Complete waste of money

Do NOT waste your money on this printer. I bought 2 of them for printing address labels in work and both of them packed in within 6 weeks, both with the same problem (not recognising the ink cartridges). Hours of uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers on different computers brought no success. The only saving grace was that they were cheap! They'll be going back to Amazon soon for credit. Don't waste your time or your money...you get what you pay for!

Great Product

I bought this printer 6 weeks ago to print A3 photo's, excellent results
up until now, no problems whatso-ever with installation.
Would recommend without hesitation.

Absolutely marvellous printer!!

I bought this printer via Amazon and it is brilliant. I started using Canon Pro paper but honestly the output is totally fantastic on Jessops paper too!
Just one small point.... Amazon's ad for this printer says that it is"Dispatched from and sold by pixmania_uk". This is not true. If you buy it from Pixmania be aware that the product will be dispatched to you from France.

Superb .... but you pay for it.

I have owned this printer for about 2 years now. It produces truly stunning photographic quality pictures, but is VERY expensive as an all round colour printer if you (or in my case the children) use it for simple colour printing (£80 for a set of Epson ink). I experimented with several makes of cheap (£25/set) *compatible* cartridges, and it appeared that if you print photos every few weeks then all is fine, BUT if you don't use ALL the different inks for a month or more they clog up and cause real problems (cleaning the heads uses LOADS of ink and sometimes I was forced to clean the heads 3 times before it printed peoperly). My solution has been to enforce my kids to use a cheap b/w laser as their *standard* printer with the Epson used as a 'special treat' and to buy the Epson original cartridges which seem to be fine if you don't print photographs for a month or more. In summary ... superb photographic quality and not expensive if you print hundreds of photos uisng compatible ink cartridges, but not a cheap all round colour printer if used just for the occassional photograph.

Ink Cartridge Problems

I have had my Canon iP4300 for over a year now and it suddenly started giving me ink tank errors. The lights weren't on on the Cyan and Black cartridges - when I reinstalled them the lights came on but went off once cover closed. I rang Canon on 08705 143 723 and told them about the problem. They told me that this was a recognised problem, gave me a ref. number and told me to return the cartridges to the shop where I bought them and that they would be replaced. I did this and now the printer is working fine again.

Superb portable printer

I am extremely happy with my purchase. This printer produces very good quality photos 6x4 and 7x5 and the effects that can be added help to create a lovely present to give to friends and family. Can definately recommend it for anyone who wants to print off odd photos to give to visitors or at parties etc., I've recently purchased the made to fit printer bag from the HP site for around £20, as I've tried lots of places but cant find one to fit exactly right.

Could do a lot better

Although the print quality is OK as the other reviewer said, it can produce horizontal lines if the heads are not used regularly.
It is slow and noisy, and I agree it is expensive on ink. At least the cartridges don't cost £9.99 each!
It seems incapable of printing anything larger than A4; it struggles dreadfully with even"DL" envelopes.

I didn't buy it myself; having see it in use I most certainly wouldn't buy one myself.

There are other far better printers available for a similar price.

Avoid this horrible peripheral at all costs

I've found owning this printer to be a consistently awful experience. The build quality is pretty terrible, and the lack of a basic LCD screen has made diagnosing the frequent error messages incredibly frustrating. What I believe to be inexcusable though, is this nasty little machine unrelentingly trying to force it's proprietary software onto my unwilling PC. Like a drunk unlicensed taxi driver, it just will not take no for an answer. So, now I save my finished images in Photoshop, open them up in Kodak"EasyShare", decline starting a Gallery Account, avoid Ordering Prints Online, and die a little inside every time I attempt to print something. If the printer deigns to present me with something other than an indecipherable light show, the colours won't have aligned on the image. I'll be left holding something I initially found delightfully Pop Art, but now just makes me want to cut myself.

Excellent easy to use machine

This is a great portable printer; quality of picture is superb and printing time very good indeed. The Colour screen means that it is very easy to manipulate pictures and the printer can even sharpen a picture before it prints! If I have a quibble, it is that I think the bluetooth capability should have been on-board....as it is, you have to buy an expensive adaptor to enable this function. That said, I love my printer.

Fantastic camera and printer

I had been looking around for a digital camera for a couple of years before i finally settled on the M415 Digital camera and printer package. I wanted certain requirements out of my camera, including great pictures, video (with audio) a decent optical and digital zoom, and more importantly being easy to use at an affordable price.

I got all that i required with this camera and much, much more with the added bonus of the printer, which even a two year old could operate as it’s so easy. (You literally just dock the camera into the printer and press print from either the unit or with your remote from your armchair!) The camera takes, and the printer prints, the most vibrantly coloured photo’s i have ever seen (both indoors and out) Every single one of my friends whom i have shown these photo’s to has been impressed not only at the clarity (that’s only on the default 3MP setting) of the pictures but also with the vibrant colours, they really stand out.

I would definitely, definitely recommend it.

If there was a downside to this camera, I would say that the viewing screen could do with being a bit bigger (I have seen better clearer ones on other camera’s) and also it cost me a fortune in printing my photos. Not that it is anymore expensive than any other printer’s pictures to print, it’s just that as they are so fantastic I keep printing copies for everyone! Why say it when you can show it!

Speak as I find....

Bought the R240 to replace a tired 810, and have had no problems. Set up was easy and the print quality is as good as my previous model. The better the paper, the better the print, but that's expected. Bought it when it was on offer, so got a bargain.

Don't buy a Refurbished Unit!!

I bought one of these refurbished from ebay...big mistake!!
The printer arrived without any ink cartridge and being a refurb unit it had previously been used and the ink jet heads were blocked.(The manual says not to remove the ink cartridge until a replacement is ready!!)
Cleaning the heads uses ink!!
It took a whole cartridge to clean the heads before it could be used luckily I used a compatible ink cartridge £4.95 instead of the original £20+.
The printer cost me £20 if I had used genuine ink cartridges that would have been 20+, then I would have to buy another cartridge £20+ because I used the ink in the other cartridge cleaning the heads!!
So effectivley my £20 bargain would have cost £60+.

I know what these printers can do and when they are working they are great little things my parents own one (£40 NEW)which made me buy this BARGAIN!!

Anyway all I am saying is spend the extra and buy it new they are worth it and the results from such a small printer are great.

Epson Stylus RX520 Good printer shame about the scanner

I have had a Epson Stylus RX520 for about 15 months, I bought it for the print quality, which is excellent and I don't have a problem with. The built in scanner was a bonus so I got rid of my old HP scanner (mistake). I have probably done no more than 20 scans in the time I have owned it. Now the scanner leaves a band down the left handside of every image. Epson's helpdesk response to this issue was for me to to buy a new unit as its not worth fixing. If you need a scanner look elsewhere, or don't get rid of your old scanner.

at last one lives up to its title

Having recently had to return another well known branded printer which ate more paper than in actually printed I turned to HP for no other reason than my computer is an HP and my wife wanted the facility to simply plug in the digital media(xD) from our camera(Olympus 300 mju) and get out a 6x4 photo of reasonable quality with little fuss. What we got were excellent pictures without any fuss. Borderless prints of superb quality within minutes of opening the box. The photo quality at that size is even very good using the black cartridge with the tricolour one rather than the photo and tricolour mix recommended. The instructions and software are simple to follow( just as well). Its early days yet so I am unable to comment on the economics of running it but its just such a joy to buy something which does what it says it does, cost per print seems a little too churlish at the minute to consider.Not the cheapest to buy but worth it.

Convenient Product

A nice, small smart printer. Very good for basic users. It prints fine quality photos and regular word documents and prints them very fast. Its quite a noisy printer and when printing in colour it does guzzle ink. It doesnt come with a usb cable. to all people who buy read instructions carefully when inserting ink cartridge or you'll be doing it for a while. i would have saved 1 week if i hadn't been such a meathead and just read the manual.
