Review for Intempo Digital RDI iPod Speaker Dock With Built In DAB:
Great sounds and build quality
OK this item is agreed a tad expensive. However this is a quality product, the case is very well constructed with two speakers at the frount and a back bass speaker which means the unit produces very clear sound. Reception from the DAB radio also very good. I particuarly like the way the ipod doc pushes in when not in use.3

Easy to use but poor sound
Far from the 'great sound' mentioned by other reviewers, I find the sound lacking totally in treble. It's a muddy sound with no real clarity. This is a shame as the radio works extremely well.

Review for Pure VL-60923 ChargePAK C6L:
Once the product starts to loose its charge, it can run flat in a short space of time. I recon from three bars on the radio charge indicator to the radio ceasing to work was about 25mins. This can be a pain, so I now make sure that it is connected to the mains every couple of days...not a great problem, but buyers should be aware that the battery pack can loose its charge quickley, like its smaller re-chargeable battery brothers.

Review for Kensington Si600 Wireless Presenter with Laser Pointer - Presentation remote control - radio:
I bought this especially for an AGM which I am chairing, and I refuse to return to the lecturn for every click when I am on a massive stage. For those who want to give really good presentations, and want to move around more and interact more with the audience, this is great. You are never tied down to returning or standing by the laptop/computer just to carry on. The lazer is also brilliant for pointing out things in pictures or videos (yet another way to keep the audience amused).
I always buy products from Amazon according to what others say in their reviews, and to anyone reading this and thinking about buying it. Then all I can say is don't hesitate one more moment.

Couldn't be better
I bought the remote, not actually needing it for a week or two, with next day delivery. I've seen the remotes in action, and have used one in the past and I was terribly eager to get my hands on one... The first thing I did (after tearing through the packaging like a kid on Christmas morning) was plug it in and open up an old presentation. My lord! I sat there for hours going back and forth, using the blackout function (the screen fades to black at the touch of a button, incredibly helpful if you need to move on to something else for a while, or there is a break). The design is perfect, the way the usb receiver fits into the remote and turns off the power, and so elegantly retracts back out aswell.I bought this especially for an AGM which I am chairing, and I refuse to return to the lecturn for every click when I am on a massive stage. This looks like my wife.
Finally got fed up with my old radio alarm as I needed to get my glasses on to tune it. Having already got a Roberts DAB portable radio and a Bose Wave DAB in the lounge decided it was time to splash out on one for the bedroom. Looked at the options and read the reviews. The PURE Siesta came out ahead of all the others and to cap it all it is SO reasonably priced. Came nicely boxed and installed in minutes. Turned it on and the clock immediately showed the correct time and found my favourite station with no trouble at all. Rather than a big aerial shooting up there is just a nice little wire aerial that hangs down behind the bedside cabinet. Reception is brilliant, tone is nice and when beefing up the volume there is no distortion. As the heading says - it looks like my wife - small and beautifully formed. Brilliant!!

Review for Altec Lansing IM600 inMotion FM Radio Docking Station:
The iM600 looks beautiful, does indeed slip into the Case Logic R&B 72 CD holder referred to elsewhere (£11.99 from PC World - Bose rip you another £50 for their case!).
Sound quality is excellent, with incredibly tight, if not deafening, bass and remarkably well detailed treble. Volume, without distortion, is more than sufficient to fill a medium room and kill conversation. The radio works perfectly, and the battery appears to hold its charge for at least the 7 hours claimed. I love these beauties!!
(They are still available from the Apple store for £99 including delivery - mine arrived within 48 hours).

Bose beaters!!
Fantastic little speakers! Like many I spent some time researching this purchase, and listened to quite a few of the other makers' offerings. Given that portability was one of main requirements, my choice was essentially limited to this or the Bose (£279). Don't get me wrong, the Bose does sound good, but I'd have to have won the lottery before forking out nearly 3 times as much! The iM600 looks beautiful, does indeed slip into the Case Logic R&B 72 CD holder referred to elsewhere (£11.99 from PC World - Bose rip you another £50 for their case!).

Review for Griffin RoadTrip 4031 - FM Transmitter & Charger for iPods - Black:
I bought a Belkin Tunebase II in Dixons (£49.99). Pants. Had to take it back for a refund - my iPod 1st generation didn't fit the holder satisfactorily (and neither did any other more recent iPod in the family) AND the gadget didn't charge the iPod AND you couldn't work the dial on the iPod. Also, the swan-neck bendy thing wobbled if you gave it a dirty look let alone drove over a bump.
This Griffin 4031 was completely numpty-proof - stuck it in the fag lighter, shoved in the iPod and bosh - top quality sound comes out of the radio. I can see that you might have a slight problem if you have to use the extension to get the unit far enough out from the fag lighter socket or if space is restricted but mine rests a little of its weight on the gear shift housing and it's fine. My iPod is ancient and as heavy as they come so if you've got a newer, lighter-weight iPod and your fag lighter socket is easily accessible then you should have no probs whatever. For the money, it's far better value than the Belkin. I give it 4* because it could be a little lighter in weight and for some cars with inaccessible lighter sockets, weight and the added mechanical advantage of using the extension could be a problem but then, that's more of a problem with your car's layout than the device.

Review for PURE Chronos iDock, DAB Digital and FM clock radio with iPod Dock (black):
It works really well as a DAB radio, stations are easy to find, and sound good (I am in London).
I was worried before buying the idock as I wanted to use it with my iphone which is not officially supported. However, I have had no problems doing this, including using the remote control, and it sounds good, even with audiobooks. I should point out that I am not a music geek, so as long as the music sounds clear and not tinny I am happy! I have not had any of the buzzing at low volume that other people have complained of.
I was really undecided as to whether to buy this or the intempo RDI which does pretty much the same job, but after I went to look at them both in John Lewis I decided on this one as it is more compact and the ipod dock seemed more robust.
The other reason I like the Pure Chronos idock is that it is made to have as little impact on the environment as possible, both during manufacture and use. I do not find it to be overly light or flimsy as some of the reviewers have mentioned, and overall I am extremely pleased.
I am not a big review writer, but this idock seems to have been harshly reviewed on amazon, so I thought I would add my very positive experience! Hope it it useful.

Review for Pure One DAB/FM Portable Radio - White:
The other four award it four stars. Take the trouble to read what they say because they pinpoint one of the irritations I have found in this otherwise excellent radio.
The basic problem is the process for selecting stations. Before buying, I read the description that says the radio has 20 presets. I thought this would mean I could simply switch between preset stations by pressing one button. This was a feature I was looking for.
But this isn't how it works. Look at the picture. To select a station you press one of the small silver buttons which is labelled Presets. The screen then shows the name of the station stored on preset number 1. If you want this station, you press the big button in the middle. But if you want a different station you have to turn the big button to select the one you want. As you turn the button the screen shows each preset station in sequence. When you find the one you want, you press the big button to select it. The same process is used for selecting stations that are not stored as presets except that you start with the small button labelled Stations instead of Presets.
So instead of one action to select a station it's three - (1) press small button, (2) turn big button, (3) press big button.
If, like me, you have two stations that you listen to most of the time, you can use the small button that switches between FM and DAB as a preset button instead. If you're on a DAB station, pressing the FM/DAB button will take you to the last FM station you were listening to. Pressing the button once again will take you back to your last DAB station. The radio produces excellent sound on FM so it makes no difference in my area whether you listen to DAB or FM. This would not be the case in all areas.
This radio, like so many other items on sale today is made in China. The only disadvantage seems to be that its clock display appears to be running on Chinese time, with 65 seconds per minute instead of the 60 that are the norm for this time zone. (It's lucky that the clock doesn't also show days of the week. It's a little known fact that Mao Tse Tung was a great fan of the Beatles and it was through the influence of their music that he decided to switch China to eight days a week. This partly explains the country's economic success in recent years.)
"What can all this mean?" I hear you ask. If you will give me your very close attention I will explain.
What this means in practice is that the minute numeral (that's"minute" rhyming with"innit", not"my newt") on the time display will advance by one every 65 seconds. (Seconds are not displayed so you need to watch a clock with a second hand to check this.) So, for example, imagine that the minute numeral advances to ten past the hour at, say, three seconds past the minute. It will then advance to 11 minutes past the hour, not 60 seconds later but 65 seconds later at eight seconds past the minute.
This pattern continues every 65 seconds until around 58 seconds past the minute, by which time the minute numeral is advancing almost a minute late. However, at this point the clock makes an adjustment and just five seconds later it advances by a further minute. I hesitate to call it a correction because the clock is still not correct but at least it's only three seconds or so slow. This adjustment brings the clock the closest it gets to being accurate. It then begins the 65 second cycle again, losing five seconds every minute.
To find out why this might be happening I turned to the Pure website since although they don't make the radios they presumably produce the design. I was relieved to see under the Frequently Asked Questions section a question on why the clock on the radio was showing the wrong time. Briefly, the answer says that the time is broadcast by the broadcasters and if it's wrong on the radio this is because they are broadcasting the wrong time. The radio just displays what it's told by the broadcasters. So all is clear. The broadcasters are working on a 65-second minute, not the Chinese after all.
I turned to the BBC to find out why they had adopted this unusual practice. They denied that they transmit a time signal based on a 65-second minute. I have no way of checking this as I would need a second DAB radio to confirm whether they use conventional minutes or not. But I'm inclined to believe them and think it's more likely that the radio is doing this odd timekeeping.
Does this matter? Probably not. It's just bizarre that any software programmer would have chosen to make a clock advance one minute every 65 seconds instead of every 60 seconds. But if you find you've missed the first minute of a radio programme through relying on the clock radio for its start time, now you know why.
Post Script. I have now been advised by a Chinese friend that I was under a foolish misapprehension if I ever really believed that the Chinese use a 65-second minute. As for the eight-day week, this was just a case of half-remembered misinformation - it was actually a hard day's night that was the inspiration for the Chinese economic success.

Great at first but stops working after a week or two
I bought an i trip to listen to my ipod in the car. i was really pleased with it at first it worked great. But after a week or 2 i soon changed my mind. It now takes ages to get it to power up plugging it in unplugging it pausing and plaing track. then it will work for 5 mins then turn off again and you have to go through the whole process again. its infuriating. I WOULDN'T BUY THIS PRODUCT. IN MY OPINION IT'S A WASTE OF MONEY.16
Review for PURE VL-60914 Chronos CD, DAB/FM/CD/MP3 Stereo Clock Radio (black):
It was easy to set up, the wire aerial needs a bit of adjusting but no problems with any humming so far (as previously mentioned) and buttons are fine (I prefer them on the side as they dont collect dust so much!) The auto-dimming feature for the display is handy and the CD player is great for bedroom use. The snooze timing can be reset easily. All round a great little piece of kit if you have a small bedside table!

Easy to use, good reception on FM, good value
I wanted a small radio for use on the move which could be used without referring to an instruction manual and without needing to put my glasses on. This little Sony unit does the business. The controls are well spaced and simple to operate, with the tuning wheel have a good degree of resistance so it stays in the right place once you've selected a station. The sound quality is very acceptable. Only 4 stars because the supplied headphones are pretty useless - I bought a cheap pair of Panasonic"outside ear" phones which are comfortable and give very good sound quality.18

You don't always get what you pay for! You get better
Prior to buying this I had read the reviews and purchased the item with a touch of scepticism. I paid the princely sum of 0.01p and I can tell you it is the best penny I have spent. The item arrived a couple of days after ordering. It was very easy to set up (it took me all of two minutes)and it works perfectly well from my car radio. Other reviews have mentioned poor sound quality. All I can say is that for the price I paid for this gadget the sound quality is excellent. If they want better sound, then spend a considerable amount more and get a BOSE system. They say that you get what you pay for, but this is an example of sometimes you get much better than you pay for. Yes - it's another 3 star review! Such a pity too, for altogether I love this radio with it's lifelike quality sound, easy-use menu, handy (if pricy) SD card recording, and classy looks. But in common with other purchasers I have to use it plugged into the mains, so largely it's stationary, as it's fairly large to lug about to another socket! Frankly, even if I could get the Chargepaks easily I'd be doubtful about buying them, as the stories of them going on fire etc., scare the socks off me!Still, it's a decent product otherwise, so I hope in years to come the manufacturer gets the"battery" issues sorted out for the newer versions.

Review for Bunny Alarm Clock Blue Child Sleep Trainer:
Not for us
Our two and a half year old loved the idea of this, but it just didn't work for us in practice. The three problems were that firstly it was too dark for her to see the screen; secondly the alarm 'hand' is so sensitive that when you try to set it to a time within half an hour of the current time (e.g. if you put your child to bed at 7.30 and want to set it for 7am) it wouldn't set; and thirdly the eyes open so loudly the clock actually woke her up! Another bunny clock on the market with a lit LED screen works much better for us.Radios & DAB, Pure Highway In-Car DAB Radio With FM Transmitter - Black, Intempo Digital RDI iPod Speaker Dock With Built In DAB, Griffin iTrip Auto FM Transmitter for iPod - Black, Pure One DAB/FM Portable Radio - Black, Pure VL-60923 ChargePAK C6L, Kensington Si600 Wireless Presenter with Laser Pointer - Presentation remote control - radio, PURE VL-60907UK Siesta, Black DAB Digital Clock Radio, Altec Lansing IM600 inMotion FM Radio Docking Station, Pure PocketDAB 1500 Personal Rechargeable DAB/FM Digital Radio, Griffin RoadTrip 4031 - FM Transmitter & Charger for iPods - Black, PURE Chronos iDock, DAB Digital and FM clock radio with iPod Dock (black), Pure One DAB/FM Portable Radio - White, Apple iPod Radio Remote, Griffin iTrip - FM Transmitter for iPod Video - Black, 3.5mm Stereo Jack Plug to 3.5mm Stereo Jack Plug 1.2M, PURE VL-60914 Chronos CD, DAB/FM/CD/MP3 Stereo Clock Radio (black), Sony SRF-S84 FM/AM Radio Walkman - Silver, MY-Link Wireless LCD FM Transmitter Radio Mp3 IPOD 205 channels, Pure EVOKE-2XT, Luxury DAB/FM Portable Radio with Alarm - Maple, Bunny Alarm Clock Blue Child Sleep Trainer

Good.......when it works
First signs were good, tuned in easily, picked up plenty of DAB stations and FM transmission good, then I drove off, keeps cutting out, just not enough signal strength on my commute (M/A27 Southampton to Chichester). Shame as when there is a signal it sounds really good but cutting out as often and for as long as it does renders it almost useless. I will be contacting Amazon with a view to returning it for a refund.
