Superb Television

Im not a technician or engineer but seeing this SONY KDL 32U3000 at a very low price attracted me to buy from amazon. Its very easy to use, connected to my laptop via male vga pin it works properly. now I am enjoying all my downloaded films to watch in my SONY BRAVIA. bright crisp films very recommendable to have. amazon keep it up! delivery time as good as you expect!!!

Sony. The best you can buy, no question.

Like many others i spent months deliberating over the endless 32" LCD's available. I did online research but i also conducted several"field tests" in stores and friends homes. I am no techno-geek but i have a good pair of eyes. I have friends with various size and model Sony, Samsung, Panasonic and Phillips LCD's so i visited them over the last 3 months, compared them all working and made an informed decision that way. Samsung bezel looks very nice but picture is not very clever at all. Panasonic & Philips are good but have nothing on the Bravia. The colours are breathtaking and the sharpness of the picture is unbeatable. I spent 30 minutes tweaking the picture over several channels, comprehensive but straightforward menu's but once you get it spot on you will not get anything close which is not in HD. If you get it right you could be easily fooled into thinking you are watching HD as i have seen several HD TV's in action, despite this i will be upgrading with Sky to HD so i can't wait for that !. As for gaming i have a Wii (with component cable) and XBOX in HD and it is spot on.
My previous 2 TV's have been Sony and i was tempted to stray before doing the"field tests". I will be looking in future for for a 40"+ LCD or plasma and also a projector for a home cinema room. I will not look at any other brand but Sony. You know what you are getting with Sony. The best.
If you are looking for 32" and this is within budget (should be as priced at lower end) stop now. Buy this at this price and you will not be disappointed.

Easy to fit the stand into the bottom of the TV. I bought a glass corner stand with the TV, which was easy to put together. Both arrived in two days with free delivery. I Can recommend the TV.

Sony Quality

As usual Sony deliver a high quality television that delivers excellence and is built to last!!
The television was delivered very efficiently by 'Amazon'(10/10 for service...thank you!) and was out of the box and (using auto set up) i was watching within minutes. This 20" model is perfect size for a dining room, Kitchen or Bedroom and small living rooms and can be used free standing or wall mounted.
I think most people know that you pay a little bit more for Sony products but they ARE a class apart in picture and sound quality and while other manufacturers i.e.'Samsung' have made in-roads into more cosmetically pleasing designs, they do not deliver the same picture or sound quality or the product life span....FACT!!
I would recommend SONY every time and the proof comes from the reviews that you will see listed on this and other models within the Bravia range.

Super TV

I bought this TV from Amazon in early May after reading many positive reviews. It arrived by CityLink to Northern Ireland within 3 days which I was very pleased with and it was literally out of the box, attached to the stand, switched on, select auto tuning and 10 minutes later it was completely set up - wonderful. It has a great picture and many other features and was a very good buy.

Beware! There are one or two odd reviews here!

Well - not wanting to spend a fortune on replacing our 5-year old Philip's TV I thought I'd check out"Which?" magazine and some on-line reviews. There's little contest - this set is clearly the best value buy at present (at Mar 08). The next model up, the LXD, is over £100 more and if money's no object it does offer a touch less"ghosting", i.e. the very slight shimmering of pixels next to moving objects. The fact is that this set creates very little shimmering indeed. I go along fully with the professional reviewers on this: it's truly a top-notch and well-designed set that performs brilliantly and looks absolutely gorgeous.

Stop looking now - this is a great deal

Having read lots of the reviews which seem to be written by people who are 'into TVs', I took their advice and bought one of these after scouring the web. I don't really do TVs, watching them is fine, but debating the deatil of the 'engine' doesnt exactly do it for me. I simply needed a new one for the family.

Delivery excellent, as always and the hardest bit is getting it out of the box, and that ain't exactly difficult! Thereafter it sets itself up and away you go. The picture quality is exceptional, the sound is great. It looks cool, smart, is light and doesnt take up much space. My kids plugged in their xbox with a 'high def HDMI whatever bla bla' lead and I think the result scared them with the sharpness of the image.

So, for those of you not too concerned about your dbi, HDMI, pro this, surround that, and what have you, a layperson view would be that its just a very good telly at a very good price.

Bravo ! - for Sony Bravia 23"

Isn't it difficult to know what tv to buy these days, especially if you're a non-techy like me ? Anyway I plumped for this Sony - an excellent service from Amazon by the way - and can't praise it too highly. Arrived today, and first thing I noticed was how light it was taking it out of the box. Very easy to set up, went without a hitch, not like the old days. Good to see that you can vary the bass/trebble on the sound (about time this was included) and there is also an option to keep sound 'constant', ie to stop that annoying way in which the volume is increased for advertisements and trailers (an infringement that should be outlawed).
By the way the 'mocha' colour of this model seems to be a shade of grey..
So all in all this seems to be an excellent buy and I would recommend it highly judging by my first impressions.

Good, but...

It's a very good product, with excellent connectivity. Although I'm slightly disappointed with the EPG & freeview picture. It seems fuzzy to me. I can understand why the freeview picture will vary in quality (bit rates and all that!) - but I don't see why the EPG can't run at the native resolution (the configuration menus are all crystal clear). It looks like the EPG is upscaled along with the freeview picture itself.

But perhaps that's just the nature of LCD! I guess I've been spoilt with my 4 year old Panasonic plasma (that runs at a lower SD resolution).

One big plus point is that the EPG & teletext seem to load VERY fast and are cached in memory (much better than the set boxes / pvrs that I've used).

AMAZING TV FOR THE PRICE

I was fortunate enough to pick up this tv for an unbelievable £599 elsewhere and it is an absolute bargain.
Setup was very easy,however the out-of-the-box factory presets across all three modes are NOT good.Luckily,Samsung have provided more picture tweak options than you can poke a stick at,so you'll have little problem finding something to suit your particular preference.If you get stuck then a quick search on one of the AV forums should sort you out.
One word of warning...this tv has easily the worst sound I've heard on any tv EVER (which is the reason for 4 stars only).
The picture quality on both analogue and Freeview digital is surprisingly very good and the blacks are nice and deep.Even in dark scenes there is a lot less crushing of shadow detail than several other top end lcds I've seen.
It doesn't have the 100 hz facility of it's more expensive sibling,the A656,but this is hardly a problem as the overall images really are quite stunning (once correctly calibrated).This is especially so when hooked up to an upscaling dvd player via the HDMI connection.It has brought a whole new lease of life to my standard def. dvd collection!
The tv comes with a shiny black frame and matt black panel which really helps keep nasty screen reflections to a bare minimum,although it is a bit of a dust magnet.
Highly recommended.

Simply the Best

After 3 years with a 32 inch LCD Hitachi I opted to change back to Sony. The difference is astounding. The picture is so sharp and clear it is difficult to see the difference when viewing in HD. My only critiscism would be that when you select"Vivid" for the picture mode you cannot adjust the amount of colour! Would strongly recommend this model to anyone who wants the best picture around. I was assured by the Sony Centre in Ipswich that this model was only available through Sony centres! (at £550). I got it at Amazon for £388 plus £5 for next day delivery!!

Any Good With Playing On PS3 ?

Will this tv be good if i don't want to spend anymore then £250?
Will it be good connected up with my PS3?

Pleasant surprise(s)

Firstly - Great service from Amazon (and the courier) I placed the order late one night (selecting free shipping) and by 9.30am two mornings later I had my TV.

The television:

This is not our primary TV (which is a Pioneer Plasma) and I had mixed feelings about ordering an LCD (not a fan). However, whilst its not up to the standard of the Pioneer...at one eighth of the the cost of the plasma this Toshiba is really very good. (just don't judge the picture until you turn off the awful Black Stretch function!)

Lightweight, attractive design - highly recommended at this price.

Great TV

Well i was advised by a friend to get this TV due to its spec. Great resolution and connectivity.

Granted not much difference on normal terrestrial picture but clear enough. And when the PS3 was connected via scart lead still looked a bit... plain.

But plug in the HDMI cable and PS3 is a crisp graphic beauty. Blue rays look amazing, blackhawk down and starship troopers are jaw droppingly good, even the upscaled dvd's on the PS3 look amazing and i could not go back to watching a normal DVD player.

Best buy i've ever made and very very happy.

Decent all rounder

I purchased this TV as an upgrade from a 28 inch CRT box that recently died. I've always been a bit hesitant about buying a HDTV set due to fears over SD picture quality. Thankfully, this box as proved that (through the build in Freeview tuner at least) that standard definition TV can look good on a 37inch set (for those who care - I sit either 5ft or 9ft away from it).

The TV has a number of 3 modes that allow varying degrees of modification plus 3 entertainment modes that cannot be changed. The system provides a wide range of picture settings that can be (and need to be) changed. Out of the box the settings do not do justice to the set so you will need to adjust them. The entertainment modes seem to work well with the cinema mode giving a very pleasing picture.

HD viewing is very good. I have a PS3 so the TV gets plenty of use with games and Blu-Ray videos. The 1080p 24hz and 60hz output has made me very glad that my old TV bit the dust.

Negative points: 1) the speakers could be better, 2) It is hard to get the set up just right (displaying multiple shades of black is always a bit of an issue on LCD tv sets) 3)Freeview channel changes are slow

Positive points: 1) Decent black levels for an LCD (though not as good as the glossy screened 6 series 2) Plenty of display options 3) Good range of inputs (inc 3 HDMI 1.3 connections and a USB connection) 4) Very good viewing angles 5) Fast menus (inc Freeview TV guide) 5)It remembers your settings selection for each input source 6)Good value for money

Ordered from Amazon 16.27 Friday, estimated delivery Tuesday, having breakfast Monday 07.50, doorbell, new TV, amazing Amazon!!. As to the Philips TV again amazing, so simple to set up even a 3 year old could do it!. I have never seen a clearer picture, almost 3D, and the sound quality betters many expensive hi-fi systems I could name. Altogether an extremely good value purchase, too good for the kitchen where it was destined (I could have a problem with my wife over that so it looks like another purchase shortly). Don't look any further if you are thinking of purchasing a new digital/freeview LCD TV of this size, this has to be it.

Got this primarily for my XBox 360 and it both looks and sounds fantastic, no complaints whatsoever.
