Intempo iDab DAB Adaptor For iPod - Silver
Buyer beware - I have written confirmation from Intempo that the iDab is NOT compatible with the Bose SoundDock. They are working on a solution, but if you want to use it with the Bose SoundDock then you would be wise to wait until you have written confirmation of its compatibility. Their advert on their website still indicates that it IS compatible with"All" iPod docking stations.

Review for Squeezebox Wireless Network Music Player - All Black:
But...
When I got my first Squeezebox 3 I was slightly underwhelmed by the music quality. It was good, but it lacked a bit of sparkle when compared to the original CD (and that was with flac files). There was a lot of discussion on various Squeezebox forums about upgrading the power supply, so I gave that a try. All sorts of exotic and expensive solutions were recommended, but they didn't have any of that stuff down at Maplins. So I ended up buying a"Variable Voltage Switched Mode AC/CD Mains Adapter" for about £30.
Boy, did that make a difference. Now I can't tell the difference between the Squeezebox & CDs when I switch my amp between the 2 different sources.
Now I generally think that the hi-fi"business" of spending silly money on 6" lengths of wire is a bit"emperors new clothes", unless you have the hearing ability of a bat (or cat). So if I can hear a difference, there really is one. I guess it's because the new power supply can deliver 5 amps as opposed to the 2 amps of the original equipment.
I'll add a proviso here - it's a year or 2 since I bought me Squeezeboxes and they may have improved the power supply since then. Check its amperage rating I guess.
Apart from that, I endorse all the 5 star ratings here. It's great. It will make you realise how bad the tagging is on all your music files though. Get ready for a few evenings trying to get them all sorted!

Review for JVC - KD-G351E USB CD/MP3 Car Radio:
I was originally looking for a pioneer unit to replace my sony but saw this unit and thought this fits my requirements.
I removed my original sony unit (liked jumping when playing back) and installed the jvc unit using the exisiting sony wiring, its works fine but the balance and fader are the other way round (most probably the wiring compatibility) but not an issue, informative manual and extra iso (I think) wiring connector.
The electric ariel did not work, not sure if it's the jvc unit or the ariel died, as I am not going to use it I did not plug the other unit back in as a test
I think it has an eq onboard but I setup the old fashioned bass n treble way with the added loud turned on, its 24bit and the cd,usb & ipod playback are absolutely fantastic...its seriously loud no need for an amp.
I threw in a fat32 formatted usb tiny (short usb is better) flash drive packed with music into the covered slot at the front right, it automatically started to read, displays the name etc...it is simple to navigate (up n down, left n right) fast forwarding (not skipping) through 1 usb track is slow (slow but works) so I would be avoiding one of those all in 1 mix tracks albums if you like the end song.
My Ipod also connects via the usb (slow fast forwarding through 1 track) no need to turn the ipod on - great!
It displays a nice red glow at night, you can turn down the facia music display within the settings - I preferred the dimmed settings.
Removing and putting back the facia is a doddle, you get no carry case or steering remote with this model but I don't need either
It has a tiny aux input at the front right (i haven't used it)
I found it straight forward and perfect for what I needed, would I recommend it yes I would.

Review for Sony ICF-SW12S Compact World Band Travel Radio:
What I really liked is that everything is manual, no annoying electronic features that take you 4 hours reading the manual. The sound quality is also very good for such a small device and certainly sufficent for world service, though probably not for someone who really wants to focus on music. I bought this for a studying holiday in Rome and it really served its purpose of allowing me to listen to the local radio and foreign stations, it now travels with me everywhere. The only negative point I can think of is that the noise of the alarm is very irritating but then perhaps its supposed to be.

Review for Sony ICF-SW12S Compact World Band Travel Radio:
Just what I was looking for
As I travel a lot and like to listen to world service I was looking for a small portable radio, with a built in alarm clock but which also received short wave. Thats easier said than done as radios seem to have gone out of fashion and everyone seems to sell gadgets with too many features. This radio fitted my requirements perfectly, its lightweight, tiny, folds in 2 so is more resistant to falling on the floor, has a little snooze light so you can check the time in the dark and gets excellent short wave reception. You don't even have to change the time as you tell it the time zone and the time adujsts automatically. What I really liked is that everything is manual, no annoying electronic features that take you 4 hours reading the manual. The sound quality is also very good for such a small device and certainly sufficent for world service, though probably not for someone who really wants to focus on music. Review for Roberts Sound 41 DAB/FM/MP3/WMA Stereo Radio Recorder with EPG:
There is also the ability to program the receiver to record DAB programmes using an SD card - this is accomplished very easily by finding a programme on the Electronic Programme Data that the receiver downloads and pressing the record button. The receiver will then switch to record mode when the programme starts and record to the SD card. Up to 12 recordings can be programmed at one time.
You also have the facility to pause the playback of a DAB channel that you're listening to for up to several minutes, then come back and resume playback of the programme where you left off. Great for taking telephone calls or making a quick cuppa tea.
And you have the great Roberts sound(unbeatable in portable radios) and a nice, aesthetic design too. In addition the receiver can receive FM broadcasts as well as DAB. The radio can be connected to a PC with a USB lead for downloading software updates (I haven't tried this yet). This set is good value for what it does.
But there are always some setbacks, here they are for the RD41:
The main display lights up when plugged in to the mains adaptor and can't be turned off. Even at 10%, the display gives a ghostly blue light if the receiver is plugged into the adaptor overnight - with 50hrs use from the six D-cells, it will often be used with adaptor too.
Confusingly when a programme is recorded on the SD card, only the finish time of the programme, date and the station is available on the display. This makes it extremely difficult to work out which programme is which if you have recorded several.
No batteries, SD card (even a small one) or USB lead are included in the box when you buy this radio, so the first thing you have to do is go out and buy batteries and an SD card - a 1GB card will be more than sufficient. Roberts - please provide these things in the box...
The manual states that the radio isn't compatible with all SD cards but doesn't say which are incompatible. I've put a Sandisk 2GB in mine and it works fine.
Oh and this radio can't be updated to DAB+ if it comes along in the next couple of years. To be fair, I did ask Roberts about this via email, and their response is that DAB+ will not happen in the UK for a very very long time if at all. I hope they're right.
All in all this radio is recommended - it does what it does really well, picks up DAB stations and produces excellent, crisp sound. It is surprisingly intuitive to use and delivers great functionality and the ability to record radio programmes with ease. I use it to record plays and serials in the main.
Though it isn't perfect I think this receiver does deserve 4-stars as it is good value for money given its sound and features.

Great features and sound make for a great DAB radio
This radio has got lots of features that make it an excellent purchase. Review for Labtec media wireless desktop 800:
It's fine if you want to keep your mouse and keyboard close to your computer (or less than a meter away) - but no good if you are wanting to operate over longer distances (unless you fancy trailing the reciever out onto a USB extention line - which kind of defeats the purpose)

Disappointing range (approx 1 meter)
The labtec media wireless desktop turned up quickly and in good condition, but I was very disappointed by the range over which they operate. (unfortunately the tech spec on Amazon didn't list the range). It's fine if you want to keep your mouse and keyboard close to your computer (or less than a meter away) - but no good if you are wanting to operate over longer distances (unless you fancy trailing the reciever out onto a USB extention line - which kind of defeats the purpose)

Review for NEW Roberts Black Solar Powered DAB Digital Radio UK:
First impressions: Good quality build, rubberised controls, but no carrying handle. Headphone socket, mains adaptor socket and MP3 inputs on rear case. The mains adaptor itself covers 100-240V. You also have menu options as per which country you want the radio 'set up' to work in when you first switch it on.
Battery pack is 3 'AA' sized 2000mA nimh batteries wrapped in plastic that fit in a compartment in the bottom of the radio secured with 2 screws and has a tiny plug/socket connection.Has a rubber-ducky type antenna, which screws into place on the top. This has a telescopic antenna built in, but you may find (as I did) that the smaller antenna is sufficient in strong signal areas.
When switched on for the 1st time, tunes in very quickly to available stations. Sound quality more than adequate, but lacks a tone control. A glaring absence is the lack of FM. Radio had both band III and L-Band, so will receive transmissions abroad.
Solar panel is a 1 inch wide by approx 8 inch long strip along the top surface of the radio. Instructions warn that this will only produce current in natural sunlight, (so unlike my solar powered watch), cannot use fluorescent light for power.
There is a useful meter on the display relating to the solar panel, which indicates whether any sunlight is reaching the panel. According to the manual: If the meter shows some light, this supplements the battery pack. Over 50% will power the radio and provide some charge and if all the bars are shown, then enough to charge and power the radio at a moderate volume. It is not recommended to use the radio without the battery pack installed.
Battery pack requires an initial 24 hour conditioning charge.
I would have awarded it 5 stars, as it is a great idea, but:
No FM
No tone control
No carrying handle (even a removable one so solar panel can be unobstructed)
Does not use easily replaceable (and cheap) 'AA' batteries, rather than a battery pack costing 3 times as much when it finally dies.
Detract 1 star from the above. I use in more than one location, one of these is where DAB is very poor, hence FM would have been useful.

Good Quality, but.........
I bought one of these to use in the garden, being no mains power and not wanting to spend a small fortune on 6 'D' sized batteries for my other radio.First impressions: Good quality build, rubberised controls, but no carrying handle. Review for Sony ICF-C1IPMK2 Speaker Dock and Clock Radio with iPod Dock (Black):
I hate having to faff-around and was in the position of having to remove the silicone skin I have on the phone to put it into the 3G dock at night (even though it is quite thin). For me it's rendered the official dock (and extra cost!) rather obsolete but that's another story...
The adjustable wheel on this Sony has solved the problem and has allowed me to listen to all my podcasts easily.
Functionality to drive the phone through the remote control is better than expected and it charges fine.
The unit itself gives good sound quality (for the price) and has all of the functions you need in a clock radio.
To be fair, the overall design is a bit odd - it does look top heavy and I can understand why people may suspect instability - although I've applied pressure to a number of points and it seems ok. The top controls could probably do with some livening up colour wise, if I had to be picky.
The backlight is probably on a par with my old Phillips unit. Yes it's quite bright (although adjustable in three steps) but personally this doesn't bother me a jot.
Everything considered, a great little purchase.

Review for Shower Tap Radio:
Good for the money
I bought this as a gift for a friend of mine who loves listening to music in the shower. I spent ages looking for a decent radio which would be waterproof but not cost the earth. After much research I plumped for this one on the basis that unless you spent a lot you didn't seem to get much more for your money than this could provide. It has turned out to be a brilliant buy, it works really well and is still working a year on. It doens't stay stuck to the wall very well but this isn't really a big problem. Don't expect amazing sound but for the money I would say it's pretty hard to beat.116
Review for iHome IH8 Clock Radio for iPod - Black:
As I have a new version of the iPod Nano, there is no specfic holder for it, the Nano holder supplied is for the older, narrower version, however I found one of the others to be suitable. The sound quality is fantastic! For both music and the clarity of voices of people talking on the radio.
The dual alarm system is very useful so you can choose whether to wake up to the radio or your iPod, and there is also a buzzer for when it is not plugged into the mains. So it is always guarenteed to wake you up on time!
The screen display is very clear and has a nice bright blue background light, which can be dimmed or turned off so it is great for use in the bedroom as the light does not impact on the darkness of your room.
All the controls on the dock itself and the remote are very simple to use.
The only downside would be that you can't turn off the button lights on the top even when you have dimmed the backlight. Although these lights are very small and can't be seen whilst in bed. Its just a matter of power consumption. Unless you unplug it, but then you can't wake up to the radio or iPod.
Never the less it is a fantastic product and I would recommend it to anybody!

A great little unit
A great little unit comes with a remote controller which is not always mentioned but very useful. Controls are well placed and easy to use. I could have wished for a slightly better tone but mega bass is available which makes a lot of difference. I really congratulate Sony for using re-cyled cardboard packing instead of that ghastly plastic foam which gets everywhere these days. Just missed giving it 5 stars because the price is just a tad high for the speaker quality which one gets.118

Super little radio
After being disappointed with my purchase of a Pure Evoke 1s and eventually returning it to Amazon for a refund, I bought this little black number and am very impressed with such a clear rich sound quality from such a small radio. It also lasts several weeks between recharges using 4 2500 mAh Ni-MH batteries. It's a lot of radio for little money.Radios & DAB, Logitech MX1000 Wireless Laser Mouse, Intempo iDAB Granite Black - DAB Radio For iPod And Speakers, NEW Roberts Robi DAB FM Digital Radio & Remote For iPod, Clocky Alarm Clock, Squeezebox Wireless Network Music Player - All Black, NAF NAF - LYS v2""Sunrise effect"" Radio Alarm Clock Lamp - blue, JVC - KD-G351E USB CD/MP3 Car Radio, Doro WT77 7K Two Way Radio 8 Channel - Black & Red, Sony ICF-SW12S Compact World Band Travel Radio, Roberts Sound 41 DAB/FM/MP3/WMA Stereo Radio Recorder with EPG, Labtec media wireless desktop 800, NEW Roberts White Solar Powered DAB Digital Radio UK, NEW Roberts Black Solar Powered DAB Digital Radio UK, Sony ICF-C1IPMK2 Speaker Dock and Clock Radio with iPod Dock (Black), Shower Tap Radio, iHome IH8 Clock Radio for iPod - Black, Sony - CFD-S03 - CD Radio Recorder (CFD-S03CPLS), Wireless Headphones with radio, Sony CDX-DAB6650 - In Car CD player with DAB Radio, Roberts Black Gemini RD-59 Portable DAB FM RDS Radio UK

Mightier Mouse
As a replacement for my Apple Mightly Mouse I think this is wonderful. It was just a case of plugging in the base USB and it worked with no installers out the box. I'm very happy with it. It's comfortable, accurate and not prone to sticking like the Apple Mighty Mouse. If you are fed up cleaning the Mighty Mouse and want a reliable, high quality Mac alternative, then this is it.
