Great value, works even in my HDV cam

I have used numerous brands of miniDV tapes over the years and have been sticking to these Sony ones for at least the last 2 years, firstly because these are great value, secondly I have not had any problems so far.

I actually upgraded from an ordinary Panasonic DV cam to the all new Canon HV20 Hi Def cam this year and still use these tapes in the new cam to record Hi-def footage! Yes, you can buy specialist HDV tapes, but they cost more. These normal Mini-DV tapes work just fine recording HDV footage. Obviously I can also record normal DV footage onto these tapes as well.

I am no expert in HD recording, I have no idea what advantage of using proper HDV tape is, surely there must be some reason. But for my casual use, I am happy to just still with these ordinary mini DV tapes. I may try the proper HDV tapes when I have an important event though.

All in all, I have no reason to switch to a different tape yet.

Excellent value for money and excellent tapes

I would never buy any other tapes to go with my sony camcorder these are very good, and i would never go anywhere else to buy them apart from amazon as they are so affordable compared to high street stores, don't let them rip u off buy them from amazon!

Good deal just watch out for postage

Excellent service from KK Electronics good comms and speedy dispatch. However, like another reviewer I was knocked out by the postage charges and cancelled my order for 6 tapes as each tape seemed to attract its pown postage charge. I replaced it with an order for a five pack which you can find with a little searching and this incurs only one postage charge.

Expensive Packaging

Be careful if you order this, the headline price is only brought down to reality when you finally get to the"place your order" page and find they want 4.50 for delivery to a standard UK mainland address.
For an item this small this is very high, it is cheaper to pick one up from a shop next time you are out and about.

Very good quality

Just used these tapes for recording mostly indoors.Have been using Sony tapes prior to this.However I can vouch that these tapes have a comparable/or even better recording quality.The recording quality is uniform,which is not something I have seen in the Sony tapes.

this product is easy to use and is compatable with most digital camcorders. the sound and picture quality are exceptional.
i own a dcr trv240e by sony and i found it was extremely easy to load into the camera.
the tapes fit easily into your pocket with little bulge which make them efficient and functional.

Almost half price compared to high street. Also, Discountdiscs were very responsive in solving problems with the delivery.

DO NOT BUY!

Despite the extremely cheap price which you are currently thinking is a bargain for a cleaning tape BAYEOMANSELECTRICAL add a £9.99 delivery charge on for UK mainland even though they claim their delivery will only be £4.99. Plus mine still hasn't come after 8 days when they said it would only be 3-5 days. Pay more for the tape and less for the delivery from a different seller.
