Review for Family Guy (PSP):
Having purchised and enjoyed all the family
guy games!! I have to say tgis was the best one!!
Better than the ps2 and the Xbox!
The first video game based on the hugely popular Family Guy TV show, the Family Guy game features the same outrageous humour all the fans know and love. Play through three stories that intersect in typical Family Guy fashion. Be Stewie and match wits against his arch-nemesis half-brother Bertram as they vie to take over the world. Take control of Peter and fight to stop Mr. Belvedere who he thinks is trying to take over the world. Slip on a collar and down a martini as Brian and attempt to escape prison and prove your innocence in a puppy parental case gone awry.
This the best game ever!!

Review for Ridge Racer 2 (PSP):
This would have been a 5,
BUT....
If you've ALREADY got Ridge Racer (1) for the PSP, then like me, when you get this, (probably) you can't help but be disappointed.
This is an early review, only had it 2 days, but initial thoughts are ITS THE SAME GAME! the tracks and graphics (so far) are the same, nearly all the music is the same, the voice overs are the same, the menu graphics..the cut scenes, sounds..etc.
I think it has more other extra 'features' (like other game types) than RR1, (i've not compared yet), whilst its a GREAT game, (because RR1 is), it feels like a waste of money for me as when playing as its the same! for a second i had to check i didn't load RR1 by mistake! i wished i'd not impluse bought this.

Review for Silent Hill Origins (PSP):
All characters met by our hero Travis were visited in the original Silent Hill on the PSX, but given no further insight or development into their true motivations or agendas in Origins. The only person our lead truly interacts with is nurse Lisa, if only for some pretty boring excuses for cut scenes to pay us off for all the work we've done so far.
That being said the work is pretty minimal. Most Silent Hills give a choice of hardness's for both puzzles and battles but that's all missing here. And in Origin's case, both are easy mode without doubt.
That's not to say the puzzles weren't enjoyable. Some required me to think and I have to say they were some of the most entertaining I've found in any Silent Hill, yet not near enough of them, becoming detrimental to the overall game play as I continuously walked through countless empty rooms bar a packet of bullets or a health drink, the whole time knowing western programmers Climax could have achieved so much more.
Accept becoming irritating and time wasting it gives me the sense of a missed opportunity for more in the way of monsters, puzzles and tales (the Sanitarium must have been littered with stories).
As stated earlier, Origins certainly looks the part. There's a sever likeness in graphics, character models (friendly or foe) and atmosphere that deeply resembles Silent Hill 2, which makes sense as that's most people's favourite, and for that reason I'd advise all new to Silent Hill start there (available for PC, PS2 and Xbox).
In fact, it's sometimes too much like SH2. The plot, for what there is, doesn't borrow but more repackages the same but simplified and with little drama. What narrative is explained is done cheaply, if at all (and as the Silent Hill series triumphs for storytelling, this is a major drawback for long-time fans).
Which begs the question as to who the target audience is?
I'm guessing, seeing Origins was commissioned right after the moderately successful film (successful enough to have a sequel considered), is targeted at those who've seen the film but possibly never played the games.
This would explain why the story has been dumb down somewhat in order to pick up casual players with the greater emphasis on fighting. Travis has the ability to pull up endless numbers of items (I finished the game with over 20, no less than 5 televisions and 3 toasters in my pocket - literally!).
The controls certainly feel more fluid but still no less frustrating thanks to the awkward camera. Strangely this is more the case when outdoors, as the angles insist on pointing at the front or side of Travis and not at what's chasing for my blood in front.
The only payoff for me is the ability to explore the town once again. After the badly implemented hospital location we're introduced to a good 3 new locations (well, another's used briefly in past games).
If you've not played a Silent Hill then I wouldn't advise this to be the start. Sure Origins has the unique sense of atmosphere and unease, but the staple mark of the series has always been its chilling stories compared to its competitors, and why so many fans were drawn to this rather than Resident Evil, Project Zero, Forbidden Siren or Alone In The Dark.
Travis' tragedy isn't explored enough in Origins. Whether this be because the honour was handed down to a US/ UK programming team with little knowledge rather than the original creators at Konami Japan, or because the game infamously went over budget and over-ambitious is anyone's guess.
Hopefully the up and coming PS2 port amends the problems with more puzzles, deeper cut scenes and better extras.

Review for Silent Hill Origins (PSP):
It looks, it plays, but it doesn't feel-
-like Silent Hill due to an almost non-existent story; a scapegoat of an excuse to create the game period. And a Silent Hill without a decent story is like a car without wheels.

Another great little RPG for the PSP
We Europeans were honoured on Friday with two RPGs released on the same day, now when does that ever happen in the UK? With Tales of Eternia also released on Friday this is the perfect partner to another great game. More traditional in its turn based battles, Breath of Fire III provides a charming RPG experience to the PSP. From what I have played so far, the story seems intriguing enough. You play as a young dragon-boy called Ryu and you escape from being captured by a group of miners and into an adevnture with two other characters Teepo and Rei. If you have got Breath of Fire III already with its PSone release in 1998, don’t bother with this at all. It’s basically the same game (same graphics, same story etc etc) with a just a few extras for the PSP (Game Sharing and a Fishing mode - exciting stuff eh?) I bought this game because of the novelty of actually playing an RPG on the go and I like it! If you like you’re traditional RPGs then between this and Tales of Eternia, Breath of Fire III is for you!93

I've tried several new copies of this game and all have had the same issue. The game crashes the PSP when you try to access its main menu, sounds is sketchy and skips. I would advise anyone to wait a while before purchasing this as it really needs some sort of patch.95

WARNING!: Do try this at home!!
I love Jackass, but was a bit sceptical about this game. However the idea of a bunch of geezers performing stunts that i wouldn't dare do, was too much, and i bought it. Surprisingly, i thought the game was rather good. Its basically a series of mini-games, and is quite addictive. The game is ideal for the PSP, due to its pick and play gameplay. If you want a game that taxes your mind, then best get something like 'Tomb Raider', however if you want a fun little game, that you can play for around ten minutes on your PSP get 'Jackasss- The Game'.96

What are you waiting for?
This is a great game! Season after season of action packed fun. Control your favourite team in manager mode where you can create your dream squad and buy your favourite players with a premiership club. Or you could do what I did and choose a lower down team and take them to the top. There are also a couple of great mini games and the opporunity to watch unlockable interviews, and 2006 season highlights. The only downpoint is the commentry. For example I had a corner and five minutes later scored to which the commentator said, 'It's a corner, I wonder what they can make of it here.' Otherwise the actual football gameplay is great. MUST GET GAME!98

Review for FIFA 09 (PSP):
The online of this game is as great as ever, and there will always be opponents at the waiting. The loading time online is very fast, and has little lag, if you could even notice it ! Players can now organise matches in advance and play in an overall online league. Fifa 09 also continues to use the interactive leagues so users can play and score points for their clubs.
All in all i believe Fifa 09 is the best game produced for the PSP so far, and im looking forward for the public release.

Best Football Game For PSP
Once again Fifa has lived up to its expectations and proved it is one of the best games for the PSP. The graphics are much the same as fifa 08, although they are a little sharper which is great. The music tracks are once again updated to whats in the charts which gives this game a good advantage over many others. Fifa 09 has all the usuals from a football game, tournaments and leagues from all around the world. New teams and leagues have been added since the 08 version. A new feature is the 'Be A Pro' which proved to work well in other consoles lik the PS3 and XBOX 360. this feature allows the user to control one player and one only as they compete in competitons. The online of this game is as great as ever, and there will always be opponents at the waiting. Fun at first, but...
I am a big Sims fan. When I first played on the Sims 2 on PSP, my initial reaction was that it had good graphics, the create a sim mode was decent enough and it had an interesting storyline. However, as I gradually played through the game, I was losing interest in the game. Why?Firstly, the loading times are absolutely terrible! It can take anything up to 30 seconds for your Sim to take any action! And when talking to a Sim (it's like a minigame - you have to press the right buttons in order to sucessfully advance a friendship level with that Sim) the loading times can get annoying and may cost you points and therefore fail in advancing friendship level.
Another problem with this game is the buy mode. It's not the content I'm criticising. As you can save your game on the PSP memory stick, I was assuming that I was able to place as many items as possible and that when I bought more items to put in the Sim's house, it would just simply take up more of the memory. But no. There is a limit to what you can put in your house. It's a big house as well and the limit makes your house look empty. The game makers might as well not have bothered putting in some of those rooms!
So to sum up, it could've been a great game if it wasn't for the long loading times.
