More awesome Lego!

I found this set in a local toyshop on my birthday and snapped it up. It's part of a recent range that's been brought out (presumably to coincide with the 4th Indiana Jones movie). The set is typical Lego; fun, durable and easy to play with. It has all the booby traps from the movie sequence (the start of Raiders of the Lost Ark), which all work beautifully. The boulder mechanism in particular is great fun. The plane (with snake!) is an excellent little addition. Great value for money and another fab toy from Lego.

"Target the Clone Troopers!"

Lego kick off their 2008 releases from The Clone Wars movie with the fantastic Magnaguard Starfighter. The model is a very accurate representation of the starfighter and it is packed with features.
The cockpit opens with the movement of a slide mechanism underneath, the aft body flips open and reveals two red tipped flick missiles inside, the entire length of the engine covers lift up and the two gun pods on either wing rotate a full 360 degrees. In the aft tip of each wing there is a clip which stores the electrostaff weapons that the Magnaguards use.
The bonus of this kit is that it has 2 IG-100 Magnaguard droids with it. This is the first time these have been released and are a welcome addition to the Star Wars Lego collection. Each one is armed with an electrostaff and I can see collectors buying a couple of these kits to get enough bodyguards for General Grievous.
The kit comprises 402 pieces (not including figures, weapons and missiles) and takes about 45 minutes to build. It measures 29 cm across, 28 cm long (along the engines) and 13 cm wide at the main body. There are 10 decals to apply and the ship is ready to do battle with the Clone Troopers in the V-19 Torrent Starfighters.
An absolute must have and a great looking fighter for any collection.

Fun to put together.

My almost-two year old son got this for Christmas. He is quite rough with toys, but this has enough moving parts and things to do to keep him very involved. My almost-five year old daughter also really loves it! If you have two children, it is great, as it has both a digger and a dump truck, so they can play and work together. The conveyor belt is a bit stiff, and hard to work for little fingers. They are already combining it with their other Duplo kits to make more complex situations. We love it! I have only given it 4 stars as it tends to fall apart if you push too hard on the conveyor belt - but then it is fun to put it together again!

Flimsy and fiddly

Not impressed with this at all. Ok if your child likes to look at their toys, but not ok if they want to play with them. It's not strong. It has a tiny separate wand, very easy to lose, so very easy to have an upset child.
