Great fun for a rainy Saturday.

In this game, players start in one of the board's four different sections. Throughout the game players get degrees and PhDs, buy cars, buy houses, get married, have children, and even play the lottery!. The electronid Lifepod is handy as it does all the maths for you. The aim of the game is to collect the most cash and life points. One of the game's best features is that the players can choose approximately how long the game will last. An excellent game for children, teenagers, and adults.

You get what you pay for

As a regular late night card player I decided it was high time to purchase a card shuffler, this particular model was the first one I happened across and so this is what I got. Basically it does the job reasonably well but nothing more, the unit is plastic, it's very loud when in action which we found irritating particularly late at night and only seems to shuffle well about 80% of the time - the cards either get stuck at the wrong angle in the middle, aren't pulled in by the rubber wheel or not evenly pulled from both sides. I guess you get what you pay for; my advice would be to spend more money and look at other products (if you can find them).

Just my style

I had actually played this version at a friends house and bought it because playing the original version was just a little too hard. The original version drags out for a long time if the questions are not great. This family version is ideal for a more relaxed game. We play it by going round the board answering the kids questions (cos they are not exactly for kids) and for a piece of pie we used the adult questions. Much better, and more fun. Feels much more satisfying when you get around the board answering questions than just dodging them all the time.

But for a famliy version, the questions were fairly hard for the kids, in that respect, it was not great. More for adults who weren't born to attend the NASA programme.

Game with great educational value.You don't need to have an MA in Fine Arts from Oxford to excel in this game. All you need is some creativity, and reorientation of your brain cells from the word to image form.A picture conveys a thousand words;Pictionary has more than one thousands ways to convey the same word; Enough said; ditto !

Compulsive Christmas fun!

Have just bought this game and we are already hooked. It's great fun trying to unscramble the phrases, with the time allowance (or guess allowance) going down each time. You can vary the skill level so that younger members of the family can play too. Educationally, it's a great toy for exercising memory and sequencing skills and I would use this with my students at college for a bit of light-hearted fun.

Still a favourite after a year

Others have described this game well. I would simply add that we have played this with both family and friends and it has proved a reliable hit that people have been keen to replay, and in at least one case, buy for themselves. We got it last Xmas and it is still probably our favourite game.
One good feature (among many) is that although you know how you are doing in terms of your objective, you cannot be sure exactly how the other players are faring. So you don't know until the final scoring who has won, which keeps interest going for all players throughout the game.
The game has got a good quality feel to it and is satisfying and enjoyable to play.

And you thought Settlers was good.......

If you've got the"standard" Settlers of Catan game and are getting quite good- this is one to throw a spanner in the works. Its probably about twice as complicated as the original (although you do pick it up quicker as you know the basics already) and also lasts longer. However along with that goes the increased challenge and its therefore just as much fun - if not more so. You now have to persuade the rest of the players to work more closely with you, in order to defeat the barbarian ship, but also have more tools and opportunities to hold your fellow players back by stealing their cards, their knights and generally making life difficult for them. Highly recommended if you've begun to get a bit bored of the standard game but don't forget you need the original as well as this is only an expansion.

Buck - a - roo!

We initially could not get our mule to buck, but found that we were being too gentle when putting the blanket in place and the saddle. A bit of brute force was all we needed! Now our mule bucks at each of the levels and is fun for all.
As a child I used to visit family friends who had Buckaroo; we did not have it at home and I loved it, now my two sons are getting the toys I always wanted!

i know the game says from 6+ but we have been playing as adalts and nerver have we had so much fun. if you dont like growing up and are with like minded people this is a must.

Haven't had so much fun playing a board game for a long time!

We bought this version and yes it is a bit pricey - but well worth it! Monopoly and Cluedo can become a bit tiresome after 20 odd years of playing it each Christmas ... but we will definitely be playing this game at Christmas! You can have up to 3 teams of however many you like in each team and decide on team rules before you play the game. It's a real race to create a playdough model before the other team guesses what their model is! Some of the things you have to create are very bizarre ... cards like 'gravel' and 'atom bomb' came up - very testing! However this game kept us entertained for nearly 5 hours! No alcohol required to make this game fun ... its pure simple genious!

My kids love this game.

I bought this game at Christmas and we have played it as a family three times now. The first time involved a lot of looking at the rules but we completed it after 2 hours. Subsequent games have taken just over an hour.
I recommend the game because everyone is involved from the start to the end. No-one has to drop out at any point in the game. True it can cause your nearest and dearest to 'nobble you' and my youngest can get quite upset when he falls at the last. I prefer this game to Monopoly which goes on too long and can end up being played between only 2 players.

Real fun!

My little boy was given this game for his birthday and the whole family has had so much fun with it - up to six people can play at any one time. It improves hand-eye coordination and there's a good 'add one' memory game.

Fluxx

This is an extremely playable card game. The different types of card and the ever-changing rules make it as fun as it is. Added to the ability for players to start and stop playing when they like and the general pointlessness and randomness of it, it is a great all round game, which you can play in any time slot available.

Rummikub Word variations

As avid players of number Rummikub we discovered the Word version. While waiting to acquire a Word Rummikub game we used the letters from a Scrabble set which led us to score using the Scrabble value for each letter. Thus the highest scoring word is not neeccessarily the longest. We have found this more fun. I have written the value of the letter on the bottom of the tiles in indelible pen.
We have played with a theme where every word has to relate to the chosen theme. This is harder than it would seem. Try it, it's totally adictive. Make up your own variations.

A Great Game About Navel Combat

Like other board games of the same era, Battleships has become an all time classic, especially for children. I have been trying to figure out why these few games have become so popular, and i now believe that it is because each time you play the game, it always ends up differently, and this is where the fun of this game lies.

The object of the game is basically to sink your enemies entire fleet of ships using your own carefully planned stragedy. The neat little consoles add a touch of realism to the game as well and it also allows you to track the movement of your enemy.

An extreamly durable game and after a few go's it wil leave you wondering where the hell all the time has gone to. Buy it now and i promise you will never tire of playing it.
