Treat yourself to a new shave

I had forgotten how close the 8000 shaved till I replaced the foil and cutter. Mine had done about 300 shaves since I bought the original shaver and I have noticed a marked improvement in the quality of the shave after replacing the cutter and foil.

Excellent! And ignore the comments about the battery not being replaceable, it is incorrect!

Bought this on the recommendation of a friend who has one, as I've just started running, along with mountain biking and circuit training.
Firstly, IGNORE THE COMMENTS ABOUT THE BATTERY NOT BEING REPLACEABLE.
It was the first thing I looked at when I opened the box. There is a slot on the back of the heart rate sensor that you put a coin in, twist it open, and low and behold, the battery comes out. It also tells you in the instruction book how to do it, no wonder they were off hand when he rang up complaining about it.
Other than that, it does exactly what it says on the tin, it's easy to use, I worked it all out without having to look at the instructions.
Stores plenty of data to compare your times against previous efforts. I don't know if each one is coded differently, but I play badminton and go running with a friend with the same one, and have not had any issues with interference.
All in all, highly recommended!

Worth the money

Like other reviewers, I have thick wavy hair which has been colour treated. I bought these at Christmas and have found them very good. Of course, they will dry out your hair if you don't use the proper products.

However, I'd love to know what difference the satin ions are supposed to make?

Very good, worth the £40, but not a patch on GHDs.

expensive disposable product

My son wanted this type of toothbrush, until I saw that neither the batteries or brush head are replaceable. This gives the toothbrush a maximum life af about 6 months, which seems quite expensive. I hate anything disposable as it is a complete waste of resources. Does anyone know why they can't charge more and give it a longer life. I might buy it then.

useful timesaving gadget

This product helps you keep the bikini area tidy and trimmed and saves a lot of time and hassle. You can tidy up the area in just a couple of minutes! I would however have expected the lowest setting to give a brazilian effect so that was a little disappointing. As it is I think I will only use settings 1 and 2 (there are 5 in total). I don't regret buying this but will keep an eye out for a trimmer that gives a very close shave as well.

Very powerful

I generally agree with the previous reviewer. It's definitely a lot more powerful than most yet it's relatively light and surprisingly not that noisy.

I bought this last week as my old hair dryer started to play up. Wow this one is so much better than any other I've owned before! For one thing, I was looking for an ionic one as it's supposed to be kinder to the hair and also a more powerful one so it would dry my hair faster. It didn't disappoint and I was very pleased with the results. I now use this to blow my hair almost dry and then finish it with the Remington Wet2Straight wide hair straightener, another great product I purchased recently from Amazon.

One thing I disagree with the previous reviewer though - I find the 1st and 2nd heat settings just cool/warm and the third setting hot but not too hot. So if you need a very hot option, this is not going to provide it. But I find it ideal for me as I do not want to risk burning my hair/scalp!

It would be nice if the cable was longer but I guess it's a similar length to most others. I'm not sure what the cool shot function is about really (maybe I'm not using it properly?) but I think the lowest heat setting with the highest power setting gives that effect already.

Overall, a very good product and real value for money.

This hairdryer allows you to achieve that same feeling you get when you leave a salon after having had your hair blow dried professionally. I had seen the adverts and even read the reviews on Amazon but was still slightly dubious. However, I received this as a Christmas Gift from hubby and I love it. The only reason I havn't given it 5 stars is because of three things:
1. Use a set of straigtening brushes to hold your hair rather than follow the instructions which advises holding the end of your hair with your hand (too hot!).
2. This is not the hairdryer for a complete novice or if you just use the hair dryer to blast your hair.
3. I am not sure how well the straighteners would work on short hair.

These are gr8 i have really thick wavy long hair and these straighten it gr8 with less effort and really quickly they have the right name straight in a stroke i am very pleased with my purchase.

Simple and effective with a feel of quality.

Thanks to BA (and the new Terminal 5), I was forced to replace my Braun. I Chose this Philips and can't believe the difference! It's ages since I used a non-electric, but I certainly can't remember a closer shave than this. I love the fact that it can be used wet. The moisterising cream works perfectly. If I may add, I feel silly for using a sub-standard and more expensive shaver for so many years.

How to weigh small quantities

All scales are more accurate in the middle of their range.
If you want to weigh small quantities, put something on the scale that weighs about half the scale (e.g. when set to maximum 2kg, put on a litre of water = 1kg) then zero it. This will make the scales more accurate for the next thing you want to measure.

Quality Clipper But Cheap Extras

Bought from Amazon and delivery was pretty quick and well packaged.

The Clipper is great, top quality and I love using it.

The only thing I'd say could be improved is the extras included, quite an impressive list until you see them, VERY cheap quality.

If it was just the clipper then i'd give it 5/5 but the cheap extra's let it down.

Great Item Shame About DVD

I received this step today and for the most part I am very pleased. The step itself is great, very sturdy and easy to adjust. You can use it at 3 different heights 6", 8" and 10". I would suggest that if you haven't excercised in a while or are new to stepping to use it at the lowest height.

The only downside is the workout DVD that comes with it. Rubbish is an understatement. It is very poorly made and repeats several times at the beginning. The instructor is useless. She is just a head on a group of monitors. There is a god awful band that is there with the workout group and the music they play is just awful. It is the most uninspiring workout video/DVD i have ever had. I would suggest you invest in a better one and throw this one in the garbage as it is the best place for it.

Bad design on/off button

I bought these straightners for my daughter for Christmas and they are very good except for the on/off switch which is right where you hold the straightner when using it, therefore, as it is a light touch button, you keep switching it off accidentally while you are using it which is extremely frustrating. I think I will have to buy her some new ones.
