Almost the perfect attachment.

First of all I bought this and amazon had it deliverd across the Irish sea in a few days so congrats to them. Excellent service as normal. The device itself has certainly made the job of cleaning the patio easier. It definitely reduces those awful splashes all over the walls and windows and therefore means that it is much quicker and tidier than the lance. If you are very fussy it could be said that it doesnt get the job done just as well as the lance. I"wrote" my childrens names onto part of the dirty patio and then went over it with the T300. You could still see the names after I had washed the area with the T300. Having said this however, I still think that it was a good buy as I am now more likely to clean the patio as the device is very user friendly.

Better than the Flymo !!

I bought this after my Flymo packed up and glad I have made the switch to Rotak.

The advantages over the Flymo are:
1. Much better at collecting the grass (No more clumps left on the lawn)
2. Cuts right up to the edge (My strimmer is almost redundant now)
3. Cutting time is quicker
4. Does not blow the cut grass all over the patio which then needs sweeping up !.
5. Very easy to change the cutting depth. You have to get a 'spanner' out to change it on the Flymo. However, I can't see myself using anything but the lowest setting because the other settings seems too high ?.

Disadvantage over the Flymo are :
1. More expensive
2. Not as compact. The handle does not fold flat hence can not hang on the wall.
3. Not as maneuverable if you have a postage stamp size garden. I have a medium size so great for me

Great performance, top value, fun!

I actually got an upgrade from Argos in the end to the 38cm version which is, you guessed it, 38cm wide not 30 but otherwise identical mechanically. For the money, it is superb. Take away the price it is still an excellent product. My lawn had got in a state because my flymo was to pathetic to cut it (it's a little bit bumpy) so after a strim I set about it with the Panther. Yes it did struggle on the longer blades of grass and slipped quite a bit but with perseverance it made a good job of it. One tip, don't mess about with the blade setting unless you are sure this is the problem - it should make a loud noise as the blades rotate and meet and cut a newspaper cleanly if put between the blades. Two days later having let the grass recover I returned and lowered the blade. The result is the best looking lawn I have had. Yes, the bucket might fall off a bit and you have to scoop the cuttings into it sometimes (it cuts grass very well and lots of it!) but that doesn't matter. It's easier than the flymo, you can pull it out of the shed and go and it makes a satisfying engine like noise as you power it along. Great Fun too!

No nonsense, does what it says on the tin

I've had this mower for a year now and can say this is a no nonsense mower that does the job and does it well. Excellent build quality, simple but efficient design and very lightweight. Ideal for small to medium sized lawns.

Pros:
- Very simple to put together
Took 5 minutes or less to assemble. Can't remember thinking twice about putting it together now when we got it.

- Very lightweight
Easy to carry around to and from the garage to the lawns. Carries easily with just one hand.

- Easily adjustable height
Easy to adjust height of blade, has a notch system to adjust to 3 different height settings. Only really use one to be fair :)

- Simple but efficient design
Probably the most important feature about this mower is the lack of features! There's not a lot to go wrong with this mower because the design is so simple which is a good thing if you're not using the mower every single day and don't need x number of bells and whistles. At the same time the design is excellent, it just does the job and does it very well.

- Easily replaceable blade
There's just one rotary blade underneath that can be replaced easily if it gets blunted or whatever.

- Easy to remove grass collection box
The box fits onto the mower by lifting a spring-loaded flap at the back and hooking the box onto the mower and the flap acts to hold the box down on the hooks to stop it bouncing off. Very sturdy.


Cons:
- Not suitable for large lawns
The footprint on this mower is quite small - maybe 2ft or less(?). As a result I wouldn't want to use this mower on a lawn over 50sq metres.

- Lack of features
As I said above the lack of features on this mower makes it great in my opinion, however for some this could be a down side. If you do want xyz features then this isn't the mower for you, it's a very simple but effective design but won't make the coffee for you :)

- Slightly 'cheap' look to it
Thought twice about mentioning this - by 'cheap' I mean the main body is made of plastic which kind of gives it a cheap look to it. However having said this the build quality itself isn't 'cheap', design seems very well thought out as mentioned above. If you want to keep your mower on display to show your mowing prowess or have the need to 'keep up with the jones', maybe go for something else :)

In summary - if you don't want a lot of features and just want a mower that does the job well, this is for you.

very good choice

I bought this to replace a burnt out flymo and this is easily the best mower I have ever used. The construction is solid and the grass collection the most efficient I have ever seen.

We all hate mowing the lawn and not wanting a petrol mower the only alternative is electric with the hassle of cables and worrying about cutting the lawn when it's damp - which lets face it happens most of the time in a UK summer.

I've been keeping an eye on cordless mowers over the past few years and up until now they've always seemed to be a bit of a gimmick that take heavy, car-battery sized batteries that don't last all that long. Now with Li-Ion battery technology all that has changed. Thankfully.

My lawn is rough! A mixture of grass and is far from level. Having now used this mower for a couple of cuts - both with medium to long grass I can say it is a absolute joy to use. It's light, easy to handle and powerful enough to get through longish damp grass, and no cables!!! It cuts better than my previous 2 Flymo electric mowers and is quicker to use as it's so light.

My only ctricism is that it's difficult to tell how full the grass box is, and grass tends to go everywhere if you are emptying it when too full. But it's really a minor thing as it's no hassle to just empty it more often.

Some reviews I have read of the 43cm model criticise the grass box that is flimsy as it comes in 3 parts. This model has a grass box that comes in 2 parts - the box itself and a lid - which is much better and I had no problems assembling it and it doesn't feel too flimsy to me.

I agree that some parts do feel a little bit flimsy although this is the same with almost any product you buy these days. However overall it is of typical Bosch construction and feels like it is built to last reasonably well.

The battery does everything it says it does and so far I can only describe it as superb! Take Bosch's advice though - and consider the model you need for the size of lawn(s) you need to cut.

Sure, it's expensive. However, having bought 2 cheaper electic mowers in the past 4 years, one of which broke down after 18 months and both of which I found a pain to use I think the extra expense is worth it to make mowing my lawn less of a chore.

Gets the job done

My first trimmer, and boy does it cut through the overgrowth. I found the heavy duty spool extremely effective and it went through my 3 foot high weeds like a hot knife through butter! The 'pro-tap' I still haven't got to grips with and always end up turning the trimmer upside down and manually pulling out more line. The normal spool line seems to wear out a bit quick, but that's probably just normal!
All in all, efficient, effective, and well worth the money! Gets the job done!

simply superb

Cuts beautifully, simple, manoeuvrable can carry this through one hand.
Had a £100+ worth flymo before this, which was very awkward to carry through the house and was awkward when the grass box began to fill up. I'm finding this cuts better and remains effortless when the grass box is completely full.
This is worth at least twice as much as the ticket price.

Very Impressive!

My cottage garden is totally surrounded with hedging, mostly beech. Never having used a hedge trimmer before, I was a little apprehensive as to how I would manage and what sort of cut it would give. There was, however, no need to worry. This little machine coped magnificently and produced a most impressive result. Much, much faster than by hand shears and the result just as neat. Should have got it earlier!

Considered getting the larger trimmer, but glad I finally decided on this one. Ideal for my garden hedge. It is a little heavier than I had imagined, but is still easily managed. Mind and buy a pair of goggles with it.

Poor in wet

Tried to use this before Xmas - keep the garden nice as frost hadn't set it. We have a high water table, it didn't work well - ended up leaving the job

Just doesn't work.

I bought this item despite some negative reviews that now seem to have disappeared. With tools I normally subscribe to the rule"you get what you pay for". However with a troublesome car battery I decided this would save me time removing the battery for re-charge at an attractive price.

It arrived promptly and appeared to be fully charged (this worried me). However having read previous reviews I put it on for a full 15 hour charge before attempting to use it.

I connected the jump start to the car battery as directed and tried to start the car. As feared the car wouldn't start there appeared to be very little additional power supplied by the jump-start.

I accept I might have received a DUD but the previous negative reviews (now no longer displayed) would suggest that it's pot luck if this unit works.

As for my unit ..... I'm thinking car boot.

Fantastic

I don't normally write reviews, but this lawnmower is so good it deserves it. I had been using a black and decker 4x4 for the last seven years before it finally gave up the ghost. The difference is like night and day. I bought the rotak after reading these reviews and I am so glad I did. It is so quick and collects ALL the grass cuttings. It also cuts to the shortest length first time with no stalling of the blade or clogging up of the collectiion chute (unlike the 4x4). All in all a first class product that I would highly recommend.

Black & Decker products designed to fall apart

I have been buying Black & Decker products for too long. Their garden products are designed to last 2 to 3 years only. This was told to me by the manager of a large DIY chain when I complained about the frequent failure rate of the B & D products.

Don't waste your money on this rubbish - do some research and buy something sturdier which is made to last.

Dremel 300

Anyone reading the other review might get the impression that the Dremel 300 is supplied with a chuck and not collets. This is not the case. I can only assume having just bought one that the chuck has to be purchased separately.
