Review for Epson Stylus R800 Inkjet Colour Photo Printer:
Oh yes, the quality's great - until you don't do any printing for a week or come to change cartridges that is. The ink-wastage is unbelievable. I can't even begin to describe the amount of time and money wasted vainly trying to unblock the printheads. Nothing works - not even Isopropanol. My guess would be that a lot of the positive reviews are written fairly shortly after purchase or by very heavy users who print regularly. For normal use, this thing has been an unmitigated disaster.
Frankly, my personal opinion is that this printer is so fundamentally flawed that I don't believe Epson should even be selling it - it's about time they realised that there are a lot of people who will never go near one of their products again. If you are still considering purchasing one of these money-pits, check the internet - my experiences are commonplace.
Bottom-line an expensive waste of money that's gone in the bin after 1-year.
FYI, this is an independent review and I've no connection to any printer manufacturer, distributor etc.
Rant over.

connecting devices
As I agree with everyone else on the printing quality, there's not alot to say. But...using the printer didn't stop there for me! I wanted to link it to my Netgear WGPS606 print server. No joy...this is because Netgear don't support the printer. So...I then discovered the printer would support bluetooth. Wow, the adaptor from Canon (BU-20) was £50. FIFTY QUID! So what the hell, I stuck in an old Bluetooth adaptor from Sitecom (£19.99) into the Canon ES1. Guess what...it worked without a hitch. My Sony Ericsson phone paired up and printed a perfect picture. Then I stuck a Belkin Bluetooth adapter into a WinXP laptop and then printed without a hitch (I had to remember to right click the picture and send it via Bluetooth to my paired device, e.g. the printer, remember, you're not printing, you're"sending" the image to the printer). Also, because it was bluetooth, even though my Linux (Kubuntu, the KDE version of Ubuntu) distro didn't support the Canon ES1 through CUPS, I stuck in the Belkin adapter (F8T013) and had a go. Yup, it just worked, no problems... I love Bluetooth, it just works.24

High Quality photo Printer
I bought this printer for my sister in law's 80th birthday . She does not like using her computer software for printing her digital photos . It is also not very convenient to take the card to the shops for printing . She is absolutely delighted with this printer . It was very easy to set up , works perfectly and produces very high quality prints in about 90 seconds . If you have a digital camera, this is all you will ever need to produce excellent prints of your favorite shots . I would highly recommend this printer which is well worth the money ! .25

Having said that, don't spend more than £50 on one of these printers because the cost of prints is high compared to commercial photo places like Truprint. I bought mine for £50 on Amazon (printer dock series 3)

Review for Kodak, Printer Dock Plus Series 3, Photo printer:
The other customer review is wrong
Each cartridge comes with 40 sheets of paper, and has 40 sets of dye on the ribbon. The ribbon is in fact NUMBERED so you can see for yourself (although don't check this until you have finished the ribbon, as you may cause problems.) I don't see how the reviewer 'ran out of ink', as everytime you print a photo it has a new set of dye to print with, it even tells you in the software/printer properties how many prints you have left on the cartridge! This suggests that either his printer is broken or he hasn't installed the driver properly, or he doesn't actually own the printer. I have purchased THREE of these printers over the past year, 2 were for presents to family members, and none have had any problems apart from a couple of paper jams, and this NEVERS happens if you remember to shuffle/flick through the sheets before printing - just like it says in the manual. I havent had a jam in over 200 prints.Having said that, don't spend more than £50 on one of these printers because the cost of prints is high compared to commercial photo places like Truprint. I bought mine for £50 on Amazon (printer dock series 3)

Review for Epson Stylus Photo R2880 A3 Photo Printer with individual inks:
The printer is quite large but easy to assemble, and the software installation proceeded with no problems. Reviews say that the new printer interface is an improvement on the old one. I dissagree with this. It's still good, but not an improvement.
So what were the first prints like ? A bit dissapointing - too washed out with weak colours. So I reduced the brightness and increased the contrast in the printer preferences and the results were then very good indeed. In fact the colours matched exactly those on the monitor screen, something I have never been able to achieve before.
Although the R2880 has higher resolution than the 1270, this did not show in the prints. What did show was the printing speed - just over 2 minutes to do an A4.
The pigment inks do not soak into the paper like dye inks do, but sit on the surface, so the resulting prints are not as glossy but still very good. An they should last a lifetime.
Would I reccommend this printer. You bet. The results really are very good indeed and the printer feels well made. I have printed many thousands of images over the years on several different printers, and the R2880 gives better results by far. Enough said.

Accurate prints at last !
I purchased Epson's R2880 to replace my trusty Epson 1270 photo printer which, after 9 years producing excellent prints finally gave up the ghost. I was keen to see what improvements had been made in 9 years of development. The printer is quite large but easy to assemble, and the software installation proceeded with no problems. Reviews say that the new printer interface is an improvement on the old one. I dissagree with this. It's still good, but not an improvement.

Review for Canon SELPHY CP730 Compact & Portable Photo Printer:
If you consider that, through Amazon, you pay less than 16 gbp for a pack that will do 108 prints, once you've done a few prints, the price per print becomes very competitive.

awesome
the quality of the prints from this printer is absolutely brilliant, crystal clear printing on 4x6 prints. the only problem that I've had is if printing from my computer, rather than a memory card, is there have been white strips on the sides of the print, so not really borderless, but that may correctable by changing the print settings. If you consider that, through Amazon, you pay less than 16 gbp for a pack that will do 108 prints, once you've done a few prints, the price per print becomes very competitive.

A little beauty!
This machine replaced an ageing HP Photosmart 1215 and what a difference! The setup was very easy. I had a Vista disk in with the machine but I still had to go online to download the Vista update. However, no problems here and machine was soon up and running. The only glitch I have is at start up when a dialog box informs me that the HP CUE Status isn't running and is unable to load. Whatever it is, this doesn't seem to affect the overall running of the printer. I like the fact that HP printers store the paper horizontally so you don't get that annoying curling of the paper as you do with certain other makes! No problems using touch screen for controlling the machine. Printer is highly recommended for the price.31

Photo Quality
I don't know how well this works with other cameras, but it's absolutely fine with Canons. I bought this for my good lady wife who is about as IT averse as it's possible to be and still use email, and she loves it. You plug the camera into the Selphy, choose the pics you want to print, and print them. They look exactly the same as the ones from Jessops or Tesco, and they cost about the same as well, i.e. about 20p per 6x4 print, but of course you only print the ones you really like. Because it's dye-sublimation with a 50-pic casette already loaded, you can leave it as long as you like between prints and it still works, unlike ink-jets which have to be used regularly or the jets block up. Personally, I don't print photos at all nowadays, but if you do, you can't do better than this.33

Got this to replace my Epson 1200 series scanner. The DPI on this is much higher at 4800 but - it only takes 35mm slides or negs, the automatic film loader is a waste of space and overall operation is very slow.37
Review for Lexmark Wireless Inkjet Printer, 4 By 4 Photo Printing, 24PPM Mono, 18PPM Colour:
The last time I bought a printer was about 5 years ago and I have found this one a vast improvement. Setting up was tricky until I realised you needed to use the installation disc (something us mac users aren't used to!) but after that it was really easy. I really like the wifi light on the front of the printer that tells you whether it can see the network ok and the fact that it goes into standby on its own.
As for printing time. When I hit print on my laptop upstairs, a two page document is done by the time I have walked downstairs. For this price it's a no brainer!

Astonishing value!
I bought this printer because it was the cheapest I could find, I saw that it advertised itself as"wireless", but thought all that meant was that you could plug it in to your router, it was only when I got it home and saw the small aerial that I realised quite how clever it is!The last time I bought a printer was about 5 years ago and I have found this one a vast improvement. This printer provides really excellent prints on HP Advanced paper. What makes it worth 5 stars is the quality and availability of paper and paper/ink kits at reasonable prices - so you can use this printer without being too concerned about the cost. But don't pay more than you need for the hardware or consumables - check all the options before purchase!39

What a poor printer
I recently purchased this printer, unfortunately this was a big mistake as nowhere do Epson or Amazon tell you that the printer cannot hold all 9 ink cartridges it can only hold 8 out of the 9 supplied. This is a real pain as you have to choose Matt Black or Gloss Black and so if you are printing a Photo imeadiately after a good black and white piece of art you have to swap the cartridges. What a PAIN!! Sorry Epson this printer has gone back to Amazon and been replaced by the Canon Pixma 9500 which is superb and holds all 10 (YES 10) of its ink cartridges at the same time.
