Standard envelopes 110mm x 220mm

This printer is no good at all... A4 paper is OK but how about envelope to put this paper in ? No sir, tray will not take standard evnelope 110mm x 220mm. Who design this printer? I got it from Amazon for printing hundreds and thousands of these envelopes.... its no good to me so D92 is going back to Amazon next week. I am not blaming printing quality but its very very slow.

When Installing

Unlike other reviewers, I did have a little difficulty installing this scanner on my PC. The solution was to turn off the anti-virus programme before installing. Once I did this, it installed very easily. I find the scanner a tidge slower than I expected when scanning slides, and the film holders are a bit flimsy to my mind. Otherwise good value, and the Epson web-site is good for FAQs etc

Great printer

I am very pleased with this printer, the print it gives is excellent and the wireless capability is also good. The service from amazon is also first class.

Typical Epson

The printer performed well initially but like most Epson printers has a very short lifespan and consumes the ink at an incredible rate. After a month or so of use it failed to re-produce colours, especially skin tones, with any accuracy and no amount of calibration and head cleaning seems to be able to remedy it. Ok if you want larger prints on a budget and can sacrifice quality.

Just got it home and with the help of an 'idiot sheet' installed with ease. Its a massive piece of kit about 18" square and 10" tall but looks a quality build and i think is a real bargain.

Nice & Easy!

There seem to be some reviews here suggesting that the wireless features of this printer are difficult to set up. All I can say is that I cannot agree. Having followed the four-step instructions in the manual, I found it very simple. Yes, the printer has to originally be connected via usb, but how else are you going to add your network settings? So long as your network is all set up correctly it's a matter of adding your encryption key and off you go! I set mine up via Vista and then ran the setup again on my XP computer which found the printer straight away. Good stuff! Also, I can heartily recommend this Marketplace seller. I've always had great service from Pixmania. Vive la France!

Reliable, reasonably priced, hastle-free A3 printing.

I was looking to purchase an A3 printer but was apprehensive about it, owing to the problems I had heard about them in general. This one was reasonably priced and was delivered swiftly. It is a fantastic machine! Reliable, has never chewed up a piece of paper and economical on ink. Highly recommended to anyone looking to purchase an A3 printer.

Bulky and temperamental

Maybe I just got a 'lemon', but after less than a year it bluntly refuses to load paper and so is useless. Original ink cartridges cost the earth and it gets all-sniffy about compatibles, maintaining that the cartridges are empty when they plainly aren't. Also, more often than not, copies came out at a bit of an angle because the paper didn't sit straight in the paper feed.

Absolutely compatable with the BT Home Hub and Vista home premium

I don't know how the previous reviewer with the BT Home hub has their wireless network set up but it is quite obviously wrong neither do I understand what the problem was with the reviewer who could'nt set it up with Windows Vista Home Premium. I nearly did'nt buy this printer because of those two reviews and I would now be missing out on a fabulous printer that works brilliantly with both. I am certainly no expert in setting up anything it is just trial and error as with most people but I had it up and running in a matter of 15 minutes from start to finish, the disc went in I followed the on screen instructions and off it went finding my home network ( BT Home Hub )almost instantly and that was on my Windows Vista Home premium Laptop as well as on my Windows XP Proffesional desktop so please don't believe everything you read or like me you could end up almost missing out too it is worth every penny and more in my opinion, you really won't be disappointed.

Quick and easy?

not as straight forward as the instructions state - needs some careful handling. Once aligning frame is stuck to film, very difficult to re-align without damaging print. Finish on canvas is brilliant.

Vista compatibility

I agree that this Dymo is ok but it's a shame that it is NOT Vista compatible ! They should mention this more prominent !
It is right out theft NOT to do that and not to pay back the money spent on it. It is a useless toy.
I am gobsmacked that they have not made this compatible anyway. What a management ! Sack the Product Developmnet guys.

Absolutely marvellous printer!!

I bought this printer via Amazon and it is brilliant. I started using Canon Pro paper but honestly the output is totally fantastic on Jessops paper too!
Just one small point.... Amazon's ad for this printer says that it is"Dispatched from and sold by pixmania_uk". This is not true. If you buy it from Pixmania be aware that the product will be dispatched to you from France.

Good basic machine

We have had the unit for about 12 months. Does what is says on the box. Really only for home use as I expect it could not cope in office.

Absolutely brilliant, don't hesitate!

We all know PURE pretty much invented the portable DAB radio and reviewers are never slow to point out that PURE sets tend to sound much better than the competition. This is equally true of the new PURE Elan RV40 which is truly one of the best I've heard - and it looks more like a conventional radio too (sleek dark grey case) rather than those strange wood and plastic boxes that PURE tend to churn out - and which I don't like at all. The controls are not exactly intuitive, but with a bit of thought and practise (read the manual first!) they soon become second nature. The sound is really clean and crisp and surprisingly full - and you can crank it up pretty loud too, unlike many other"tinny"-sounding portables. I have had absolutely NO problems whatsoever with DAB sound even though the reception is supposed to be patchy in my neck of the woods. FM reception is first class too and the pause/rewind of live radio is a neat and useful feature. Add to that the inclusion of a snooze button, and you have a brilliant sounding and well-equipped portable radio. I am super-fussy about gadgets like these, but this is absolutely wonderful and I recommend it without hesitation. I also managed to find a dealer on Amazon selling it at approximately £30 less than John Lewis!!!

Scanned my medium format wedding negatives..

I wanted copies of my medium format wedding photo negatives but the cost of getting prints duplicated or scanned by professional photo labs was just too high.

So I looked around for a decent film scanner instead. The Nikon 9000 is very nice, but at £2500 it ought to be. I already had an Epson 2480 flatbed scanner and had used it to scan 35mm slides before with some basic success so I was happy to buy an Epson again. I looked at the Canon 9950 but by all reports the software is awful.

The Epson software is actually really good. It even knows that I have two models of scanner installed and will switch between them. I have to say that in use, scanning the negatives was really easy. As reccommended by Photo-i.co.uk I adjusted the film holder spacers to be 3.5mm (turn them round) and loaded up the scanner. The film holders are flimsy but very sensible. They allow strip film of any size to be put in and the software works out where the gaps are. As long as you tell it which size you are scanning (645, 6x6, 6x9 etc) then it does a really good job of finding the images. The digital ice works well and the default sharpening is at a sensible level. The resolution is way above what I needed but I didn't buy the scanner for that. What I wanted it for was sharpness and colour. The sharpness is good, very good in fact for a flatbed scanner. The colour is outstanding and the shadow and highlight detail really comes through. Film may have grain but it also has a tonality that digital rarely captures.
