Nice but don't expect too much
Requires some reasonable brightness in the day to work. Did not work the first few days due to being very overcast. But creates a nice subtle effect when they are working and are so much easier than lights requiring cabling.28

My wife says I have an unhealthy attachment to this torch. I think of the torches of my childhood - big, cheap, fragile, always breaking a bulb, running out of batteries, rusting or just falling apart like the cheap tin cylinders they were.Compared to those, this torch is a work of art. The ambient night light it provides is really good, keeps a beady eye on the cars and ensures that people can see any suspish characters lurking around at all times.
The PIR unit is a bit weak, but its sufficient for the purpose, as the ambient light does cast pretty far.
Definitely recommended, especially if you put in an even lower watt bulb, as we did.

Great Dual Purpose Unit
We had standard security lights in place on our double garage. When the unit blew, we decided to buy this dual unit.
