Excellent workhorse
I've used many printers over the years and this one is exceptional. If it has a fault it is that the standard paper tray knocks a bit if fully loaded, due to the weight of the paper being lifted. The solution is not to fill the paper tray to the max level. A great plus is the envelope printing capability of this machine, our first job was to print directly to envelop for a mail shot of 5000. Even allowing time between batches for the printer to cool it was still exceptionally quick and gave us full control over production in-house. Another plus is the ability to print using non-standard paper sizes, you do though have to play a bit with margins etc to get the positioning right but you only have to do it once and save your template. The control panel is an asset, among other clever things it lets you check toner levels without opening the printer. All in all an excellent investment...92

Avoid this printer
Avoid this printer. It jams, makes a loud noise sometimes when printing, print qaulity isn't so good. It seems to use a lot of colour ink even though mainly printing in B&W. Also, this printer will eventually tell you to replace the imaging unit which costs more than the printer itself!! Not really fit for its purpose. Wouldn't buy a Samsung again.100

i-SENSYS MF4690PL
This device was delivered with a broken duplexer. 2 print engineers and 4 weeks later it was returned. Canon appear to ship items untested. All it takes to test it is to press the button on the panel which prompts it to print a test page, but obviously even that was not tested before it was shipped. I now have the spare cartridge I ordered at the same time, but nothing to put it in, so I will have to try again, I suppose. Quality control is obviously not Canon's strong point. I hope you have more luck.
