Review for Sony ICFC218S Clock Radio:
As soon as i plugged it in the time and date set itself- wow! Really simple to use. The green display is large and i was worried it would be really bright- its not at all and it is still perfectly visable.
I did think though that it was a little bigger than i expected, but still its stylish and i would definately recommend it!
£17 from amazon is a bit steep though!

Solid & Great Sound
Just to echo all the other reviews (white & black versions)and confirm this is quality at a very good price. The designers have obviously taken more than a nod from Bose and Apple. The shiny solid plastic and detail is Apple and the boxy no nonsense shape is pure Bose. With the cloth front grille and a couple of bass ports at the back sound quality was obviously a high consideration. It more than exceeded my expectations and certainly deserves the rave reviews. Recommended and I would buy again.64

Review for Creative Soundworks 745 Table Top Radio and CD player Black:
The sound was euphonic rather than pure hi-fi. But the Top 40 on a Sunday night sounded good. The bass rumbled away, voices soared out of the cabinetry and Tommy Vance seemed as if he was, if not exactly in the room, at least very close by. It was the best that Patsy Gallant ever sounded.
And that's what the Creative Soundworks 745 sounds like. A 1960s big, euphonic sound, unbelievably from a largish shoe box that sits on the smallest of your nest of tables. The integration between the hidden subwoofer and the tiny speakers at each end of the box is incredible. Treat it like a portable. Just plug it in, switch it on and off you go. On the downside, the remote looks like it came out of a cereal packet, but that's about it. Now I can listen 1960s-style again, in the room next door, imagining that the music's coming from a box the size of a sideboard.

Review for Creative Soundworks 745 Table Top Radio and CD player Black:
Huge Sound from a Shoebox
You know when you stand outside the room the music's coming from and you wonder what might be playing it? The first time I did that, it was my parents' 1960s HMV stereo radiogram - five feet wide with big elliptical speakers at either end and a valve receiver in the middle. The cabinet was made out of wood, there was plenty of metal and not a sign of plastic - a bakelite knob here and there - but that was about it.The sound was euphonic rather than pure hi-fi. But the Top 40 on a Sunday night sounded good. The bass rumbled away, voices soared out of the cabinetry and Tommy Vance seemed as if he was, if not exactly in the room, at least very close by. Review for Motorola TLKR T5 Two Way Radio Twin Pack - Black:
The loop is handy for putting a lanyard or clip on. It remembers the volume and channel settings when you switch it off.
The speech is clear, just remember to key up, count to three and then start talking or you'll only get half the sentence.
On the down side, the optional 12v dc charger has not materialised as of yet, which is a shame as I bought these to use on a narrowboat and being able to charge it off the dc socket would of been a godsend. Take the range with a pinch of salt but they are fine for afew hundred yards.
All in all they do what it says on the box .

Review for Sony MEX-BT2600 Bluetooth CD Tuner:
I bought this from new image hifi who sent it quickly and well packed. The free gift was missing but they have promised to send one on.
The item comes with a harness ( one into two) one for the speakers and one for the power cables and an arial adaptor. I have an audi a2. Plug the exisiting inputs in and away you go. Blooth tooth works a treat ( both music streaming and phone calls/answer) and the stereo sounds great. One can control the phone re music and calling via the headunit. Even voice activation works.
Advantages over previous model i am aware of-1. this has pre-amp outs but i did not need these and one can attach a steering column/ joy stick as well as ipod via a special module to buy separately.
best wishes

Review for Sony Entry CD Clock Radio ICF-CD814:
As with other Sony items, the plastic casing feels solid and built to last. The sound is fine for a unit of this price with enough volume to reach the far side of a double bed :) The radio works well on FM but AM reception is hampered by the sheer number of radio stations elbowing each other for bandwidth. Consequently AM selectivity is not great. The FM aerial consists of a length of thin wire issuing from a hole at the rear of the unit which is why I think it was added late in the design process.
There are two independent alarm systems which can wake you with either radio, CD or buzzer. The utility of having two alarms in a single unit escapes me - unless your partner has long enough arms to reach the snooze button from the opposite side of the bed. The 'buzzer' beeps like a travel alarm clock - not like a mains driven unit - and, given the unit's night-time ambiance, viewed from the level of a pillow, of a Sherman tank, seems rather incongruous and pathetic.
The CD allows you to step through the tracks sequentially but there's no random play or repeat function. There are 'sleep' intervals of 90, 60, 30 and 15 minutes to turn off the radio or CD. The alarm 'snooze' time can be set from 10 to 60 minutes in multiples of 10.
The display digits are 35mm high with three switchable brightness settings which seem to cover most situations. There's an 'audio in' socket to connect your portable MP3 player (not controlled by the sleep timer).
Overall? No prizes for beauty but, at half the cost and a third the size of a more stylish item, I feel justified in sacrificed my aesthetic needs at the alter of pecuniary interest.

Review for Sony Entry CD Clock Radio ICF-CD814:
Sound build, adequate function
This product has the dimension and style of a biscuit tin, 'buzzers' that beep and an FM aerial that looks as if someone in the design department realised"Der crumbs Maisey, we forgot the FM aerial" just as the first batch was coming off the assembly line. Apart from that, it's fine.As with other Sony items, the plastic casing feels solid and built to last. The sound is fine for a unit of this price with enough volume to reach the far side of a double bed :) The radio works well on FM but AM reception is hampered by the sheer number of radio stations elbowing each other for bandwidth. Review for Freeplay Companion Rechargeable Radio/Flashlight/Phone Charger:
Amazing wee radio!
Arrived this morning, gave it a quick wind, which I probably didn't need to do and it's been playing for 3 hours. Very clear sound and better AM reception than my Roberts that cost 3 times this little beauty. Roberts also 'eats' batteries in the kind of outdoor use that I have it for. Not a problem now with a Freeplay! All up, an excellent, compact, robust, water resistant bit of kit that looks like it will be my radio of choice for years to come...71

Good radio
This is a high quality product from Sony which, as you might expect, is sturdily built and extremely durable. It's quite bulky for a personal radio, and on removing the packaging you might be surprised by how thick it is. Also, it only sends sound to the one side of the headphones, so it's not ideal for listening to music. Otherwise it's fine and cheap at the price.72

absolute rip off
I BOUGHT ISYMPHONY MK2, IT WORKED FOR A SMALL WHILE AND THEN GAVE UP COMPLETELY, TRIED TO GET IN TOUCH WITH THE MANUFACTURE BUT NOTHING, IT IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY AND NOBODY WILL DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. SO IN MY OPINION IT IS A RIP OFF AND I ADVISE ANYBODY TO NOT BUY THERE PRODUCTS AS THERE IS NO AFTERCARE. FROM A VERY ANGRY AND FRUSTRATED PURCHASER.73
Review for Roberts ROBI Radio:
I recently(Aug 2008)tried the robi again to see if recent itunes/ipod software updates had resolved this issue.
GOOD NEWS! The updates seem to have stopped the robi switching off.

The issues over the 'robi' switching off seem to be resolved
I have had a robi since March of this year. An itunes/ipod software update from Feb 2008 caused this unit to switch itself off after a couple of minutes of use, rendering it useless (see reviews below)I recently(Aug 2008)tried the robi again to see if recent itunes/ipod software updates had resolved this issue.

Good reliable Radio
I did my homework before plumping for this radio made by one of my fave companies.Very easy to use.Setting up took less than 5 minutes.I work shifts and being able to switch between 2 alarm times is very useful.Alarms are nice and loud and you can choose from 3 differant tunes,or wake to the radio. The radio seems adequate and covers the 3 bands, which is quite unusual for this type of radio, methinks. The display is bright and can be adjusted to 3 settings.Only downer is the lack of a backup battery,so pray for no power cuts at night!.All in all a very well made product.76

This is a superb personal radio with easy to use controls, easy to set up and an ideal size. Earphones are comfortable and don't fall out at the least shake of the head! What really surprised me was the quality of sound from such a small unit. All in all, a good buy that I would recommend to anyone. Shame about the delivery of the third party supplier.77

Review for Philips AJ100/05 Clock Radio:
There are only 5 pre-sets for radio stations and although there are two alarms, as far as I can tell you can only have one radio alarm and one buzzer alarm.
There is a large button at the top of the alarm that has a double function: sleep button for alarm and dimmer switch for the backlight.
All in it's a nice little alarm. I would however, echo the previous comments that in the age of space tourism, cloning and quantum engineering that I'd expect a little bit more from an alarm. Especially when you can buy a freeview box/multi region dvd player for the same price.

Review for Sony XDRS55DABB Light & Compact DAB Portable Radio:
However as a regular daily runner runner without using the mains lead it could however become more expensive than living under a labour government.
Whilst many reviews have quite rightly mentioned the battery life this is in keeping with all DAB products that I have owned and to be fair is more of a technology issue than a"design flaw" in this product, neither Roberts or Pure offer any better battery life from experience in both brands.
This unit will run for approx 8 hours on decent Duracell's. Sound is louder than most simliarly priced radio's offering decent clarity for all music types.
I would thoroughly recommmend this product and at the price and being by Sony you are sure that it will last for a few years, fingers crossed.

Slim, sleek and portable, ideal for beach journeys, picnics or taking on hols. Great little mouse!
Very easy to set up and configure on my new macbook. The mouse is white so looks good alongside. Horizontal scroll was of no use to me at all but configured it so that left is application windows and right is all windows allowing great ease of use. The scroll wheel click I set to spaces so i can flick through anything i want without even having to touch the keyboard!Connects well and works on the couch and bed as well as table top. All in all well worth the money spent and getting loads of use out of it. Batteries are still going strong after a couple of months however I do turn it off overnight!
