Used Price: £5.00
New Price: £7.75

Review for Jumbo Puzzle Wasgij Antiques Hunt:
Addictive
Being a committed Wasgij fan I looked forward to the arrival of my latest challenge. I wasn't disappointed.
The jigsaw is packed full of little cameos in true Wasjig style.

Excellent fun - it only took the two of us three days to complete as we were up half the night most nights.

Card Game - Killer Bunnies and the Quest for the Magic Carrot

Used Price: £7.99
New Price: £14.93

Review for Card Game - Killer Bunnies and the Quest for the Magic Carrot:
The funniest card game i've played in a long time!
It's a little about STRATEGY, a little about ALLIANCES, a lot about LUCK, and then ... 'PAY-BACK' TIME!

I recently bought it myself after playing at a friends house this summer! Initially it was a bit tricky learning the rules and game cards, but once I'd played a few rounds I soon understood!

It gets more addictive as you increase your game knowledge! (And ofcourse, there are several extention packs with new cards!)

The only draw-back is, you always need a good hour or so, and a small crowd to play :)

It's the most FUN when played with more than 4 (adults) - especially if some of them are family members, or your partner - when you can really put your 'game face' on!

Trivial Pursuit Genus

Our Price: £29.96 & this item Delivered FREE in the UK with Super Saver Delivery. See details & conditions
Used Price: £11.99
New Price: £28.98

Review for Trivial Pursuit Genus:
Trivial in name...
For the first time, Trivial Pursuit lives up to its title. The question compilers had clearly decided early on that the appropriate reference source for this edition was Heat Magazine. Thus, Arnold Swartzenegger becoming the first owner of a commercial HumVee is considered a Science and Nature Question. Even interesting points, such as Mozart composing Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star, are based on inaccurate and disproven rumour. Having just spent a week playing the original version in the Highlands, it was a huge disappointment to play this version. Every player should not be able to put together runs of six of seven correct anwers in TP! Please re-release the original!

Fantasy Flight Board Game - Arkham Horror: Kingsport Horror

New Price: £24.75

Review for Fantasy Flight Board Game - Arkham Horror: Kingsport Horror:
Diminishing returns
Visit scenic Kingsport, the fourth expansion for Arkham Horror! Although of course this is only the second box to add a new area of the board, and unfortunately Kingsport isn't as interesting as Dunwich. Although it adds several new game mechanics and plenty of new cards, the struggle against the Kingsport Rifts just isn't as compelling as the fight against the Dunwich Horror, and is sort of like the Arkham Horror equivalent of 'doing your chores'.

For Arkham Horror veterans, here's now it basically works: the Rift Tracks on the Kingsport accumulate tokens; when the tracks fill up, a Rift starts drifting around the board, spitting out monsters. The investigators then have to leg it around Kingsport having encounters at various places in order to seal the rift. When a rift is sealed, it goes back to where it started and starts accumulating tokens again. There's no very strong sense of accomplishment, unlike beating that disgusting Dunwhich thingy. Gates don't open in Kingsport - a big mistake in my view - so it's a bit of a dull area of the board and feels quite 'cut off' from Arkham. Getting to the special locations on the cliffs is frustrating rather than challenging, and there's not much reason to hang around in Kingsport having encounters because the encounters are pretty much the same sort of random mad stuff that goes on in Arkham itself.

Of course this is still a pretty good expansion because it adds stacks of additional content for the original game (items, characters, spells etc), and that's all well worth shuffling in. The Guardian/Herald cards are a great idea because they allow the players to fine-tune the difficulty of just about any game. The four new Great Old Ones - Eihort, Y'Golonac, Atlach-Nacha and Ybb-Tstll (or something like that) - are all solid enough additions to the pantheon and are a real challenge to defeat. Like the original AH GOOs they make you take skill tests to avoid being hurt by them, which was an element which was notably absent from the Dunwich lot. Plus, the art on the Kingsport GOO cards makes me feel physically ill, so they've pretty much captured the essence of the Mythos there, at least.

My suggestion is: use every card in the box, but ignore the Kingsport board itself and all that rift nonsense. Or come up with some house rule that allows gates to open in Kingsport, just to keep everyone on their toes.

Wooden Card Shuffler - 2 deck

New Price: £12.40

Review for Wooden Card Shuffler - 2 deck:
Good gadget.
Works well.

The cards can occasionaly jam but are easily cleared.

This object beats having to shuffle two combuned decks of cards. Probably less impressive when shuffling one deck as even my ’ham fists’ can manage that quickly.

Certainly very good if you are unable to shuffle for whatever reason. Good fun too for those late nights round the table with your mates.

Runebound 2nd Edition

Our Price: £29.97 & this item Delivered FREE in the UK with Super Saver Delivery. See details & conditions
New Price: £24.96

Review for Runebound 2nd Edition:
A fun game
A good game featuring various fantasy elements and a simple game system for players from thirteen to child-like adults. Players get characters which move about the countryside fighting nasties and building up to confronting powerful dragon lords. Interesting movement system. Be aware that there are all sorts of supplements available. Make sure you get the second edition of the game - the first edition contains a twenty-sided die (as opposed to two ten-sided ones in the first edition) and slightly different cards and mechanics. It is not easily compatible with the supplements.

Talisman

New Price: £34.00

Review for Talisman:
A great version of the classic fantasty board game
I played the second edition about 15 years ago and loved it, then bought a copy of the third edition with dungeon expansion and have played this game with my son (who is now 16) and with my daugther (10) for many years, but I found the ending a little bit of a let down (It was all geared up for the tower expansion, very rare!). This fourth edition is a combination of the best elements of the secound and third edition, with a great ending, as all players fight until only one player is left alive. It has superb artwork, on a very big board, bigger than any of the others. We have just found out that the expansions from the third edition can be used, although not perfectly but still brings a bit more magic to the game for those who seek it. Hopefully, the makers of the game will bring out some expansions (I have heard this may not happen). This is a fantastic version of the classic game Talisman. WE LOVE IT!
