standard Walkman / iPod headphone connector size). I use the internal lead to connect to the headphone output of my Creative Zen Vision:M and get the best sound, to my delight, with the player EQ off. If you turn the player to absolutely maximum volume it distorts the input, and line level signals do the same, but up to about 90% headphone output level sounds gorgeous.A set of four of my own AA NiMH rechargeable batteries will run this unit for hours (likely due to the unusual and efficient 'Class D' amplifier design), and the included mains adaptor is very lightweight to travel with.Any system such as this suffers from technical limitations: it can't possibly offer the power, frequency response or freedom from distortion of a hi-fi system. However this system offers by far the best subjective experience of any comparable lightweight portable system I've come across (I auditioned a bunch of them before buying). I'm getting used to amazed reactions from friends as to how great these little speakers sound. Want to amaze YOUR friends? These are worth a try...

I bought the system to accompany my new Dell computer because i was told that they were fantastic by a friend. Having used them for about 2 months i must admit im not disappointed at all with my purchase. The sound quality and bass is very very good given the size of the system. I would definately recommend them to anyone looking to purchase 2.1 speakers to use with their comp or their ipod. The red colour in the jbl speakers is actually much nicer than the variations even though its cheaper! perhaps worth some consideration...

This excellent iPod dock has surpassed all my expectations. There is no doubt it out performs competitor products (Bose, Apple HiFi) having heard these other devices. Altec Lansing have always been in the speaker business and this becomes very clear with this product. Although not high end Hi-Fi, it fills the room with excellent sound and has the added advantage over the competition in that there is very neat bass and treble adjustment with clever hidden level indicators. My taste in music is eclectic, and I find this system faithfully reproduces music right across all genres of music. I definitely recommend this product over the competition, with the added bonus it is the cheapest in it's class.

It Does What It Says On The Tin!

It's a great little radio with very good DAB and FM reception. The small speaker is not brilliant but I expected that. If I use my Sony headphones or plug it into an external amp it's great.

The FM reception is better than the other radios in the house. It's easy to use. The DAB reception cannot be faulted.

The only major annoyance is that it wasn't delivered with a suitcase full of used ten pound notes :-D

I have resisted the temptation to buy DAB since I live in an area where it is very difficult to receive FM and television signals, side of a hill and everything. Also put off by the generally over £100 price tags of decent makes - eg PURE which always gets excellent reviews. When I saw the One advertised I went for it - and I am NOT DISAPPOINTED. It picks up a vast number of stations, all the main BBC ones no trouble, in fact I think only three or four stations in this area can't be received. And the FM reception is vastly superior to any other radios in the house.

This is an attractive radio - I actually have the white one, I think the black one looks a bit cheaply plastic, whereas the white is cool - my daughter preferred the pink one. Huge extending aerial seems the reason for the good station pickup. Good sound, with reasonable bass. Although there's only one speaker it picks up stereo and has a stereo headphone jack to plug in your hi-fi if you need it. 20 presets, which you access by pushing the preset button and turning the big dial to choose your favourite - pushing the dial acts like an enter key. You get to choose options for what appears on the display, you can update its software through a USB port (obviously not needed to do this yet) and its even got sleep and wake-up timers on it. A great boys toy...

As I have pointed out, I have never had a DAB radio so can't do a comparison, but the sound and looks are great, its intuitive to use, and the price is a killer for a PURE radio. Excellent. Quibbles? None really, except that if you want to be able to make it portable its looks like the best bet is to buy a chargePAK, which recharges when you plug the radio in the mains and then powers it when you unplug, and they seem expensive to me at thirty quid.

In short - if you've dallied and delayed in dabbling with DAB - this is The ONE - groan...

Excellent, no fuss, no nonsense DAB radio - Straight forward setup and facilities - Use as a radio’ great sound - Battery life is 10 -15 hours; much better than anything else on the market.

Use as a mini-amp with mp3/CD player etc Super! Compact and Cute.

Pure Delight!

Good for the price

For around £15 these speakers are pretty good. The cables are of a decent length and most importantly the sound quality is quite good. Obviously these don't sound as good as a decent hi-fi, but the bass is reasonable for £15 units. So I would recommend these for general/background music on your PC. However if your PC is your main media centre then you'll likely want to spend nearer £100 on a speaker set.

Great portable sound

These mini speakers are great! They can be used in different configurations: V-shaped, vertical, opened horizontally...etc. They sound good and look good. Well worth having in my opinion.

Amazing value!!

I'm not one that's impressed easily but this gets my vote. Really pleased by sound quality and for this price it really is a bargain. It also looks real classy too. You will be amazed at the volume level of this device. Approx dimensions are 31(w)x 12(h)cm. It comes with remote control (incl battery) with functions for power, bass, treble, volume, mute, play, forward and rewind. It also comes with mains adapter, brackets for ipod's in different sizes and 3.5mm headphone cable to connect other mp3 players. Get it while you can!

Not impressed

I was unsure about this product as it was not powered but the other reviews gave me confidence to give the speakers a try. I should have stuck with my instincts, the output is poor and tinny.

Regret not buying this sooner!!!!

I think just about everything has been written about what this radio is capable of. My advice is buy it, shop around for the best price obviously, presently around £160. For goodness sake don't worry about DAB + compatibility ( its a few years away ) Just buy it and enjoy the truely amazing sound this produces. I guarantee you will fall in love with this remarkable piece of technology.
PS I was thinking of writing 4 or 5 paragraphs of pro and cons, but its all been done. I'm a DAB freek ! Heard and played around with loads of kit including radios in the Pure range, but presently this is overall the best DAB you can buy.

Effective and simple to use

Excellent piece of kit. I bought this as am new to playing the guitar, and used it to tune both an acoustic and electric guitar in less than 2 minutes each. You can either hold the guitar next to the onboard mic and tune, or plug in via an input jack - either way the tuner works fine. It also makes it easy to tune your guitar up or down a step too as the display simply shows which note you are playing (including flat or sharp), and a little needle hovers around the display and centres when you are exactly 'on' that note. Highly recommended.

We bought this after reading all the positive reviews. We are delighted with the sound (even my musician husband loves the sound!). It is stylish. It has an audio in jack and I connected this to our LG TV and was immediatley impressed with the improved richness of the sound as compared to the TV speakers. It is very portable. Took a little while to master the remote controls but once mastered is easy to use. At the time of writing Amazon is selling this for just over £150 compared to nearly £200 at Currys and other highstreet electrical shops. Took three weeks to delivery but worth the wait.
