I should have learned the first time
This pepper mill and its sibling salt mill look great. My son broke - no was using - the first one I owned and I put it down to youthful exuberance. So I bought another and although it has been only me using it under normal operation this one has broken in exactly the same way. You cannot get to the broken part to even start attempting to mend it. There are much better mills on the market. Shame this one looks so nice.PS The salt mill has not suffered the same problem.

Save your fingernails
I just bought this for my mum's birthday and she has been really pleased with it. The mill comes with the nutmegs seen in the picture, which are stored around the centre of the mill. The mechanism is a strong spring tipped with a sharp prong, similar to a pickle fork. You drop one nutmeg at a time down the centre of the mill and the prong holds it against a ridged shaving plate at the base. You end up with flecks of nutmeg rather than a fine powder (similar to cracked peppercorns). The advantages of using a mill compared to a traditional grater are that it saves your fingernails and doesn't require fiddly cleaning. We don't yet know how it copes with the scrappy ends of the nutmeg as it hasn't been in use long enough. Be warned when you open the mill for the first time, that the storage area where the nutmegs sit is spring loaded from the mill spring; our nutmegs flew everywhere!53

It's good but pricey
Had it for 6 months. It is good but lacks volume because of sloping sides & lack of depth. Slightly hard to clean around the rivets inside. Tends to tip over because of the long handle. It is still lovely though but not perfect.The saute pan looks better.

Thus there isn't much of a rim on the base, only a slight depression so that the bottom centre of the colander is not flat on the sink. So if there is any dirty water in the sink, it could easily bounce back and touch the food in the colander.

A bit too big!
I have had this colander for a few months. I love its look but now find it a bit too big. In the end I purchased the smaller one and use it much more often, as I am mostly cooking for 1-2 people. Fell apart...
Having spent many years on a quest to find a pepper mill that works I chanced upon this one... I thought a lifetime guarantee sounded good. Unfortunately, I didn't realise that its lifetime would be less than a week - it fell apart. The inside has come loose so it doesn't grind anything and it is now in the back of the cupboard... I e-mailed the manufacturers to find out about the lifetime guarantee and have heard nothing...
