expensive, but worth it

I was a little intrigued to see what all the fuss was about - after all, it's not everyone who can spend this sort of money on a toothbrush. Was it really worth the cost?

Oh yes. Once you've got used to the noise and sensation of the sonic cleaning, it's really quite refreshing. Even after the first brushing my teeth felt noticeably cleaner, almost 'fresh from the dentist' clean. I love the little beep which tells you when to move on to the next quadrant of your mouth too. The massage setting takes a bit of getting used to, and I'm not sure I'd ever use the short 1 minute clean.

The base unit is neat too - pop the heads into the UV sanitising bit, press a button and a funky blue glow comes out of a tiny window in the door.

The only downside then is the price (plus the price of new heads). Look at it this way. Some people drive cheap cars, some drive Jaguars or Aston Martins. This is the Aston of the toothbrush world. If you can afford one, I'd highly recommend picking on up. You won't regret it.

Recommended - using this dryer made my hair sleeker and soft feeling. It blows the heat at a gentle enough speed which makes styling easy. I am very pleased I purchased it.

IT'S THE VACUUM THAT MADE ME CHOOSE IT

THERE'S A LOT OF THESE ITEMS ON THE MARKET SO IT'S ALWAYS DIFFICULT TO CHOOSE ONE. PHILIPS IS GOOD BRAND (TO ME AT LEAST) & IT WAS THE VACUUM FEATURE THAT MADE ME GO FOR IT. ADMITTEDLY, IT IS SLIGHTLY LARGER THATN OTHER TRIMMERS (DUE TO THE VACUUM) BUT IT IS POWERFUL (SLIGHTLY NOISY) LASTS LONG ON A CHARGE & THE COMB HAS MANY ZOOM SETTINGS.

I PERSONALLY FELT 1 COMB WAS ADEQUATE (IT SAVES CLUTTERING UP THE PLACE) & IT DOES A GOOD JOB GLIDING ON YOUR FACE. IF YOU TRIM WITHOUT THE COMB, TAKE YOUR TIME THE 1ST & 2ND TIME AS YOU MAY"SCRATCH" YOURSELF WITH THE BLADES.

A GOOD POINT IS THAT THE BLADES DON'T NEED OILING & YOU CAN USE IT FOR BASIC HAIR TRIMMING, ESPECIALLY YOUR SIDES, BUT OFCOURSE START ON A HIGH LENGTH SETTING & WORK YOUR WAY DOWN.
A BAD POINT IS THAT ON A THICK STUBBLE, WITH THE COMB REMOVED, THE BLADES AREN'T AS PRECISION AS I WOULD HAVE LIKED TO STYLE SIDEBURNS.

YOU CAN ALSO USE IT TO TRIM YOUR MOUSTACHE.

1 THING TO BE CAREFUL ABOUT, ALTOUGH IT SAYS YOU CAN"LOCK-IN" YOUR LENGTH SETTINGS, DON'T OVER PRESS WHEN TRIMMING, ESPECIALLY ON YOUR MOUSTACHE AS THE COMB CAN SLIP 1 OR 2 SETTINGS CLOSER TO THE SKIN, AS HAPPENNED ONCE WITH ME WHEN TRIMMING MY MOUSTACHE BUT LUCKILY IT WASN'T A GREAT DISASTER.
OVERALL, A QUALITY PRODUCT & IT BEING SLIGHTLY LARGER & THE NOISE QUITE LOUD, WERE NOT MUCH OF AN ISSUE.

6 Second Abs-olute Garbage

This 6 second abs was a replacement for an original that I bought because one of the bands had broken, I purchased what was advertised as an original 6 Second Abs but when it arrived the item was obviously a complete rip off with sub-sub-standard manufacture, stick on lables and flimsey red and yellow stretch bands. The screws had started popping through the thin plastic body.

Feels flimsy and is flimsy

After 40 years of using Philips products, I was attracted to this Remington by its price and design credentials.

First of all, it has no feeling of solidity in the hand, and doesn't settle. It has the feel of a cheap children's toy and you have no confidence in holding it.

Having said that, it gave me a very close shave on the first occasion that I used it.

On the second occasion, however, one of the cutter foil assemblies popped out of the housing, leaving me trying to shave with a rotating shaft against my skin. As I lifted it away, the pathetic little plastic catch holding the head assembly in place flew off, leaving the head assembly, with its two remaining cutters, flapping about.

This really shouldn't be on sale - it's dangerous.

Extremely unruly curly hair and yet; they work!

I have always managed to straighten my hair with low to mid range straighteners. But when I say straighten it was not anything like the hairdressers could get it. I try to blow dry my hair as straight as I can first to ease the straighteners job along but this morning I opened my new Pro 230's and quickly dried my hair into what I can only describe as an uncontrollable ball of frizz as I had no time to blow dry properly. I then straightened my very thick, dry, curly hair in under 20 minutes! It normally takes an hour AT LEAST!
Wow, these are really good! I have used GHD's before but never owned them, I am sure these are better! Or at the very least, as good as. The reviews are great but I was put off a little in case all the reviewers had wavy hair rather than a mane like me! But they worked really well and the cord that moves with the straighteners is really handy, the section clips do not even penetrate my hair though!

Ghd is the best hair straightener i have ever used & i have tried & tested them all! some from the best brand names as advertised on Tv. But they are no match against Ghd this is the number one product for the best in hair straightening. It gives the best perfect straight; so hair is left silky & it takes about 10 mintutes to straighten, & i can leave my hair like this up until the next wash a few days later. So you dont have to continually straighten hair as the perfect straight only stays with Ghd & i can assure you no other hair straightener does this. Now with the MK 4 styler this is fantastic because tongs never manage to curl, flick or wave hair properly bur the ghd styler does this in seconds giving luscious locks so curls look bouncy & waves look natural & perfect.
So this is the best buy ever. Money well spent.

DO NOT BUY!!! GOOD REVIEWS HERE OBVIOUSLY FAKES!!

It's actually practically impossible to find anything positive to say about this. So i'll stop trying.
This is an abismally designed piece of cr*p. It was probably never tested.. and if so no one cared that IT DOESN'T WORK. Simple flaws like the over flow float cutting suction after around 30seconds of use. To get suction back you have to switch it off and on again.. then you get around 10 seconds. I bet you don't believe me."you've over foamed it" you'll say.. or maybe"it's full" but no and indeed no, I really couldn't believe it either... IT DOESN'T WORK. Really. I'm an engineer and a technician.. I know when things are just rubbish, even if I can't quite believe it. This could easily of been fixed with a little and obvious change in design.
Another problem is the tank.. it leaks.. just keeps coming. Another ridiculous piece of bad design.. Why have the rubber water seal at the bottom of the tank?? Why not a straw??? Why o why. Oh! I near forgot to mention.. It doesn't clean much either.
The manual can be found in the dictionary under"something completely pointless" It spends more time describing how to attach tubes ur not gonna use any time soon, than it does on how to use the thing.. They were probably too ashamed to describe how it doesn't work. They also make reference to various parts by various diferent names, just to keep you guessing.. and even have some instructions obviously off a different model.. seems they haven't read their manual either. I've glanced over the good reviews here and can only speculate that these people work for vax.. read them.. they even have cheesy tag lines. Please don't buy this. Just get a wet and dry hoover.. they're like 30 quid.. and hand shampoo then hoover. MUCH MUCH quicker.. and MUCH MUCH BETTER!! Good luck guys.. don't trust the fake reviews

Fabulous!

I bought my GHDs in January 2007 and haven't looked back! I have long hair and the wide plates make it so easy to get it completely straight, plus it only takes about 10 mins. I use them all the time as they're just so convenient. I also have some Remington straighteners with large plates, they're good too but cannot compare to the GHDs. Girls, get some, they're fab!

One more for the battery failure

As so many others have said - a great toothbrush whilst it works, but sooner or later the battery will fail. Mine lasted 2 years, whereupon the charge held for about 2 days and shortly after not at all. Reading the reviews it seems that they all go this way in the end and mine is no different. Ah well.

Walking to fitness

Have just bought this product, mainly based on reviews and Amazon pricing.
Not disappointed with either. Easy to set up and use. is accurate and looks stylish. Excellent product. Only downside so far is the fiddly set button, but I do have large hands.

What a bargain

I too wanted to make use of the free postage and packing on my book order - and this is just the thing! Does what it says on the package and saves you money into the bargain - thanks Amazon, another item for which I don't have to visit a supermarket to purchase!

bought this for hubbys birthday put it on charge and when he first started using it it was so quiet he thought it was going to be rubbish but couldnt believe how good a shave it gave other shavers he has used to sound like there going to take off but this is so quiet and gave an excellent shave,real value for money if you want a fab shaver at low price

Rather buy one that works

I had to return this item as it was functionally useless. The reading was not only very erratic but very different to the one I got from holding the sensors on the gym equipment.

Reasonable shave

Thought I better post my comments as I used amazon reviews to decide if I would keep this Christmas present.

My rating is a 4. Had not used an electric shaver since my dads 20 year old face ripper many years ago but was getting bored wet shaving so decided a change was due.

Posatives. Quick charge still going after a month with a shave most days. Good design easy cleaning.

Negatives. Face ripping is still not totally gone but much improved. I think shaving with heavy growth would not be for this shaver but as a daily quickie very acceptable.

Conclusions. Long battery life, quick daily shave not far off a wet shave.
I did get some rash at first but I put this down to a new way of shaving. Bought some aftershave balm and 1 month on, no real problems.
I have nothing else to compare this to but have no problems recommending with limitations mentioned.

ATC-2K action camera

I went on holiday during the Xmas break and it was snowing where I was. Obviously I came prepared with jacket, hat, gloves etc. I was a bit concerned about turning my ATC-2K cam on and off though. I didn't want to take my gloves off just to do that. Turned out fine though, I just listened for the beeping noise it makes for on and off. Also, the manual says to use a heat pouch it sells, or is planning on selling, in cold weather along with lithium batteries. At times the temp was below freezing and my cam worked fine without either! There was one time when it was a bit slow though so I took out the batts and held them in my hand for a minute to warm them up. It went back to its normal speed after that. It's a plug and play cam so no need to use a CD to install, just the USB cord. The video quality obviously isn't as good as a normal video camera but that's expected as it's designed for extreme sports. It's also a handy size, fits into my pocket easily and only needs 2 AA batts.

patience is a virtue

Have been an avid fan of epilating and having been through two braun silk epils I figured I would try another brand, as the braun don't seem to last very long before the motor grinds to a halt and you are unable to thoroughly clean the properly.
Well although the wet approach appeals, it is unbelievably time consuming. It took at least double the normal time to do my legs and I'm not particularly hairy. The second and most important point is that this epilator tends to snap the hair instead of pulling it out from the root, therefore making it pretty pointless as you end up with stubble.
I would not recommend this product and will be inclined to look for another.
