Rice cooker

l found this rice cooker spluttered hot gooey water everywhere with lid on, making a real mess, l now use it with lid off, to stop the spluttering and mess, not satisfactory.

Perfect rice everytime

I am really pleased with this rice cooker. It's very simple to use, basically you measure out how many cups of rice you want ie 1 cup per person, add the equivalent in water switch it on and wait about 10 mins and voila, perfect rice. You can also put your rice on to cook, leave it and then it will switch over to the keep warm function when it is ready so it doesn't burn, so if you need to pop out for an hour or so you can put it on before you leave and it is ready and waiting when you get back. I haven't really had any problems with it overflowing or leaving a starchy mess either...I usually only cook up to about 3 cups worth so maybe the problems occur if you cook larger quantities.

Messy Cooker

We bought this rice cooker after breaking the lid of our Anthony Worrell Thomson rice cooker. We use it to cook long grain brown rice and found it incredibly messy, spitting out from the vent and around the lid, even after rinsing the rice thoroughly beforehand. My advice is not to buy this cooker unless you want to be cleaning up for half an hour afterwards!

Excellent Rice Cooker.

An excellent addition to the Kitchen. Easy to use and clean. A recommendation should you purchase, follow supplied cooking instruction, However, once cooked the longer you leave on the"stay warm" setting the better the texture of the rice (Firmer). Otherwise it can be a little soggy straight after it's initial cooking phase.
You will not be disappointed.

Tefal-Not what I expected

Fortunately, I bought this rice cooker while it was on sale; so I did not waste a lot of money on it. This I bought 8 months ago and must confess I gave it many chances to prove I was wrong, for example, changing water measurements, etc, but to no avail. The first dish I made was Mexican rice, which contained chopped tomatoes. What a BIG mistake it was. the rice came out under cooked and wet( though I followed the booklet's instructions)So I decide to reserve this cooker for making only white rice.
However, The downsides is that it is not designed to cook for two people; as the rice tends to harden a little and become one layer, which ultimately means that I have to make more rice than is needed to eliminate this problem.
Another point is the fact that the lid keeps lifting during cooking because of the bubbles inside; therefore, generating huge amounts of steam in the kitchen.
There is also the magnetic collector which is supposed to be placed under the handle; this seem to have no function what so ever.
All in all, I am pretty disappointed with this gadget, and find that the rice I make in a pot on the hub is way better than this.

LOVE PASTA SO USE ALL THE TIME

I got the pasta cooker as a present. I cook with pasta a lot but often cook different meals for each of the family 4 of us with one vegetarian so the pasta maker frees a hob. The only drawback is it is very big and
does take up as much space as my breadmaker. But the plus points are very good pasta . once it is set up i can forget it and get on with other things. We all enjoy the pasta basket being lowered into the boiling water and then it beeps when cooked and raises the basket to
drain the pasta there is even a recepticle to heat your sauce in as well.
I have not gone back to cooking pasta in a saucepan since i got it.

great little rice cooker

i recently got one of these rice cookers and its just the right size for my family,som e rice cookers tend to be quite big, but this is ideal for the smaller family.
its very easy to use and is a great size for easy storage, cooks the rice pefectly,forget the hassle of checking rice to see if its cooked and scrubbing out rice pans, this goes straight to keep warm once cooked, and the removable makes cleaning easy.

Dissapointing - Faulty Product

I purchased this rice cooker thinking it would enable me to make creamy risotto and fluffy rice. Having gathered together all my ingredents ( in accordance with the recommended recipe book I had also purchased to accompany the rice cooker) and, faithfully following the instructions of both the manuel and the recipe book, I found myself very bewildered with the fact that the"cook" switch wouldn't stay depressed.
Understanding that the cooker works by the weight of the contents of the bowl activating the cooking process I then wasted ages trying to get the cooker to work by trying various weight/water combinations. All to no avail and I just ended up with masses of washing up and cooking my risotto in the old fashioned way on the top of the cooker.
On the plus side the appliance looks quite nice sitting on the worktop, on the downside my experience rather calls in question the quality controls of this manufacturer.
