Wow what a brilliant toy!

I have never written a review but had to for this item. I bought it based on the previous reviews for my daughter who is 2 and a half and she plays with it constantly. there are lots of different activities and although at times she struggles with the pens - with parental help she is solving lots of the puzzles and keeps coming back to it to play some more. we have not attached it yet to a computer but even on its own it is fab and so portable that it will be our number one toy for holidays. we also got the dora add on pack which again is brilliant although the puzzles are slighly harder than the standard pack. brilliant item love it!

Has no one ever seen Godzilla?!

The reviewers here are totally wrong; so says my 9 year old son who got a roboraptor yesterday. He has played with it ever since, and as for not encouraging imaginative play it is currently standing on top of a garage having eaten a polly pocket doll and a car! My son wants to make a Godzilla movie with Roboraptor as the star. I think this toy is only limited by your imagination!

The raptor does move better on carpet rather than wooden floor, and can be fussy about carpet which is to thick. It also needs very good batteries as another reviewer has said already.

As for not doing what was expected, I think it does everything we expected and we have got it to hold things in it's mouth. It has walked around the room and detected obstacles quite well.

My son described this as his dream present.

Educational and Fun!

We have only tried 5 experiments and had lots of fun and learnt lots too. The experiments are easy to follow and the illustrations are clear, with plenty of testing and discussion opportunity. The components are well made and robust. Before we purchased this set we had a look in the shops and most electronics kits were flimsy and only had 10 experiments. This set definitely represents value for money and my kids aged 6 & 10 are really keen to use it at any opportunity. They were both really surprised when they tested 'foil' in a circuit and it conducted electricity and also were impressed by a 'reed switch' activated by a magnet. So lots of 'WOW' moments.

Not into card games, well these cards offer an added incentive to world of warcraft online gamers. The card game itself is a fun system not too challenging but with many strategies, and in the future, expansion packs to increase enjoyment.
These card games can be taxing mentally and would challenge any child in problem solving skills, reading and logic.

As with most card games the cards are printed on reasonably strong card.

Overall this card game is great to play or just collect, the artwork on them is impressive.

So overall a great buy for any WoW lover.

Learning station

I got this for my two year old Nephew for Christmas. For the price it is a great toy, as it is possible to learn new words, reinforce colour and shape concepts as well as become familliar with letters and time concepts. Placing the animals in tells their name or a fact about them and when removed their sound is made which is good fun and allows children to practice animal sounds. There are know moving parts on the animals which means that they are less fun to play with. The train is a bit of a disappointment with only the engine and know carriages,, it would be nice if the train could have recognized the animals, but playing the alphabet song when the train is pushed over the track is fun. I would prefer it if this toy concentrated on the a b c letter sounds rather then A B C, however, it does do both just prioritises letter names rather then sounds. For the price a reat educational toy.

Great toy if you use your imagination

OK, I was sceptical buying this as I read the reviews before hand - and to be fair they are all relatively accurate.

Camera itself is well built as I'd expect from Fisher Price. The buttons are nicely placed and easy to use. The viewing screen is very poor, but it does the job. Its hard to see images on playback when the flash has operated as everything tends to turn 'white' if taken too close. The camera makes nice little noises and does everything it needs to for a child. The 2 eyed view is also decent enough to use. I havent bothered with a SD card as you can easily delete pictures and clear the memory very easily. No issues with camera battery use either.

I bought a blue one (£15 less than the same pink version) for my little girl (my son is following behind and hes not into pink it would seem LOL!) for £45 which does seem alot of money for a childs camera, however if I buy a cheap better picture quality camera I dont think it would last the pace so readily.

At the end of the day its a toy pretending to be a camera, but when you put it in the hands of a child its a great to see them taking pictures of the ceiling, their feet, chopping heads of etc. - I'm sure they wont win any awards with the pictures they take, but its more of learning experience as you can show them how to use it properly, how to download onto the PC, manipulate their pics, make things with what they take i.e. its about we as adults also using our imagination to make the toy the best it can be.

I think its been a great buy for a whole learning process, not as someone earlier mentioned to produce results ala David Bailey from a 3 yr old. I'm 37 and still cant do that LOL!!

I have an Olympus 510 which is low end dSLR, so I do appreciate what photography is about. A child should have fun with this camera, but only you can make it 'really fun' for them to use.

Excellent toy

My baby daughter received this for her 1st birthday last year and loves playing with it. When it went wrong after several months use we were able to post it (via a FREEPOST address) to Leapfrog who returned it to us serviced and fixed at no extra cost within a week!!!. Callalily(above) should contact Leapfrog direct as they are very helpful and actually know the meaning of customer service. Highly recommended product and company.

Good for the beginners

Well the deck isnt all that good, it doesnt even contain that many elemntal heros, but it can be improved with boosters, the main card isnt all that good either elemental blade edge. He cant fuse to make any better monster and he isnt really that powerful, his effect is ok. Though it does contain some ok lv4 monsters like luster dragon and elemntal hero clayman. Luster has the high attack 1900 which is good for a lv4 monster and clayman has good defense 2000. so its has its ups.
If your starting duelling and want to start with a deck i reccomend machine revolt or dinosaurs rage. Dinosaurs rage offers great offense and defense and the ability to get high attack monsters on the field. And also a few tricks for late in game.
Machine Revolt consists of tactics and effects, only for expert userz, though once you learn how to use it, its a dream and can be even more improved with boosters.

Best game yet!

I just bought this game for my 5 year old daughter, however she could not even get to play it as her 7 year old brother was playing it constantly!! We are big fan's of leapster and have in total 9 different games in the family. This one though has been the biggest hit yet. There are various different puzzles to work though and every time you get it right you move to the next level. It is a good thought and memory provoking game as you have to consider how to build the bridge to get the little creature to the other side. Another game is to remember how the monster looks and then the monster is broken up and you have to put him back together.

If you only buy one leapster game BUY THIS ONE! It is by far the most popular in our family!!!
