Good, but room for improvement
The picture and sound quality (with close-fitting earphones) are both very good. It plays region 1 and region 2 DVDs with no problem. But there are shortcomings. There appears to be no way to adjust the aspect ratio and classic 5:4 pictures are distorted (too wide). Technically it is sound but the ergonomics need more attention. The screen, being hinged, is awkward to open. (finger-slots at the sides would improve this). The labelling of the controls is meaningless and the handbook is next to useless so that the owner must proceed by trial-and-error. Not particularly good value at the moment but later marks will probably improve.49

We bought these to take on holiday for the kids to use in the car. We did consider the twin players where you have to watch the same thing but these dvd players are much better as you can use them together or separate. There is a lead which you can plug in the cigarette lighter and into each dvd player and a connect wire if you want them to be joined up. There is also a mains plug and rechargable battery pack if you want to watch them out of the car. There are car mounts and carry bags for both dvds. The picture and sound quality is good too and they seem easy to use. They even play multi region dvd's! Vey impressed with what you get for your money.50

Great buy , arrived right on time , packaged very well and it was all there.Very easy machine to use, great for DVD's and CDs, took it on a Camper van holiday with me up to Scotland, nice and compact and used it on mains power and battery power with no issues, I haven't used the TV mode yet so I can not comment on that , however I will be taking it with me abroad on my next holiday, it will be handy for music DVD's in the evening time whilst getting ready to go out, so no more trying to find something to watch or listen too in some foreign country from now on.Cannot fault the service or the goods I bought....I got exacly what it said on the tin !!!!!! what more do we want ??????

fantastic portable dvd player
This is a fantastic 10" portable dvd player - plays all formats and packed with features - the picture and sound quality is excellent. DivX quality is very good. With two kids the twin headphone socket is useful. Tilt and swivel screen is great when used with the travel case-cum-back seat dvd holder - which is included.This Shinco portable is excellent value for money.

We took it back to a Sony recommended service agent and they mentioned someone else had brought in the same model with the same condition. They fitted a new screen and recommended us to place a layer of soft material in-between the screen and the unit, which for saying we brought this product for nearly £200.00 is appalling.
So save yourself a lot of money and head my warning, if it doesn't happen now to your screen it will.
Don't buy, unless you have money to burn!

We brought this product when it first came out and we did not realise that there is a design fault on it.When you use this product and you keep lifting up the screen and putting it down, the screen will start to rub on the 'Push here to close button which is protruding over the unit ever so slightly. We took it back to a Sony recommended service agent and they mentioned someone else had brought in the same model with the same condition. They fitted a new screen and recommended us to place a layer of soft material in-between the screen and the unit, which for saying we brought this product for nearly £200.00 is appalling.
So save yourself a lot of money and head my warning, if it doesn't happen now to your screen it will.

wrong the battery died after about an hour so i figured put it on charge and leave it overnight like a cell phone maybe but got up next morning to find not only had the battery not charged but the charger had popped and no longer charged so wanting to check if it was the charger or the battery i plugged in the car charger that popped too!! so its gone back for a refund. obviously there are some quality issues you should take into consideration.but when it played the player was good pic quality was reasonable and sound was ok

This was a pressie for the kids and we are extremely happy with it. The picture quality is better than expected, sound very clear too. A great feature is it plays DIVX files.Only minor problems are no battery options so it must always be plugged in. The mains adapter only has one socket so you can only power one screen. We purchased this just last week and are very pleased with sound, and quality of picture, also the leads just reach far enough for 7 seater cars so that you can have one screen between front seats for middle row viewing and one attached back or between middle row of seats for back row viewing.Without head phones on, us parents were able to enjoy conversation to each other whilst film in progress. Also we were pleased to see that there is an extra head phone socket on main player so 3 sets of head phones can be used, as we have 3 kids!bonus is that it can plug into your TV and be used as a portable DVD player, ideal for self catering hols.
