Fantastic fun for younger children too

My 5 year old was given this as a present and he loves it. He very quickly worked out that you need to have a complete circuit and he happily makes different circuits to do different things. With a bit of explanation he understands what is going on so can trouble shoot on his own. It is so easy to pop together that there is no reason why younger children cannot benefit - particularly with a bit of adult help.

I Love it!

This is a must have toy for anyone who likes thier toys, i bought it for my 4 year old for his birhtday, thinking he wouldnt be able to use it and"daddy" would have to show him how it worked, but he has mastered the speed control straight away and he isnt to bad with the direction controls, i struggle with direction, but it is very easy to keep it flying in a normal sized room until it starts to run out of power(7-10 mins). once it looses most of its charge it struggles to gain height so is ideal for a novice to take over and start playing around with it, as it wont gain enough height to smash into the ceiling.
Talking of crashing, this happens alot at first and it has held up very well to the numerous ceiling.walls,xmas tree, tinsel, and vertical blind crashes....
I am not sure why this model is dearer than the others, i bought it as i was told it had better stability? i cant confrim this as i havent seen any other in action. but it takes off from any surface and easily takes off from your hand whilst holding the nose section. or just sat on it.

Zounds pounds the sounds

Amazing. I bought this for my 6 year old daughter as a birthday present after seeing reviews on various websites & in the Telegraph newspaper. We weren't disappointed. Everyone who sees it can't stop playing with it. You just place one of the unusual pieces on one of the 3 hot spots on the Zounds base & sounds flow from the built in speaker. Each piece plays a different rhythm depending where its placed. The pieces all have different styles ranging from keyboards, percussion, cosmic etc so you can create hundreds of different tunes. The cube can also be programmed with up to 5 seconds of custom recording. You can also plug it into an MP3 or Ipod to give you speakers & light show or even use it as an alarm clock which wakes you with you best composed tunes.
Buy it, you will be amazed.

shock ball

This ball is so much fun. The shock you get depends on where it touches you. It's very durable, i've dropped it lots and it's still working. You can play so many games with it like, hot potato and you can put the ball on different parts of your body. It's well worth £15, it makes you laugh. I expected it to be bigger but when you play with it you can see why they have made it smaller.

Best robot ever!

I got this for Christmas in 2005 and have really enjoyed it since.
I like where it's sensors are located and I also enjoy the features, as some of the things it does are really amazing. The people I know seem to get bored of it quickly- but that's just because they are boring people!
He has fallen over quite a few times, but doesn't even have a single scratch.
This is the best robot ever!

Clearly this is NOT a toy so the 'fun' etc. ratings above should be ignored. Little Johnny should be kept well away from the machine!

Ice machines, even table-top versions such as this, are a lot heavier that you would expect.

The ice-making capabilities of this model are very good. Once it starts churning out the bullet-shaped ice there is no stopping it until the water runs out. When this happens a (too) loud beep warns of the fact - shame there is no way to reduce the volume of this.

The downsides include the weight of the machine - you will not want to move it more than once without assistance (after all, it is a mini fridge) so ensure you have the space to accommodate it. Secondly, the machine's footprint is larger than you may envisage (though typical for its type), so measure up your allocated space first.

fabulous game

Bought this game for my nine year old for xmas no idea what it was like but drawn in by the fact it can be played solo or up to 8 players.
Tried it out fabulous! It was such good fun dashing about trying to match the colours/numbers that it calls out. We played all the different modes and they all worked well. We particularly enjoyed the team dash where you have to pass the plunger piece like a relay. The game says for 6 and up however the level one and two were played easily with our teams which included a 4 and 5 yr old.Great activity looking foward to using it with our friends at the next gathering. Would easily transfer from small table to large garden. Superb!

over price seriously flawed

the paint on the back and teeth rubs off in next to no time, the battery is rubbish. This is a VERY over priced toy, that could have been so much more. Very disapointed

Best Leapster Game So Far!

Excellent game - may appeal more to girls than boys. The only thing to have ever held my 4 year old daughters attention for more than 15 minutes! Teaches pet care as well as letters, numbers, short words, pen control,spellings and memory. Earn points and money, go shopping,dress your dog in fancy dress, give food and water, bathtime, teach tricks, compete in a dog show,take it on walks etc,. Not just educational but great fun too. Fantastic !!!

My son is happy with this product.

The cards are repeated too often as someone else points out - that was the only disappointment for my son.

Worth Every Penney!

so far theses are the best headset i have ever owned.
the sound quality is top rate (throw the inbuilt volume can be a bit temperamental)
the microphone gives good sharp sound recording
the ear pieces are well built and lite on the ear's
so for the money these are a good buy.

I just got this mouse today from another site, damn I overpaid.

Anyway I'm not sure if I like it yet. My primary reason for buying it was the 2 nice thumb buttons on the side. Like the previous reviewer I wanted to use them in games like COD 4 for ducking and grenade toss. The trouble is the mouse is long and my thumb dosen't naturally sit on the buttons, I can adjust my hand slightly and may find that I do so over time anyway, but if the mouse was 5-10 mil shorter it would be better for me. If you have small hands you may want to stay away or find somewhere or someone who can let you try the mouse out of the box.

The variable DPI is also strange. You get 3 settings you can choose at a click of one of the top buttons and you can choose what DPI they are set at with the software. The thing is there are 6 presets ranging from 200 to 2000 but the spacing isn't even. You get 200, 400, 800, 1000, 1600, 2000. I would have like either truely variable or something in the 1000 to 1600 range.

This isn't to give the mouse a bad review, Microsoft generally make nice good quality hardware and this is both. It's just that a mouse can be a personal taste thing and when you're paying over £30 you don't want to waste your cash.

Oh and Amazon does appear to have the best UK price I've seen, damn Google for pointing me elsewhere.
