Just like Ben's

My son has had his omnitrix for 6 months now, and it has had almost daily use. It is still in excellent condition. It is very like the omnitrix in the series, and has encouraged a lot of imaginative play between him and his friends. Although pricey it is well made, and he has certainly got the value from it.

endless hours of amusement....

the picture is misleading,it looks kinda fake in"real life". and in the picture the notebook doesn't look like that at all.The notebook has a red cover, and is blue on the inside. However it is a good buy, the black bit on the bottom can either be a black pen or a UV pen for writing on the notepad, so writing is only visible when Sonic is shined on it.But the box is rather big. Overall though, it's great!

Top Notch

One of the best board games (if we can call it that- it's more of a funky jig-saw puzzle!) that you can find. Tactical and played out completely differently every single time, Carcassonne is definately worth the cash - as are the add-ons for this great game!

Bargain Tardis playset

For £12.99 this is a bargain! I agree that it can be a bit flimsy in it's construction but at such a cheap price and the smiles it generated on Christmas morning i'm more than happy!

"I need a weapon"

So the master chief, we all know he's the best but is the figure, it looks brilliant and playing around with it you get some amazing poses which you can really show off there isn't a lot of articulation but thats fine because why do you need a figure that can put his leg behind his head?

yet there are negatives first it's smaller than it looks on the internet the master chief only stands 5" but I can sacrifice that for the great paint job.
But the biggest problem I have is that he doesn't come with his trusty grenade even though it says he will come with one (yeah I know the cheek)and that annoys me the product even says he will have one but he doesn't, could you see the master chief running into battle without being able to blow the flood and the covenant to ash, and a word of abvice the black peg you get this fits into the back of the chief (the chuncky side goes into the hole) and his assult rifle fits onto his back.

Overall all I think this product is great it looks well WOW and I would recomend the master chief to anyone who likes Halo but mind this figure is a bit fragile so don't let young children play with any of the Halo figures but it's an awsome figure for a collector or for some one who wants to shoot some aliens.

New set, same game

We were introduced to Settlers of Catan by a friend, and have played on his board on many occasions. Having bought the new edition, I can now say that the new design is very nice. It took a couple of games to get used to what was what but my wife and I now play happily.

The pieces are still good quality wooden affairs, the tiles themselves are just as wellmade as before (now backed with sea rather than plain). Regarding the frame, ours is a anug fit, but I put that down to it being new. We haven't needed to make any alterations as the above commenter has, so his may be an unfortunate batch.

The overall look is very nice, the gameplay is as before, and I thoroughly recommend it.

this toy is very good it comes with two slider discs and you can get more with the toys and it has a removeabile strap if its too small it fits me on the last hole it fits 5 discs(and you can see the discs in the watch unlsss you have it up side down or something stupid like that)

The Master Reborn! In plastic!

A nice idea for a giftset, but I'd save your money if I were you. Unlike the rest of Character Options Doctor Who figures, the Yana and Master figures are very cheap looking. The plastic used for the heads and hands is poor, giving the figures a jaundiced and slightly opaque look. The attention to detail on the Yana/ Master figures is also quite poor.A thin strip of paint is all that represents the fob watch chain, and there's no pocket detail on the figures' waistcoats.There has also clearly been some trouble getting the actors' permission to use their likenesses,as Yana in particular looks more like Patrick Troughton than Derek Jacobi!This wouldn't be such a problem,but packed in with the superior Doctor and Martha figures, the differences are more pronounced.Another niggle would be creating yet another set with the Tenth Doctor, as I'm sure most children and collectors will have at least two Tenth Doctor figures already.There's no sonic or laser screwdrivers included either, which is a disappointment.I do hope this doesn't represent a shift in Characters' production standards - after years of substandard Dapol figures, its been great to have some real care put into the toyline.I'll put this down to being a rush release for the Christmas market, but come on boys - this is the Doctor's nemesis! He deserves better than this!Perhaps a regeneration 2 pack as was done with the Ninth Doctor, or a Paradox Machine playset..?

"It's called a TARDIS."

At last, a version of the iconic TARDIS to scale with the current releases of the 5 inch figures.
An absolute must have for any collector or kid to play with, this great reproduction of The Doctor's ship is packed with features that will delight young and old alike.
Both doors on the front open and there is even the telephone inside the left door. They can be locked open and reveal the TARDIS interior. There's just enough room inside to fit figures of The Doctor and his Companion.
The best feature of this TARDIS though are the lights and sound effects built in. The Police Public Call Box signs on each side all light up and the glowing lantern on the top flashes appropriately, depending on what the TARDIS is doing at the time.
There are 8 sound effects in total.
When you open the doors the interior lights up and you get the sound of the TARDIS humming away.
There is a pressure lever in the base that registers if it's landed or flying and will make appropriate sounds when necessary. There's slow take off, take off and emergency launch, landing and emergency landing.
There's a spin button on the base and by placing your finger on it and spinning the TARDIS from the light on top it makes the flight sound which is rather cool.
The final sound is a bit tricky to coax out of the toy. If you shake it once (and only once!) in flight you get a flight disruption noise, but it's quite difficult to get the sensor inside to register this one.
All in all, a great fun toy for kids and adults and no Doctor Who collection would be complete without this toy.

I wouldn't keep MY memories in it, it would break!

From about five feet away the watch looks quite good, the detailing on the front is well moulded and it generally looks quite real and solid, indeed from five feet the watch looks as it does in the photograph above; don't be fooled this is the best it will ever look.

When you get close enough to actually touch it and pick it up, the cheap slightly shiny grey plastic creaks in your hand, belying the flimsy construction.

The front of the watch is opened with a difficult to reach, loose fitting plastic stud on the top of the adjustment dial, which itself is moulded into the main body and does nothing, revealing the face of the watch, which conspires to be shadowy and difficult to read. The door itself is thin and the hinge worryingly flimsy to the extent that it feels as if the force of the spring could break it off on opening.

By far the worst thing about this watch however it the"light and sound effects", which feature a few red and yellow flashing LEDs, and a minute or so long clip from the second episode of 'Human Nature' with the young lad saying something along the lines of"..Some times I remember having two hearts and being a Time Lord, not only that but the last of the Time Lords..." and so on. Not only is this a fantastically annoying sound for the watch to make, but it is the sort of thing which seriously hampers the creation of a childhood fantasy world when your toys start whittering on at you; I know this I remember it happening.

In short AVOID! Wait for someone to bring a better, metal version out.

Breaks when you breathe on it!

I admit my sons have had fun with these; but only until one broke, less than six hours into Christmas day. Amazon were fantastic in response, sending out a replacement next working day (over Christmas!) :) but sadly this also broke, within 20 mins of opening. Painful scenes with 8 year old in tears :( Have now received notification from Amazon that we are not the only ones with a problem & are going for a refund (still have devastated 8 year old - he was so careful with the second one, yet still it broke) I don't recommend this - the sonic is much more durable, plus has UV light AND a pen/invisible writer!

Lego kick off their 2008 Star Wars series with a set from the Expanded Universe range with kit #7668: Rebel Scout Speeder.
After the success of last years Clone Trooper and Battle Droid battle packs it's nice to see Lego continuing with more troop building box sets.
The Scout Speeder is a small surface skimming craft with a long open bay which seats three figures and has a large gun turret with swivelling cannon at the rear. One trooper sits atop the turret which itself can detach from the Speeder and be used as a free standing gun emplacement. There are clips along the side for weapon storage.
The best thing about this kit is the new figures in the form of 4 Rebel Fleet Troopers. Finally available, I can see people buying lots of these packs to have an army to rival the numerous Stormtroopers released so far. Two blaster rifles and 2 heavy assault rifles finish the set.
The kit is composed of 57 pieces, not including the figures and weapons and measures 16.5 cm long, 6.5cm wide and 5.5cm high including aft gun turret.
It takes about 5 minutes to build, there are 3 decals to apply and it's ready to go. A nice little kit and definitely one for all those army builders out there.

"Scan the planet Artoo - we're going in!"

Lego kick off their 2008 Star Wars series with their first ever set from the new Clone Wars CGI animated series with kit #7669: Anakin's Jedi Starfighter.
The yellow enhanced Delta-7 starfighter is based loosely around the frame of 2002's Jedi Starfighter with a slightly larger hull and more detailing. It features moveable wings, positionable landing gear, 2 forward mounted blue flick missiles, removable cockpit and best of all, a neat little ejection mechanism for R2.
There is a connected lever that runs from the aft through the hull and when you push it in, a small bolt pushes up and ejects R2 upwards. The new flick missiles are much better than previous issues with a new piece design that stay clipped in the frame until you apply pressure the thin tail at the back of it.
You get two figures with the kit, R2-D2 and a new version of Anakin Skywalker. Unlike previous issues, this figure has more detailing on the facial feature making it look much better than the standard ones. Anakin's trademark blue lightsabre finishes the set.
The kit is composed of 142 pieces, not including the figures, missiles and weapons and measures 26cm long, 14cm wide and 8cm high - without landing gear deployed.
It takes about 15 minutes to build, there are 6 decals to apply and it's ready to go. A very nice starfighter and hopefully the first in a new wave for Star Wars Lego.

The kit is composed of 60 pieces, not including the figures and weapons and measures 11cm long, 6cm wide and 7.5cm high at rear.
It takes about 5 minutes to build, there are 3 decals to apply and it's ready to go. A nice little kit and definitely one for all those army builders out there.
