A big hit with our daughter

Our daughter loves this. I bought it for her when she was about 2 months old, but she really started enjoying it when she was better able to deliberately grab stuff. Now she enjoys trying to stuff it all in her mouth!

The peacock is brightly coloured on the front, with black and white patterns on the back - great for newborns. It also has a squeaker and a bell and scrunchy textures too. It seems really well made, with lots of things to explore.

very disappointing

I bought this for my 8 year old niece. It doesn't recognise her voice half the time or gets it wrong. Pretty annoying. Inside is pretty poor too.

These were a brilliant purchase - countless hours of entertainment watching your child trying to figure out where the bugs have come from, over and over again as they learn to co-ordinate their hands and feet!

Doidy joy

I have not recieved my cup form amazon yet but have just order three because they are excellent. My son is seven months old and with help form his pops has always used a doidy cup. (a smaller one to start with ) He never liked a bottle teat in his mouth and on the very few occasions my husband tried to give him my expressed breast milk it seemed easier for him to take it from a cup. My son was exlusivly breast fed so when we started using this cup for other liquids at six months he found it more agrreable. The elipses mouth means that it is easier to drink from without spillage or choking and gagging becasue the parent can control the amount of fluid that is allowed to enter the childs mouth. The elipses alaos means that the fluid stays just as the lip of the cup and the baby can lap the fluid like a kitten, this is vital before six months to avoid choking and it also avoids bottle-teat and breast-nipple confusion which can happen if babies are bounced between bottle and breast too young or too soon. Using this type of cup does indeed mean that a the parent must give constant supervision until the child has mastered the art of sipping for itself but I would rather sit and teach my child to drink from a cup that do the boring housework... too often children are expected to manage new skils by themselves and are given apparatus to do so by themselves and I believe this is somethime what can hold them back. Why put off what children are entilrey capable off and my son certainly prefers his water like this (like the grown ups are doing it) to having a plastic spout in his mouth. (I have to say I did try to suck myself the spouty cup we gave him at six months and boy it was indeed revolting, no wonder he didnt fancy doing that!!!!) doidy cups are great, easy enough for children to hold (little handles to grip) and master drinking from...eventually by themselves.. It will amaze people to see your child doing it!!!!

hmmmm

I enjoyed putting this together and it took me just under three hours with the 'help' of my girls. I don't like the clattering noise that it makes and there is a huge crash/bump at the bottom. I am disappointed.

Great bubble machine and a great price!

We bought this bubble machine for our daughter for her 3rd birthday, thinking it would go down well at her party. And it did!! It is great, stick 6 AA batteries in it (not included) add the mixture (included) and flick a switch to get literally gazillions of bubbles.

We had this on and off all afternoon and only used about half of one bottle of the bubble mixture - I had bought refills not knowing how long the mixture would last, so they should keep us in bubbles for ages!

It is easy to set up and use, and really does produce A LOT of bubbles. My daughter and her friends loved it, so I would recommend this to anyone looking to buy one. It's a great price and a great product.

This toy rocks!

The only other toy I've been this addicted to, was my first ever gameboy! This is absolutely brilliant! It's great fun for other watching you get completely mental about it.
A bit frustrating when you know you got it right but it doesn't register but, other than that, totally worth it.

Timeless Classic

Monopoly is the best-selling board game in the world. In the game, players roll the dice and may land on properties. If so they may buy them. If another player lands on already owned property they must pay rent to the owner. Rent can be increased by building houses and hotels. Sometimes players will pay taxes, receive rewards and even be sent to jail. The aim of the game is to bankrupt your opponents. The game is excellent fun for older children and adults alike. It has a good balance between luck and strategy. An absoulte must-have for every family.

Great fun!

Travel scrabble is ideal for those long haul flights where you just wish you had a game. The all-time classic now comes in a version you can use in the air or on the ground, and the tyles will never fall off! The handy pop-in mechanism really works and it won`t wet you down in any sort of turbulance. I all ways found it annoying that when you are short of time and in the middle of a game of scrabble you have to just abandon it and throw the bits back in the box - but not any more! With these pop-in bits you can literally preserve a game you would have otherwise have had to cut short. Supprisingly, this version is more durable than the orrigonal and is deffinitley a great buy!

Awesome little thing!

Bought this for my 12 year old son and also for a 37 year old friend. Both of them have had endless fun with these things. It's simple to use and flys pretty much straight out of the box. Needs 6 AA size batteries for the transmitter and you're off. You can"kind of" fly it round the room with a bit of twitchig on the left and right controls, but if you're looking for a fully flying helicopter, this isn't for you, although a bit of bluetac on the tip of the craft has you whizzing round the front room in no time. Crashed my sons one more times than I've had hot dinners, but you just pick it up, stand it back on it's feet, and full throttle and you're off again. This thing is great fun, and recommended simply for the fun factor. One word of warning... If you buy one for your kids, secretly get yourself one too, cos your kids wont get a go!!!!!

Top Notch

One of the best board games (if we can call it that- it's more of a funky jig-saw puzzle!) that you can find. Tactical and played out completely differently every single time, Carcassonne is definately worth the cash - as are the add-ons for this great game!

Brilliant product

We bought one for our grandson as they were going on holiday to Australia.
He thought it was brilliant and so did everyone in Singapore and Australia airports as they kept asking where they got them from.

Exterminate your money Problems!

Dalek is now a centre piece in my lounge. (girlfriend as you can imagine is perhaps not so thrilled)

For any person growing up in the 60 -s 70 s this Dalek is
large and authentic looking and will bring back great memories.

I am now using it to save for a sliding talking Dalek !

My 15 month old son loves this, and so do his mum and I. The speech setting, with phrases like those in the title always make us laugh. There's also more sensible singing, alphabet, and counting too. Educational and fun - just as it should be ;)
...and we've not even moved it from 'rocker' to 'wheeled' mode yet.

One of the best tripods you can buy for under £100

So I bought this Gorillapod along with a Cannon IXUS 70 digital camera and it's a perfect combination.

I recently went on a trip to Palermo, Sicily and without this Gorillapod, I wouldn't have got a single good picture. When vising churches and places with low light conditions you need a tripod to deal with the long exposure times (to avoid grain and the unforgivable use of the flash) but carrying a conventional tripod would have been allot of trouble with setup times for on the fly photography.

With this Gorillapod there wear no problems with setup times as all you need to find is something to either sit in on or rap around (most of the time a pew would do) There is enough articulation where the camera attach so that even with rapping the Gorillapod around a pole you can get level shots very easily. The Gorillapod is small enough so then it will fit in a coat pocket without trouble.

Obviously with this design you can't expect the legs to extend like on a ordinary tripod, the result being that you get allot of shots from a mouse's perspective when you can't find anything to sit/rap the Gorillapod on/around, but this problem only happens 1 percent of the time, the rest of the time this works perfectly .

Buy this Gorillapod!!! even if you think you will only use it once (trust me, you will find something to do with the thing) it's less than £15 for goodness sake!!! -.-

BUY IT!!!

P.S. The SLR/zoom versions can do more and really I should have bought either one of them, and so should you!!!

Butterfly Farm

Kit contains a netting/plastic freestanding container to put the caterpillars in. The container can be squashed down for storage when not in use. When extended it measures just over 30cm tall and approx 20cm across.

You send off for the carerpillars and food - costs an extra £2. Caterpillars are normally posted in 5 working days but can take up to 4 weeks. You should only order the caterpillars when its warm wnough outside for butterflies to survive. A detailed instruction booklet on how to care for your caterpillars and butterflies is included.

I should think you can reuse the kit with caterpillars that you find in the garden.

great for travelling

We bought these and the winnie the pooh mini mats for our 2 year old before we went travelling and they were a great success. No mess, could pull them out anywhere, and reuse them within a short period of time. In fact we stopped using the water pen that comes with the set, instead using a normal paint brush dipped in water (easier for less coordinated little hands to spread a lot of water and bring the colours up faster) or just finger painting using any available glass of water. They were great for times we wanted to stop and have a coffee and occupy a little one for 10 minutes or so. Handy to pull out on planes too.

summer fun

This is a great toy for all aspiring tennis players or just those of you who do not have a large enough garden to play tennis in. It's great to play with in the summer in the sun and will please all ages including parents. Best played with two people but you can practice on your own.
