Don't waste your money on other models

Like another reviewer, I had to throw out my ghds a couple of years ago (again, only because I trod on them and broke them!) and, thinking I would save myself some money, bought some cheaper ones. Since then I have had 3 different types which have all been disappointing and all together have ended up costing me the same as a set of ghds anyway. Ghds straighten your hair in less time, the style lasts far longer and they limit damage to your hair - they're worth the price tag.

Clean teeth

This is an excellent, powerful electric toothbrush. I have long been a fan of manual brushing as I felt it cleaned better. After using this brush for a while not only are my teeth whiter but they feel much better. In addition to this my gums do not bleed anymore as the brush does the work so you dont mash the bristles into your teeth.

I especially find the timer function of this brush a real use. I never used to know how long to brush for but with the 2 minute timer inbuilt into the brush now I do. The brush pulses every 30 seconds to alert you to change the area of your mouth you are brushing, in this manner you spend 30 seconds on upper left 30 on upper right etc. It may sound silly but this gives brushing more purpose and I personally find it less of a chore. All in all an excellent value brush, I havent seen better for the price and I have looked at a great many.

Excellent VALUE

Amazon has the BEST price for Braun toothbrush replacement heads. Boots charges £7.49 for a pack of 2, which equates to £29.96 for 8!!

Recommend always checking the price of 4-pack & 8-pack. Prices do flucutate, and there have been occasions when it's been cheaper to purchase two 4-packs (I've been buying them for a couple of years).

fantastic epilator

Great value for a great machine. The narrow head for facial hair is very useful and the light is a brilliant idea. After first time pain especially underarm, it definately gets easier and less painful and leaves excellent smooth skin. No pin prick marks like shaving leaveson your legs.

Nivia For Men

I`ve had dry skin for years, & used all sorts of creams prescribed by my doctor, all failed to improve my condition. Two months ago I bought the Philips Moisturising Shaving System. My skin was normal again within tnree weeks and was greatly improved within a few days.I`m an old man of 74 yrs but with skin like a baby.

Just Brilliant

Having always used a manual toothbrush I decided to switch to an electric toothbrush after a friend had recommended it to me.

And I'm really pleased I did, this was money well worth spent! My teeth have never felt so clean!

All the other reviews on here have said it all for me so I'm not going to go into any more detail!

fantastic product for this price!!

i was browsing around for a new electric toothbrush and i came across this product with sonic technology, and seeing it was half the price i instinctively brought one. For 12 months i was using braun, it was great while it lasted but once i started using the HX7351 i could tell the difference.... who knew that 2 minutes is all it takes to give you lasting fresh breath through out the day. The sonic waves gave a tingling feeling during the first brush but nevertheless got use to the sensation. I recommend this product to anyone and at this price who can argue!

Smart little piece of kit!!!

I bought this after reading through the previous reviews which were very helpful. I have just used it for the first time.....
Err... WOWWWW!!!! Well done previous reviewers. This is the dogs wotsits. It is so easy and quick to use and it doesn't snag or cut you at all. Its almost fun to use, and thats saying something for a bloke! Nose hairs-no problems, ears-a doddle, and as for the eyebrows, my wife is in raptures by the ease that it cuts them so evenly and the look it gives me (I had to admit my eyebrows did have wierd life of their own, BUT NO MORE!) This is brilliant, dont look any further, buy one now.

Good stuff

I’ve been using the oral b electric toothbrush for years because I found it hard to reach my back teeth with a normal brush. I find them really good and easy to use however, if anyone out there wears braces like I did for years you will find that the brush will wear down a lot quicker and will splay out. This is to be expected of all brushes tho so dont let this put you off. Overall they are great.

No More Stubble Trouble

First of all, I can categorically state that this shaver can indeed shave as close as a blade.
And considering my coarse, luxuriant facial fungus that has for many years meant wet shaving only twice weekly, this is no mean feat.
That said, the shaver must be used in the same manner as you would a blade... against the grain, lifting skin to make hairs below stand up etc, with a few circular `Philishave' movements thrown in for good measure.

The Nivea lube works quite well, but it has three main drawbacks:
It's expensive;
You'll use a lot of it;
It smells like your dad's cheap aftershave and utterly overwhelms any finer fragrance you might care to dab on.

Not to worry, though, as the shaver is eminently hackable!
Take the grey top off the Nivea canister and you'll find the lube injector inside.
Pull it off.
Get some King Of Shaves gel (roughly half the price of a Nivea refill), open the lid and gently widen the hole that the gel comes out (carefully, with a pair of scissors) until the injector assembly fits snugly inside.
Unscrew the lid and widen the hole that feeds the previous one.
Screw back together.
Now plunge said injector into the back of the shaver and squeeze.
Superior lube and nice fragrance are yours.

If you think you might go along the hack route, then you don't really need the 8060 and its associated Nivea lube recharging station and would be better off with either of the two cheaper Coolshaves (8020 and 8040) which have the same shaving heads, but have lost some LEDs that serve only to indicate charge status and are redundant if the shaver is charged after every use.

I've been using the hacked system daily for a couple of weeks now and have achieved super-smooth, burn-free results by using a shaving oil along with the gel.
As well as keeping your face slippery throughout the shave, the oil also cuts down on the number of times the lube button needs to be pressed, so making it go much further.

Oh, one last thing... expect to buy a shaver adapter.

Requires effort does work but weak combs

Ignored the reviews at my peril, the comb snapped on 2nd use, they are very weak with a thin slither of plastic holding them to the unit. The unit itself seems to take a considerable time to cut but gets there in the end, recommended, no...

It's child friendly

I saw these being used in the hospital and was impressed at how quick they were. Can understand why too with the pre-warming technique for the probe. It was becoming a challenge to take temperature of my youngest child, especially when she was unwell. The Braun was used at hospital for her after which we had to seriously consider getting one. It's child friendliness and accuracy have made it invaluable. Daughter responds much better to it so it gets 5 stars from us.

Fantastic mat

I am very impressed with this heat proof storage mat. It goes perfect with my straightners and is ideal if you need to unattend them for a little while. It stops your belongings from getting damaged and is great for packing away when you go on holiday. It was quickly delivered too.

Top top Shaver for £29.00 all in with the postage

Contrary to Big Daddys review my Philips is as quiet as a mouse and all I can say is Dave you got a duff one if yours is making that much noise, you can hardly hear it with its super quiet motor..Way quieter than my old Philips rechargeable which I had for over 6 years until I saw this and got it for peanuts instead of the £90+ price tag it is everywhere else..

Having now owned this Philips rechargeable Shaver around 4 weeks I think its time for the review on it..

Shave is good and close but not as good as a Razor but then you wouldn't expect it to be would you, this does a fine job of collecting and cutting all length hairs in all directions even under the neck area and under the nose creases..
It also has a built in pop up trimmer for sideburns and eyebrows and this does a great job at keeping the bushy brows under control, my only gripe is that it don't come with an adaptor for the plug but you can't have everything, found one in a local bargain store for 50p so I'm happy..

You can wash this model under the tap aswell which is just brilliant and saves me ages having to brush my last one out every other shave which was a chore to be honest, but this is clean in under 30 seconds and just leave it open to dry out naturally in the air.

All in all for the price I paid I'm made up..Well worth double the price and more I just hope it gives me as much trouble free shaving as my old Philips has..

Hot Pink Mk 4 Limited Edition GHDs

After searching for the Hot Pink Mk 4 (2007) GHD hair straighteners, I didn't think I would get them for less than £165. After searching on Amazon (under the pale pink photo, but looking at the descriptions you can find the Hot Pink Mk 4 GHDs - so it is rather confusing). I e-mailed BevSales (the person i bought the GHDs from) and she promptly sent me an e-mail back with a photo, assuring me that I was indeed buying the correct GHDs. Thank you Bev for being so efficient and putting my mind at rest. My daughter will now have the best birthday ever!!!

Quiet and does a wonderful job, so impressed with this electric shaver which represents excellent value for money.

Terrific Value

I've had these straighteners for 2 years now and they are still working perfectly. I still can't believe they cost so little and do such a great job. My friends and relations who bought GHDs are all kicking themselves, as my cheapie Babyliss ones are just as effective, with a cordless option to boot. With reference to the poor review about daughter's singed hair - anything this hot will certainly do harm if used excessively or at full heat on fine hair. I have thick hair, quite coarse at the back and do sometimes notice a singed smell, which washes out. If I didn't use them at the maximum temperature, then I wouldn't achieve straight hair. Ideal for those with mid to long, thick, coarse hair and an absolute steal!!

Just what I need!

I'm very impressed- these are my first set of electronic scales. The display is easy to read and I like that you can have either stone, kg or lb read outs. Very easy to use- just tap with your foot, wait until display reads zero, jump on and wait for your read out. As soon as you get off the scales, they switch off automatically.
I did pay a bit more than I planned for these, based on good reviews from others, and am impressed so far. I will be interested to see how long the battery lasts- that was my main reason for choosing these scales over a cheaper set- most of them seemed to eat the batteries.
A good buy!

Excellent Product!

Like other reviewers I found my electric trimmer never quite did the job, especially against the thicker (white) nasal hairs - They would often fray or snag in the trimmer (ouch).

This one though... carried out its intended task within seconds of me opening the packaging! If fact it took me longer to open the packaging...

Having used the trimmer a couple of times I've found upon removing the trimmer from your nostril, make sure you keep twisting it, otherwise - like me you'll suffer the perils of yanking on hair stuck midway between the cutters...

Even with that it's brilliant! I've just bought another two as gifts.

Remember - KEEP TWISTING :)

Clean, fresh shave

This is a great shaving system. I used to get bad shavers rashes when using all the other well-known branded razors and shaving foams (even the sensitibe ones). The Braun shaver and these refils are extremely clean and hygenic, leaving my face and neck with a lovely soft feeling. One refil lasts about 2.5 months and after the initial investment in the shaver & kit, it's a really economical way of achieving what I see as the closest, clreanest shave available.
