Review for Sony WM-EX422 Silver Cassette Walkman:
Unfortunately the funky looking control disk turned out to be a bit tricky to use i.e. it was too easy to press the wrong function, for instance"rewind" instead of"stop". Furthermore after a few days of use the controls started to malfunction.
I've given it 2 stars on the assumption that my unit was the only one that has malfunctioned.

Tricky controls
I chose this stereo because it looked reasonably stylish, the controls could be locked (hence no worries about tapes being repeatedly rewound while unit was in a bag), and 35hours from a single AA battery sounds pretty good for the price.Unfortunately the funky looking control disk turned out to be a bit tricky to use i.e. it was too easy to press the wrong function, for instance"rewind" instead of"stop". Review for Intempo KTL-01 DAB Digital Radio - Latte:
very disappointed
Having compared reviews and prices online i chose this radio. From a distance it looks great but up close the appearance is somewhat cheap and the buttons have a"plasticky" feel to them. Things got even worse when i turned the radio on as it didn't pick up a single DAB station. Had no problem with a friends DAB radio so i can only assume it was a problem with this model. Have since purchased a Pure Evoke 2xt which although more expensive is exceptionally good and automatically picked up many DAB stations. The 1 star is for Amazons excellent returns policy.86
Review for Sony WM-EX631 Silver Cassette walkman:
I had one for a year and it was fantastic, went days without charging (and these were long days in a Callcenter with a stack of tapes jacked into the phone blasting unsuspecting callers with some smooth analogue funk).
It autodetects and sets the Bias for all Tape types (and the lack of Dolby noise reduction dosnt go amiss it sounds hiss free anyway even with battered tapes that have been in the bottom of a rucksack for weeks).
I used it Skating, mountain biking pretty much everywhere. I broke it after a year and am now hunting for another 5 (need plenty to last me out) and the Sony store near me dosnt sell them anymore (I got the last one they had in 2005).

Awesome Walkman for the holdouts
I decided to get one after my 6th iPod (now onto my 8th) I longed for the days of bulletproof personal stereos.I had one for a year and it was fantastic, went days without charging (and these were long days in a Callcenter with a stack of tapes jacked into the phone blasting unsuspecting callers with some smooth analogue funk).

cool looking dab cd clock radio
TEAC a good name in hi fi, a good sound and a good look. My Teac glows a groovey orange when you turn it on. The bass is great, and the sound is great.Where this falls a little in its rating is its lack of function, primarily the cd player. It can play cdr, but then again most cds can. It can't play MP3. That was the reason I bought this unit, I had assumed it could read mp3, it also can't record from dab or fm. Its a real basic cd radio enhanced by dab but in this day and age the punters want all singing and all dancing gadgets.
Why TEAC don't make the cd a player/recorder with record function for the radio or other hi-fi input, a mp3 function may be even with a mini hard drive built in - I don't know. They'd be onto a winner.
I'm looking for a hifi unit that can play dvdful of mp3s and record from the radio.
But to close -- this unit is good, looks good, sounds good, a bit slow and pedantic on the button to control its functions -and apart from the fact that the tactile rubbery kind of finish attracts dirt - its a cool addition to your kitchen or bedroom.
If I could give it 3 1/2 stars I would.
