Don't buy this bracket for the Sony KDL32V4000 as it doesnt fit

I bought this product as it was advertised with the TV i wanted (Sony KDL32V4000) The bracket does not fit the TV and it has been a major waste of time trying to fit it and also to get the problem sorted by amazon, lots of other people seem to have had this problem and yet amazon still havent removed the promotion.

Buyer beware

Although I recomend this item to anybody looking to buy a tv such as this I have a complaint. LG do allow a few pixels to die within specification. I don't know exactly how many but i know it over 5 as around that many were dead in my tv when I recieved it. I did not damage the tv or harm it i just pluged it in turnt it on and I noticed a few were dead. As far as I know only LG have this within specification although I havent researched for any other companies.

You're lucky if you get one that works!

The first remote I received would not power up so it was returned.

The second remote would power up however was faulty and could not be connected to by PC or Mac.

Two deviced received and both were faulty. The build quality and reliability is clearly questionable.

Excellent TV

I did lots of research into which TV to buy before settling on the Panasonic TH42PZ80B. I have always used Sony TV's in the past but they seem to have simply lost their footing with the new technology screens. My 32" Sony Vega had been playing up for some time with excessive colour blurring (the old 29" trinitron in the bedroom however is still as good as ever after more than 15 years) so it was time for a change.

Of course it is always a gamble buying new - will it look as good in a home set-up?, for example. The answer to this was yes but it actually looks better than it did in the shops - much better in fact.

What first strikes home is the amount of extra detail that you can see on familiar material - this is probably down to the high contrast ratio (30,000:1) - blacks are very black with so many graduations in between. Colours are great and this is the first TV I've owned where I haven't had to adjust the picture to my satisfaction - it's good straight out of the box. Also, if you like watching fast moving things (action films, motor sports, etc) then you will not be dissapointed because it is capable of very fast rendering - I suppose this is where a plasma wins hands down over anything else.

Highly recommended.

A universal remote that works

This is the first univeral remote I have ever had that actually replaces my other remotes. People seem to think the setup proceedure is complicated, I really didn't find this the case at all, you do need to know the make and model number of your equipment and it takes a while to go through the setup on the internet but it is hardly complex. It is definitely worth checking that your equipment is supported on the website before buying as it looks much more complex to teach the remote for unlisted equipment. This is a great bit of kit, does what it is supposed to, feels solid/well designed and greets ne with a friendly blue glow.

Bad move

For years I've had great reception on my 10+ year old analogue aerial. Switched to this one to work with my freeview box and - hey presto - nothing. Didn't even pick up analogue to anywhere near watchable quality. Very disappointing product. 0 stars.

good basic product

This is a good product if all you need is a simple TV aerial distribution system - no frills such as sending back the satellite infra-red or anything like that. Was a bit worried as it is a lot cheaper than most of the products on the market, but its fine for what I want to do. I now get digital TV although officially I'm out of range.

Good but not perfect

The bracket is extremely sturdy and well made, although there is one small problem and that is a slight sag on each bolted joint due to the weight of the TV. This is enough to tilt the TV slightly out of horizontal alingment. The sag can be minimised by tightening up each joint quite hard, but you lose the ease of adjustment by doing this. If I was buying another bracket, I would get one with a rotational adjustment for the TV to compensate for this.
Also, the instructions were not 100% clear for assembly.

This is one fine TV!!!!!

I bought this tv after having a couple of 32" sony crt's and then a decent (or so i thought lcd) but this absolutley wipes the floor with anything i have ever had! It has superb picture and sound with no blurriness and no ghosting whatsoever! Its better than any plasma i have seen on the market for the comparable price and would receommend it to anyone! it looks great too 5 stars thankyou!

Excellent stand

I searched for ages looking across the range of stands for LCD TVs - many were offering bargains as part of a deal with the TV. However, I am glad I held out for this one. It looks different to all the other standard models and has a real modern feel to it (hope it still feels like this in 4 years time)! The stand really compiments the 37 TV but would take a bigger model and still look good.
I was worried it may be a bit plastic and weak but it is solid and strong and the glass shelf allows up to 4 products comfortably - I have a PS3 and set top box both on one shelf.

Working well - so far

I bought this to feed a BT Vision box and HD DVD player down to a single input on a Philips LCD TV.

I thought the automatic switching may not work because the Vision box seems to always output a signal. Sky boxes (such as the Sky HD box) also output even when on standby.

As long as the Vision/Sky box was placed in the first input, this switcher automatically switches to the HD DVD player and back again.

I am very impressed....a switcher with no additional power supply and no need to fiddle with buttons or remotes!

I note some others have had problems after a period of time, so I will report back again if it all goes horribly wrong. So far, so good!

Brilliant product!

This is an amazing product. It would be pretty good value for just a surge protected 8 way extension! I have an AV setup with 5 devices that were all previously sitting in standby all the time. Guilt over my carbon footprint led me to search for a device like this. Out of the small number of similar devices on the market, the Intellipanel seems to stand out.
I've setup my Logitech Harmony One universal remote to send out a command to the IR sensor at the same time as turning on my other equipment. The sensor can learn any command from any IR remote. You just hear a small click as the Intellipanel fires up the mains. The rest of the kit comes on a fraction of a second later, almost as it had been in 'evil' standby all along.
When you turn your TV off, it detects a drop in power consumption and, 30 seconds later, turns the mains off. If you have a Sky+ box or similar device, you can plug it into a dedicated socket that remains permanently on. Brilliant!

Excellent Device

This Power meter tells you, the electrical current (in amps with 2 decimal places), voltage, power factor, frequency (in HZ), watts and KWhs used. I find it quite useful. I was able to reduce the standby power used by my PC. I was also able to upgrade my video card and save about 10 watts compared to my old card.

It was interesting to see that on standby, my microwave oven uses about 0.4A, but the power factor is so low that only 4W is actually consumed.

Examples of use:
1. Plug in your Combination microwave oven. Cook your favorite dish, see the exact KWhs consumed to two decimal places. You quickly see that the cost of electricity is typically 2% to 5% of the cost of the food.

2. A device consuming 10 Watts in standby is costing about £6 per year at 8p/kwh. But some older devices use 40 Watts in standby mode. It is as well to know if this is the case.

3. How much does energy does the pond pump or the dehumidifier really use?

4. How much energy does your router consume?

5. How much energy do you really save at 30C compared to 40C in your washing machine?

To me, as a physicist, most of the global warming scare stories are as credible as the book of Genesis, but wasting resources is silly and this device lets you quickly make informed choices. It's one disadvantage is that you must disconnect and reconnect your device in order to measure the consumption.

Surprised!!

I was surprised when this product arrived to see it was just merely a small self-contained box. The product itself was heavy and surprisingly, fit enough to do the job too. The only down fall was the measurements of this bracket do not exactly give you access to a lot of movement, so i guess straight on the wall would be fine, but for the tv screen to slant to a side... no good! Still recommend this, as you rather pay this price than a retail shop store.. at the end of the day it does what its meant to do with added package to make it huge in size.

Icon Excel 4250 review

Well packaged although heavy. All components clearly labelled and exploded diagram easy to follow. Finished article looks very smart (glass panels are of toughened glass) and extremely good value. Amazon delivered in a timely fashion - a well pleased customer!!

Not bad for the price.

This is fine for a budget wall-mounting. It tilts and turns the TV to get the best viewing position and is discretely hidden behind the set. On the minus side, the assembly instructions are poor - thank God for my engineer brother-in-law, and, more worryingly, the part of the arm that connects to the TV and takes the immediate weight is made of plastic! This is a definite weak spot and although it is doing the trick now, I can't see it lasting for long. You get what you pay for I guess!

Absolutely fantastic. Super quick delivery from Amazon as always. Originally found this as the Aero 4250 and by fluke did a different search and found it over £30 cheaper as an Oval 4250 (looks identical to me).

Bargain £99. It's in Curry's & Bennetts for £299 yet you don't get the service you do on Amazon ie. customer reviews!

Arrived with a couple of manufacturing defects on the glass. Instructions said to get in touch with Helpline (not Amazon). Helpline were fantastic. Left answerphone message and call was returned before first thing next morning! Really helpful lady. Sent new glass immediately. Arrived next morning. HOWEVER, they only do clear glass so suggested I get in touch with Amazon for grey (smoked) glass. Decided to live with it.

Easy to build per instructions (need 2 people ideally). Looks AMAZING. Have put 50" Plasma on it (measures 48" horizontally edge to edge - so very slight overhang). Samsung table top base is oval and looks made for this stand. I'll upload pictures to help other prospective purchasers. Our TV is a Samsung PS50A457 £699 delivered free on a Saturday by John Lewis with 5 year guarantee (just noticed it's gone up to £839.

You will see the cables as there are so many gaps but it's still fab. We've managed to hide ours behind a sub-woofer that sits at the back of the stand. Alternatively you could buy black card and fold it round the rear of the stand.

Beware, due to the narrowness of the stand and the cable management column, our surround sound actually protrudes slightly forward - not a problem though.

It's very neat and has taken the place of a 32" widescreen yet doesn't take up any more space (corner position).

My recommendation - don't hesitate - BUY! Agree with previous reviewers that it's always good to look in the High Street first. But you'll see that Comet's stands are boring compared to this beauty!
