Very Pleased

Had this T.V. for about six weeks now, and I must say I am extremely pleased with it. After a bit of experimenting I set it to"ECO" mode, in order to obtain the picture quality I liked most. Freeview is supurb as is DVD playback via hdmi link. Can't fault it. Highly recommended.

Well worth the money!

Due to the digital change over I was forced to buy a new TV. I was apprehensive about setting up this high-tec (to me anyway!) Sony TV - especially as I still have an old VHS recorder in the bedroom. How wrong could I be! After just attaching all the connections, it set itself up without a hitch. The picture quality is amazing and even makes the old VHS tapes look good. In fact, I cannot fault it. Also, the subtle mauve coloured surround looks good too. My old TV had a 17" screen and this wide screen 20" is more or less the equivalent size so I recommend getting a bigger screen size if you did not have wide screen before.Sony KDL-20S3040 - 20'' Widescreen Bravia HD Ready LCD TV - With Freeview - Mauve

Quality Wall Bracket

Bought this for mounting my Sony Bravia 26" LCD TV. This bracket is of all metal construction and comes with ALL fixings. A 10mm masonry drill will be required along with a 10mm spanner as wall fixings have hexagonal heads. Once fitted the bracket offers horizontal `touch' movement with no sag on arm. Vertical tilt is adjusted using a hexagonal key (also provided) which is then locked in position.Good value for money and no real down side though would suggest using washers on hexagonal screws (not provided) otherwise screw heads will tear into paint. The bracket will bring your TV out about 130mm of the wall.

Works well

I wanted to break out the RGB part of the signal from the SCART output socket of my free view box so I could use it as an input to my media recorder. The media recorder only has RGB plugs.
Most SCART blocks to RGB are for accepting input so are of no help. This adaptor allows either direction depending on the switch setting.
Note that you may have to set your free view box via the configuration menu to make it include an RGB signal in the SCART output.

Daewoo 22" LCD Review

I've now had my Daewoo 22" LCD television for just over a month and I wanted to wait a while before reviewing it so I could review it fairly in it's entirely.

First all of let start by saying this is a very good 22" LCD television perfect for small bedrooms and rooms alike with the added bonus of a built DVD player and freeview + a USB/card reader, easily wall-mountable it really is excellent value for money.

The LCD Panel is made by LG it seems to handle the freeview picture and HD-Gaming very well I've tried & tested a PS3 and the HD-gaming was very good and it handled it nicely.

There are couple of draw-backs to this unit generally just some niggles that can be annoying from time to time but for the price you can't really complain the build quality is much better than you'll find in high-street stores selling lesser brand units.

Right explaining the niggling problems well firstly if you use TV mode (although it'll most likely be set to DTV = Freeview most of the time) TV mode does seem to have a distinct colour problem with the pre-set picture modes. Secondly the HDMi socket on the rear of the unit is unfortunately placed to tightly against the back of the unit so it can be quite a struggle to plug in an HDMi device. Thirdly when I received my unit the remote control had a fault on it which was replaced by Daewoo swiftly for free but just to warn you the remote can be expensive to replace as it is an all-in-one handset it can cost upwards of £50 from Daewoo spares direct!

Lastly a couple of minor of problems the sound can be issue as even set on the lowest setting it is still quite loud (if using at night/ late evening) and also the lack of multi-region support and format/s support for the DVD player is bit annoying. :-(

Other than these few niggling problems this unit is really good which is why I rate it 5/5 stars because as like most things it does have a few issues but nothing that can't be over-come and generally for the price if it holds or drops in the near future it is a very good bargain.

They make it sound so simple.

The pack is a DVD case with CAM module and a viewing card and some set up instructions. I thought all I needed to do was put the viewing card in the CAM then put the CAM in the slot in the side of my digital T.V. Then all I needed to do was go online and register my personal and credit card details. How wrong I was. Firstly, the website requires you to purchase a CAM module from Setanta Sports even if you already have one (that needs sorting). Secondly, after phoning Setanta Sports to register I was told the channel would be on my T.V. in fifteen minutes. It was not. I followed the VERY lengthy set up procedure included in the pack but to no avail. I went back to the website and followed the set up instructions on there and ... it worked. The procedure is - get this - turn the T.V. off at the wall and insert CAM module then turn it on to Channel 5 for 30 minutes then turn it off at the wall again for 15 seconds then turn it on to Channel 5 again. When I went to Channel 34 I found Setanta sports there.

To be honest I'm not a big football fan but I am a fan of Boxing, Joe Calzaghe and the UFC. Setanta Sports seemed to be offering a service I could not refuse at £9.99 a month with all the Premiership exclusives, World Cup qualifiers, Touring Cars, etc included. The actual content of the service is very good if only they could make the set up procedure alot easier.

Great product but tricky instructions.

I bought this product from Amazon for my 32' Toshiba HD Ready TV. It came with a variety of screws and bolts to mount any TV, so no worries if your TV is curved at the back. It puts your TV approx 3 - 4 inches away from the wall and with the simple to use tilt function, you can easily connect all your scart, hdmi and pc input connections.

Took me about 30 minutes from beginning to end to mount and looks great on the wall, saving much needed space by having no stand. Only reason it didn't get top marks was because the instructions were not great, a bit confusing and contradicted itself sometimes. The end product however is just what I was looking for.

Made an annoying situation worse

I can only recommend you to steer clear of this product at all costs. My DVD player was occasionally freezing which was very annoying, especially when it happened towards the end of a film. It was across lots of disks so I purchased this cleaner based on the 5* ratings of other DVD users. To my absolute annoyance my expensive DVD surround sound home cinema now fails to load most disks and really struggles to navigate the menu of those it can load (takes up to minutes to go from one menu selection to the next). Also now the freezing is much more regular. Multiple uses of the product fail to fix the problem. This may fix all your woes as per the other 5* ratings but be warned - you may end up binning your player due to this product.

Does What It Says on the Box

Why pay a lot more money for a more complicated solution to the simplest of problems. If you want to mount a Flat Screen TV (mine is a 26") flat against a wall, without wanting tilt/swivel/twist etc... then get one of these - couldn't be simpler and easier to fit. Strong and well made bit of kit. 4 No. wall plugs and bolts (supplied) to fix to wall and 4 No. threaded screws (4mm and 6mm supplied) to fix to 200 x 100 VESA mount on TV

Superb classy stand

After pondering for a few days on which stand to get for my 50' plasma I finally decided on this one, And boy am I glad I did, it really looks the part in black with the silver legs, only downside is the rather poor cable management, overall a really classy looking stand that I would definately recommend.
