I dont do loads of fancy work with Audacity the software which is supplied just record,I found it easier to record and save one track at a time(Stop software , Lift needle)then highlight start 5sec and Fade in, Highlight last 5sec and fade out. then select all and remove clicks&pops. i dont require faultless sound so works for me.Now quite a few on my ipod.A way to go yet though

Looked at reviews for USB record player. Finally decided on this one and glad I did.Unpacked, installed and ready to use in 20mins.

Much of the"crackle" that you get on vinyl is elimated and when burnt to a CD the sound is of a good, clear quality. I was surprised at how good when you consider the sound of the vinyl itself.
The software is so easy to use and the CD that comes with the turntable gives the option of a more sophisticated converter, which I shall try once I am more familiar with the whole process. I bought mine from Jacme, via Amazon and I recommend the whole package, Jacme delivered much quicker than their estimate and the unit was in pristine condition.
You can also use the unit to plug into a speaker system if you do not wish to use via a computer. I tried mine via a portable CD/Radio and it gave an acceptable quality. All in all, a good buy at an acceptable price.

From a not very technically minded person.
I have been looking for a USB turntable for a while now as I have an extensive vinyl collection that I wanted to preserve and to be able to transfer to my iPod. For a low priced, basic product, the Ion iTTUSB05 is fantastic. It took me less than 10 minutes to transfer my first single vinyl to my iPod - and I am useless with gadgets!Much of the"crackle" that you get on vinyl is elimated and when burnt to a CD the sound is of a good, clear quality. Very easy to use. Very good results.
I got ths for Christmas and I am very impressed. Incredibly easy to set up with, for once, understandable and relevant instructions, it gives great results which I can no doubt improve with the Audacity software once I get the hang of it.I never wanted a USB turntable, as I didn't want to get rid of the one I have - and this is the ideal solution. I would recommend this to anyone with a lots of vinyl and a turntable that they are happy with.

No tone control of any kind, not even a handful of presets. This means if want to use it as only a record player the sound you hear is the sound you get. The side mounted speakers also detract from the music spread but I expected that when I purchased it, thinking I could use the tone control to add some oomph. I mean c'mon guys, not even a simple tone knob on audio equipment? poor show.
Also I have had some issues with certain records not playing through to the end, they stop short. This only happens now and again and may improve maybe as the belts wear in. However its annoying to have to re-record an album because of this.
Basically if you are looking for a great turntable only then look somewhere else. For backing up records then definitely consider this unit.

not bad but beware the limitations
If you intend for this player to be just used for transferring your record collection to mp3 then this is a very good investment as it works as advertised and is very easy to use for this purpose. Its a pretty solid build quality and looks like it will last well. Certainly if this is your sole reason for buying this item I would probably give it 5 stars.However I have given it only 3 stars for the following reasons -

Excellent value for money
First Class service, well packaged,delivered on date specified which I was very impressed with as this item was required for Xmas and it arrived on time during what is a very busy and sometimes erratic postal time of the year. The product itself is excellent value for money, the quality of sound is very good, much better than expected for the price and the appearance is very pleasing if you are in to most things Retro like my daughter. So impressed I will be ordering another 2 in the near future for other family members who expressed a wish to have one to play their old vinyls on. Didn't receive the free gift as promised but so pleased with the product and service that this really didn't matter, just intrigued as to what it might have been.8

Bought this for my son as he wanted to play all his Dad's old records. It's actualy very good we've been playing it all day!! I would prefer a lever to lift the arm, to prevent scratching the record, but can live with that. I am just about to buy another one now for my Mum's birthday, so would recommend. I don't agree with last reveiw.9

You get what you pay for!
Firstly if you are going to buy this turntable, buy from Amazon.co.uk. With Supersaver delivery it works out to be the cheapest. The turntable itself is basic, however,"you get what you pay for!" I have just used it on some of my"precious" vinyl and I am very pleased with the sound quality produced. Only bug bear is the slight hum produced when turntable is on & the amp is turned up quite high. This unit will not allow you to"ground" it to your amp. Audiophile's need not buy, people who still want a medium to play vinyl on should go for this one.11

Capable of unexpectedly high quality sound
Having owned true hi-fi products in the past was more than a little skeptical when this turned up in my Christmas stocking. The arrival on my new Mac Pro and Bose Companion 5 'speakers prompted me to set it up and I have to say I am more than impressed with the quality. The packaged software is a let down as on my Mac it is unstable and of pretty poor design. I substituted this with GarageBand (for playing) and Amadeus Pro (for recording) and the results were good. For those a little more adventurous it is possible to upgrade the cartridge. I installed an Ortofon 5E (about £25) with no trouble and the improvement is significant providing a rich and stable sound-stage making a mockery of the modest price. On audiophile LP pressings I much prefer the music from my Ion than from a CD or Apple Music Store purchase. Am now re-discovering my record collection. Yes, it's plasticy. Yes the software sucks. Still deserves a 4* in my book. Set it up properly and enjoy.15

Rip Your Records Rapidly
Great product easy to use with great sound quality.Don't know how anyone broke a stylus in 20 minutes. However, as this is a Numark you can buy replacements if you do the same, or much more likely when you wear out the original, for around £8 on a host of web-sites. Even a replacement cartridge is only around £12 online.
It is a disadvantage not having a dust cover so I bought an OK one for around £13 from a US supplier on Amazon markets (look under Numark TTUSB / Ion ITTUSB Dust Cover which takes you to a supplier called DigitalDustCovers).
There are a few direct competitors for this (from Stanton, ION, OEM models & even a much pricier, more featured Numark model) but this seemed to best value from websites and once I got it the only complaint was lack of an included dustcover (which all competitors at under £100 seem to suffer from).
