i love ghd. i used to use the old ghd straightner the mk3. I had my ghd mk3 straightner for 10 months and suddenly they stoped working. the led power light that flickers constantley just cut out and the iron just stoped working.
i am really considering to perchase the new mk4 model.

Heat Resistant Pouch

I bought this to go with my new straightners. It's ideal for when you need to leave your straightners unattended for a short while, knowing that your carpet won't get burnt. I find it helpful as you can pack away your straightners as soon as you have finished with them, instead of having to give them cooling down time. I wish I'd bought it years ago!! A great price and fast delivery, very happy.

Ive had this product for over a few months now.

I normally have straight/wavy hair and probably only straightened my hair a few times (in my whole life) with my friend's GHDs before i got this one. It works instantly, i only have to put it through my hair once and it does the job! my friend now comes round to use mines sometime!

My sister on the other hand, has really thick and curly hair, and with the 230 temp. setting it worked instantly too! her hair's really long too, and she loved the end result.

It can be used as cordless or with cord (which i prefer), but it does heat up within seconds when used in the cordless form. It has nice non-insulation material at the top, so hands never get hot etc.

There is no"smell" or"singe of colour" at all! i think if some people use it excessively, or just keep it on the hair for a long time, i guess that would cause these unfortunate events.

All in all, a fantastic product and amaaazing value for money!!!

Recommended - using this dryer made my hair sleeker and soft feeling. It blows the heat at a gentle enough speed which makes styling easy. I am very pleased I purchased it.

Extremely unruly curly hair and yet; they work!

I have always managed to straighten my hair with low to mid range straighteners. But when I say straighten it was not anything like the hairdressers could get it. I try to blow dry my hair as straight as I can first to ease the straighteners job along but this morning I opened my new Pro 230's and quickly dried my hair into what I can only describe as an uncontrollable ball of frizz as I had no time to blow dry properly. I then straightened my very thick, dry, curly hair in under 20 minutes! It normally takes an hour AT LEAST!
Wow, these are really good! I have used GHD's before but never owned them, I am sure these are better! Or at the very least, as good as. The reviews are great but I was put off a little in case all the reviewers had wavy hair rather than a mane like me! But they worked really well and the cord that moves with the straighteners is really handy, the section clips do not even penetrate my hair though!

Ghd is the best hair straightener i have ever used & i have tried & tested them all! some from the best brand names as advertised on Tv. But they are no match against Ghd this is the number one product for the best in hair straightening. It gives the best perfect straight; so hair is left silky & it takes about 10 mintutes to straighten, & i can leave my hair like this up until the next wash a few days later. So you dont have to continually straighten hair as the perfect straight only stays with Ghd & i can assure you no other hair straightener does this. Now with the MK 4 styler this is fantastic because tongs never manage to curl, flick or wave hair properly bur the ghd styler does this in seconds giving luscious locks so curls look bouncy & waves look natural & perfect.
So this is the best buy ever. Money well spent.

I bought my GHDs in January 2007 and haven't looked back! I have long hair and the wide plates make it so easy to get it completely straight, plus it only takes about 10 mins. I use them all the time as they're just so convenient. I also have some Remington straighteners with large plates, they're good too but cannot compare to the GHDs. Girls, get some, they're fab!

OMG!!!

Ok i didnt buy these from amazon, i got them from woolworths and paid £15 for them!! I needed some straighteners desperately and these were affordable!!

Ive used them so much and they still work as good as when i first got them. They make your hair dead-straight and makes it look smooth and shiney!!

I would recommend them to anyone who wants straight hair quick and at an affordable price. Mine only take about 30seconds to heat up and they work like a dream!!!!

They are slim and compact, and easy to travel with! They have a heat mat to wrap them in so there is no problem with a bag coz it works great as a bag and to protect whatever you leave them on. I, as we all have probably done, accidently left my straighteners on, on the heat proof mat when i went out, and when i came back i realised and nothing had been set alight so its proof it really works!!

So BUY BUY BUY!!!

I am really pleased with this hairdryer.
The hairdryer is lightweight which is important when you are using the curly hair diffuser.The attachment for normal blowdrying is funnelled through quite a wide narrow nozzle which with the power that this little dryer produces, dries your hair in no time. With the constant ions, it dried my thick hair quickly and it was definately less frizzy.
The cord is a good length too.
Because it is quite small and the attachments are not big either, its great for putting in your suitcase for holidays!

These really work!!!!

I have very thick, naturally curly hair that sometimes I want straight! After using any other straighteners, apart from GHD's, my hair would 'fluff up' after about an hour. I was browsing through Amazon's array of straighteners, looking at GHD's (my hairdresser uses them), when I read the reviews about the Satinliners. Believe the reviews girls!! I bought them, but still felt sceptical - but they really do work! I straightened my hair at about 5pm this evening and it's now 8pm and guess what? NO FRIZZ!!! It's still shiny and smooth. Go for them - they're great.

Very powerful

I generally agree with the previous reviewer. It's definitely a lot more powerful than most yet it's relatively light and surprisingly not that noisy.

I bought this last week as my old hair dryer started to play up. Wow this one is so much better than any other I've owned before! For one thing, I was looking for an ionic one as it's supposed to be kinder to the hair and also a more powerful one so it would dry my hair faster. It didn't disappoint and I was very pleased with the results. I now use this to blow my hair almost dry and then finish it with the Remington Wet2Straight wide hair straightener, another great product I purchased recently from Amazon.

One thing I disagree with the previous reviewer though - I find the 1st and 2nd heat settings just cool/warm and the third setting hot but not too hot. So if you need a very hot option, this is not going to provide it. But I find it ideal for me as I do not want to risk burning my hair/scalp!

It would be nice if the cable was longer but I guess it's a similar length to most others. I'm not sure what the cool shot function is about really (maybe I'm not using it properly?) but I think the lowest heat setting with the highest power setting gives that effect already.

Overall, a very good product and real value for money.

Waste of money

I bought this for my mother last Christmas (Christmas 2007). First of all she struggled to use it, saying it just doesn't seem to do anything, so then I said I'd try it out on her hair for her next time. Well, she was right! Her hair didn't even seem to grip in anything. We tried turning the tension wheel but nothing even moved to change the tension! I wouldn't even recommend it as a regular hairdryer if the straightening appliance doesn't work, because it's not the most powerful hairdryer around. Absolute rubbish. Babyliss have let themselves down. Their products are usually of high standard!

Straight and curl

I have just purchased these straighteners to replace my Mark Hill/Morphy Richards pair. I needed a new set as the coating had come off the Mark Hill straighteners and as a result they didn't glide through my hair easily, especially when using them to create curls.

I'm pleased with the results form the Remington Straight in a Stroke, they've got floating plates which makes straightening at all angles easier. There are also grooves on one side (of the outside) of the straighteners, which act as a guide when curling hair.

The information does say that using styling products may damage the teflon coating, which is a little disappointing, as I was hoping to avoid the problems I had with my last pair. Time will tell how long the non stick coating will last!

Just be careful

My wife had the 1800W version of this, which looks the same. It worked brilliantly for 8 years and was 5 stars all the way, but then one day there was a big spark internally (shorted?) and it set on fire! It had always been properly looked after. This is a different version and may be improved, so perhaps my comments don't apply (who knows?), but just be careful not to leave it plugged in and unattended - probably applies to all hair dryers!

Does everything and Works!!

I have really long thick wild hair. Alot of hair stylers do not work with my hair but I recieved this multi styler as a present and it is fantastic! I had to curl my hair three nights in a row for panto and the curler heated up quickly and was very fast and produced beautiful curls. The crimpers work well if you like that look and the straighteners are great. THe only downside is that it does not come wiht enough crocodile clips to help section your hair. But all in all a great product.
