Exellent Value, has everything you need

I could not believe the value for money that this package offers. I recently bought a Sony Clie which is absolutely fabulous and I left my all my wires for transfering data and recharging my Sony Clie. I did not know what to do, I thought that I was going to have to pay a huge amount for the things I had lost, the wires for charging the machine and transfering data etc. Then I saw amazon's price for this package witch had everything I needed and immediately bought it. Everything worked perfectly, I had no problems with it and I recommend this to anyone with a Sony Clie needing to buy some accessories cheaply.

blimey it's cool

the sony clie is so cool you won't want to put it down ever again or buy a new pda again. since i got mine my expectations were very low but when i plugged it in to the computer i found out that it was A LOT better than i thought, especially the av remote control, witch i think is excellent and i use it all the time. so i think anybody who buys it will be taken aback by it, so it is definetly worth your money

product support really bad

the support for this product is really bad. the online pages are ambiguous, and the telephone support is a mass of numbers, that can't even connect you. You will spend hours writing down the number of the next person in the chain who won't be able to help you.
i won't be buying anything from sony ever again.

If you were a Psion 5 user... think about it. Seriously.

It took me months to decide on the handheld I wanted. I'd played with PocketPCs and knew that I wasn't happy with the wifi performance or a number of other things about the OS, so I was fairly sure that it was either Linux (Sharp Zaurus) or a Palm device. Looking around, I found that the battery life on the Clie TH55 was by far the best available. On top of that, it included everything I wanted: wifi, camera, and a decent software base for improvement.

So I bought one from Amazon UK (marketplace seller) and tested it out for a few months.

What do I think now? Well, it's been endlessly useful. Software exists to support just about anything I could want to do. Sshing into a server? No problem. FTP? Easy enough. The email client is more than sufficient, and the web browser is surprisingly effective for a system that really shouldn't be able to do half of what it does. I've found that the Japanese habit of carrying such a device around on a lanyard has a lot more sense behind it than I ever imagined, especially for those of us who really do commute, travel, or get bored in meetings!

That said, I'll be looking at the UX-50 for the convenient keyboard, just as soon as I find one available at a second-hand price. If the TH55 suffers from anything, it's low compatibility with the various Palm expansion options such as keyboards and so forth - but it's such a complete platform in and of itself that you won't be needing most of those gadgets anyway.

Nice PDA, BUT..it poor battery life and keeps crashing...

Having read all the other review I bought the Clie T625c and loved it for the first 6 months despite the dreadful cover (no decent alternative case on the market - this product never deserved 5 stars as the terrible case cannot protect it, the buttons also switch itself on in your pocket with the minimal of pressure).

A HUGE drawback is the glorious power hungry screen - make no mistake you will need to charge this often ( I need to daily) -so going off on a weeks trip is risky - you have to buy a travel charger.

I am fed up with looking at a black screen when hours away form my PC. My Clie will not last the train journey from London to Eastbourne - reading novels or editing long documents on the train are out of the question. To conserve power you have to put it on mininmum brighntess setting on the backlight. (When you switch off the backlight,it is illegible.)

Ten months on I am getting alot of problems - the unit switches itself on in my pocket, further draining the power and the Sony supplied software almost always crashes.

I am a heavy PDA user so if you are the type who needs daily constant reliable use from a PDA, avoid this. The solid aluminium hardware is not emulated by the crashy software.

If you only use it a few minutes a day at most then this is adequate for your needs. I personally would not buy this product again.

Take the other reviews here with a pinch of emotional-hyped salt and look again at the brilliant latest Pocket PCs on offer.

It's just not as good as my old Psion Revo

The choice is Palm or Windows. And if you go Palm then from what I've seen the TJ35 is probably one of the best. But it's just not as reliable or easy to use or has as much included software as the late lamented Revo.

The cover snapped on mine; if you're going to use it regularly, you'll need another case and at least one memory stick. That adds about £50 to the purchase price, so don't kid yourself it's inexpensive.

The scroll wheel works well, the screen is clear and hi res. The included Picsel Viewer and MP3 player are both great.. but I still miss my broken Revo.

very pleased with TJ27, not with suggested accessories

When i bought my TJ27 it was very good, At the same time below the item, it gave some more items to buy, well i wanted a desktop cradle to go with it, so i bought the one suggested on the page which when i recieved it was the wrong one (very good eh) after the length of time it took to come. As you can imagine i am still looking for a cradle, can i find one, NO.
So it looks like the pda is very good, but accessories not good.
So be careful.

Clie Ux-50

I bought my Clie Ux-50 about a year ago and I love it. I used to have an ipaq and I liked that too. The Clie thought is so much more stylish and has a lot more features. The built in wireless card works perfectly as does the Bluetooth. The only down side is the lack of programs. When I bought my ipaq it come with word, excel, messenger, etc already on it and you can easily download Microsoft money and pocket streets which unfortunately you can't do with the Clie. You can buy software that does the same stuff but you have to pay I have found. Since looking around I have found some wonderful software that fills all of my needs and more. The Bluetooth is very useful for when it comes synchronising with you computer. Te Bluetooth is also useful for reading your txt messages when you phone is in your pocket and you don't want to get caught by your lecturer (I'm a student).

The camera on the UX-50 is really useful to just take pictures they are perfectly good quality for a portable device not that it would replace a digital camera but is useful if you have it in your pocket. I have a Sony digital camera and it works well being able to take the memory stick out and just put it into your Clie and view your pictures on a bigger screen. The UX-50 does come with a lot of useful software such as the sms reader and the picture viewing utilities. The only problem i have had with the camera is that i can't find a way to view the video's I record on a PC, mind you the pictures work perfectly as you'd expect.

An excellent buy

Sony Clie PEG NX70V

I purchased a Sony Clie just a few weeks ago and I have found this machine absolutely awesome in every respect. It never stops to amaze me, as everyday I find different functions I can do on it.
The screen quality is just stunning and camera and movie playback is a great feature. The quality of sound from both the movie and mp3 player using the earphones is just excellent. The pda is slim with large screen for excellent viewing and is well made, housed in a silver case with a rotating screen with neatly fitted camera for photos and movie taking.
You can extend the memory facilities by using a memory stick, a Sony Magicgate 256 MB can be used by downloading a patch off the internet. It has a 200MHZ processor which makes application viewing quick, the OS 5 operating system on the desk top is easy to get around and use. I would certainly recommend this machine to anyone who was thinking of purchasing a pda. It has everything one could need in a tiny hand held computer from storing and retrieving data, pictures & movie footage, even a remote control for your television, also voice recording for that important message taking. Sony has even included a built in keyboard, so you can type in your data. (Good Work Sony!)
