Spot on

My mate and I are DJ's. We both play in clubs together quite a bit. Lots of noise as you can imagine! He bought some other £120 pair of cans and when i tried them on in the club, I found I had to turn the volume to full and still it wasn't loud enough to cut through all the noise. His had clarity but no punch. I went into my local DJ store and asked the guy for a relatively good set of"punchy" cans and he came up with these. I have to say - hes the man... what a difference. I can use these in a club at half volume and its louder and clearer than my mates ones ( at about a 6th of the price .....
I've had mine now for about 2 years, and they're still going great. I've just ordered another pair off here, as back -up in-case they stop making them... I might actually get a 3rd come to think of it.

Very pleasing and surprised

I listen to music mostly while I'm at the gym and have struggled to find a set of ear-bud headphones that stay in while I'm moving. I was pleasently surprised with these, they do a really good job of sticking in the ear.

More pleasing was the sound quality. For the price they are quite punchy and can throw out a good depth and bass.

I've owned a more expensive version of these Sennheiser before but the sound quality from these it certainly on par.

I'd definitely recommend these.

for the money you cant go wrong . as some one else said they are not on par with the px100,s but its early days yet as probaly get better when run in after a few hours.but still a very worthwhile buy for the money.after all you only get what you pay for!

You may not get what you think

I ordered one of these cables which was described as being made by Apple, (indeed the photo is of a genuine Apple, iPod cable). When it came it was not a genuine Apple cable. I kept it because it works just as well as an Apple cable, but should have been described as such. I note however that even though I came back to this page by clicking on the order I made from my profile that it is now a different seller (was Zoodex when I ordered).

It is also worth noting to those new to iPods, that it is not worth buying if you want this cable to use with a second computer (say an office one) as unlike any other MP3 player the iPod will only work with one computer at a time. When I got this cable and connect my iPod Nano to my office PC, it told me it could not sync with this computer, unless I opted to erase its contents and start again! So really only worth buying if you have lost or broken the cable that came with your iPod.

Bargain

I love these headphones. They're light and comfortable enough to wear all day . They sound really good too, especially for the price. And they match my iPod in white! :-D

sennheiser eh150 headphones

the delivery was quick, unpacking them was alotta fun, really funky cool design and the sound was really rich, and at this price, pretty damn good deal! but yes everyone is right, they do look a little flimsy but just be careful and the cable is quite long which is ok as long as youre moving around alot otherwise will get tangled easily!

Good sound, but there are comfort issues

I mainly bought these for use with my Sony Ericsson W810i Walkman Phone. The sound quality is good, and the volume control is essential for my purpose (Google"W810i hiss" to find out why). The main drawbacks for me are:

(a) The discomfort. It does get better after a while, but is never really comfortable.

(b) The little rubber bits have a tendency to fall out. Fortunately, the MX55VC comes with a few a spares.

Great sound

These produce a really good sound for the price. The only thing to bear in mind is that they fall out of your ear very easily, so pretty useless for jogging. However, the Shure PA752M Foam Sleeves fit on them perfectly: with these they stay in your ears and sound even better. So I'd recommend buying some of those too.

Bought and loved pair of £40 fonotopias abount 3 years ago but recently lost them - gutted

No, old ones fitted in ear perfectly, wore for hours , why Sony think that adding a frisbee onto them and expect them not to rub your outer ear raw after 10 mins is beyond me

Do not buy, bass is poor - what bass, fit is poor and uncomfortable. Go for cheaper versions which do not have a dinner plate attached to the section that fits in the ear

Why can't designers learn from history of good design-beware clever photo angle is misleading

Exceptional

Have been using these headphones for more than 6 months now and they've never missed a beat (pardon the pun). The sound quality truly is exceptional for their size and the in-ear fitting really does block out almost all background noise.

Highly recommended for listening on planes and the Tube, on the latter you barely hear any rumbling from the train at all, perfect!

My only complaint (and it's a very minor one) is the design of the cable (i.e. the long bit between the earplugs and the jack). Sennheiser seem to have opted for a 'tangle-free' type of cable and whilst it does tangle less than an ordinary cable it does have an odd habit of defying gravity! By this I mean the cable has a habit of poking out in all funny directions, well beyond my control. Even after 6 months I've never gotten the hang of it!

All in all however, great value!

nothing is ever perfect

i am very pleased with this item,yes it doesnt fit perfect but i didnt find it an issue or uncomfy at all and i wear it 4 anywhere up to 6 hours a day constant... there are obviously higher quality ones out there but for the same money i seriously doubt you could get better and even if i had paid the full £10.00 i would still be happy. both the ear piece and the mic both give superb sound clarity and i have actually recommended it to my friends, a couple of which have already ordered 1

Good value - but it depends what you're looking for

I wanted something that would be effective in a noisy office environment and bought these phones after reading the comments on Amazon. Having used them for several months, I'm very satisfied with my purchase.

They're excellent at cutting out the kind of background noise created by air conditioning systems, PCs and the buzz of conversation; not so effective against someone standing next to you and shouting into a mobile, but nothing is (nothing legal, at any rate). The effect is probably best described as bringing the sounds that you're listening to into focus so that you can hear clearly without having to turn the volume up.

I use the phones sitting at a desk, rather than on the move.They're very light and I find that I can wear them comfortably for hours on end and then pack them away in the robust and well designed storage case at the end of the day. The sound quality is excellent for background listening, but my audio standards aren't particularly high: if quality is important to you, you may wish to look at higher spec products.

For the price the best headphones I've used

The Koss"spark plug" earphones may look incredibly ugly (and why make them white!!)but the sound quality is exceptional. The only problem I have with them is the lead is made of a rubberised texture material which tends to catch on clothing which sometimes pulls the plugs out. Apart from that they are the best sounding phones I've used.

Cracking bit of kit !!!

This earphone splitter is perfect for sharing music, I bought it just in time to take on holiday for me and my better half! The built in volume controls provide independence with the music being supplied from one mp3 player. I found the length to be just about right and flexible rather than fixed like some of the other options. Great value for money.

Rubbish

Having bought these I am sorely disappointed. I find them no better than the in ear pair I had that cost about £18

I wish I hadn't spent the £46. The improvement in sound quality is negligible and far outweighed by the fact that when I manage (after much messing about) to isolate outside noise I am left with every movement I make, when walking being transmitted through the wires to my ears. Thus meaning there is a constant background thump that is very very irritating.

I understand that this isn't peculiar to this model but all earphones of this type. How do they get away with it??

Its very fiddly to try and wear them as they suggest, over the ear, as its difficult to keep the phones in.

Why is there an extension lead? It should be just one lead because the short piece of wire is far too short to be of any use unless you are lying down resting your ipod on your chest, which funnily enough isn't my normal way of getting to and from work. This also adds to the weight which drags them out of your ears

I've only had these 2 days and have tried all the different fitments. If you don't use the sleeves that isolate noise (the point of these) then the sound is far too tinny

As its impossible to get a refund from Amazon because I opened the box (how silly of me)these will be going straight on ebay and back to my cheaper (better ones)

Good for background bad for brats!

I've no base for comparison but this is a very good product. I do sony products because of their build, innovative ideas, performance and quality, this product is no exception. It was always going to be sony but I duly read up on them anyway and compared them to rivals brands just in case.

First time I tried them I couldn't believe it, all that background low frequency racket you get in a public place, a telly on through the house etc it practically eliminated, the exception being higher pitch and people speaking to you - i.e. this product is not a solution to the other half nagging at you!

I'm using them through my K810 sony ericsson, sound is far from shabby, I'd say better than the conventional rubber earphones found on sony walkman phones. Best thing is that you won't need to destroy the old ears by cranking up the volume to overcome surrounding noise.

My one gripe - and it's one which even sony won't be able to engineer a solution to - is that when on a plane and there's a brat making a squealing noise (which in my opinion is the worst kind) they won't be able to counteract it, you've been warned. In a nutshell top technology, impressive, no regrets.

great sound

Bought for partner to replace ipod earphones - much better sound quality at a great price from a marketplace seller. Comfortable and the noise cancelling works.

This does exactly what the advert says it does!!

I want to use quality earplugs with my phone but needed to reduce the size of the jack plug. This does just that and doesn't compromise the sound quality.......and it's excellent value too.

Top quality Sennheiser Wireless Closed Headphones

I ordered the Sennheiser RS140 as I wanted top of the range wireless CLOSED headphones (ie so people around me at home can't hear what I'm listening to), and this is Sennheiser's only model. I considered the Sony headphones but went for the Sennheisers due to their heritage in headphones (think quality headphones, think Sennheiser).

When they arrive, the instructions (which are really clear and easy to follow) recommend charging the headphones on the supplied cradle base for 16hours. When you have finished with them, place them on the cradle and they will start charging again - note you can't overcharge them. They take 2 AAA batteries which are supplied. Its a nice feature for the charging cradle and the headphones to be magnetic - there is a satisfying snap in place when the are in place :)

On the headphones themselves is a volume dial, a L-R fader and the tune button. No problems tuning into the signal first time. Just press the button and off you go!

There is a small bit of background hiss especially when there is no sound from the source - ie when switching channels on the TV for example - but nothing too annoying so don't let this put you off.

The built quality is good and the headphones themselves are comfortable, with an adjustable band for those with big or small heads.

Overall, a highly recommended product. Go get yours today!

Superb headphones

The sound quality of these match my previous Sennheiser in-ear buds, with superb bass and crystal clear treble and are also very comfortable in the ears.

The microphone/button is smaller than it looks in the photo, and works exactly like the standard iPhone white headphones (answer calls, pause music, skip tracks etc)

If you wear them properly (with the longer side around the back of your neck, they don't pull out of your ears at all. I suspect the previous poster was not using them as the manufacturer intended!

All in all, these are very good headphones. Everything you would expect with the additional iPhone functionality you crave.

I got mine delivered in super quick time too, and can recommend the seller highly.

Works great with my iPhone 3g, also would fit an iPhone 2g as the jack plug is slim.
