Pros - Fantastic Picture, Truly Amazing.
- Looks good on or off
- Plenty of connection options
Cons - Lack of bass on sound, it sounds a bit flat. I intend to invest in a surround sound system to correct this.

Review for Toshiba 37AV504 - 37" Widescreen HD Ready LCD TV With Freeview:
For the price, it's unbeatable, if you've had a end generation CRT toshiba before, then the menu is the same and the remote aswell - so an easier change over. Menu speed is good unlike Samsung lcd's which take forever to flick between channels.
The picture is good, dependent on what you have connected - I have an xbox360 connected with compnents, which makes the picture very dark indeed
(probably needs hdmi cable). Yet to try anything hdmi, but the freeview is brillaint.
The sound is good, but could do with surround sound (as they all do).
Very similar to the samsung range in apprearance, although this has a slightly more squared edge to it, but still nice.
Attracts dusts like nobodys business.
Doubt your'll find a better 37" top brand LCD for this price

Review for LG 26LB75 - 26" Widescreen HD Ready LCD TV - With Freeview:
it wont hold up to the consoles power, leaving text unsharp (and i have changed setting) it cant handle black and goes all fuzzy, the built in freeview can pick up a single channel (i have freeview in diffent room).
the only good thing to say is there is lots of colour in the picture which is nice. This is my second model of this tv and has same problems.
dont expect anything from this tv, all looks no power.

Review for Toshiba 42AV555 - 42" Widescreen HD Ready LCD TV - With Freeview:
The TV was well packed in its easy-to-open box (a couple of easy-release catches on each end meant that the box just slipped over the top, leaving the TV itself easy to lift out and carry to its position.
Two items of the technical specs disappointed me a little, but not enough to warrant a major complaint: this model is stated to include a PC input, but this is meant to be via one of its two HDMI sockets - not what I was expecting (especially as this PC does not have an HDMI or DVI output).
I was also a little surprised to find that unlike the 18 year-old Toshiba this TV is replacing, it does not feature proper audio out connectors - I would imagine that most potential purchasers would want to feed the audio through a dedicated sound system (as I do) and the headphone jack simply isn't up to the job. Along with a couple more HDMI inputs, this is perhaps something Toshiba needs to address in any future upgrade of this otherwise excellent series of TVs!

Misleading tech specs
Before buying this TV on Amazon, I checked it out in my local electricals superstore where one was on display in the middle of a selection of its main competitors in the same price range, all showing the same (non-HD) demo. This had the clearest picture, the richest colours and, to my eyes, looked best as a box. It was difficult to guage the sound quality in those circumstances, though. The TV was well packed in its easy-to-open box (a couple of easy-release catches on each end meant that the box just slipped over the top, leaving the TV itself easy to lift out and carry to its position.

Review for HannsG HT11 - 19" Widescreen Tokyo HD Ready LCD TV - With Freeview:
Good points: picture is clear and sharp and a heavy sturdy remote control.
Bad points: the TV is not interactive even when using freeview, which means that when you watch bbc news and you want to use the red button, it does not work. The sound is tinny like you are listening to a small cheap transistor radio. No bass whatsoever.
When watching freeview, you are unable to see all the channels, the radio is separated from main freeview channels.
I was disappointed with the tv as I really did liked the shape of the screen and clarity of the picture and it is quite easy to set up. I am not really a widescreen lover so thats why the tv appealed to me.
For a better sound, its best linking it to your hi-fi system.

Review for Sony KDL-40X3500 - 40'' Widescreen Bravia 1080P Full HD LCD TV - With Freeview:
It really is a beautiful piece of kit with the brushed metal edging and the glorious 1080p HD screen which presents anything and everything spectacularly.
Watching fast moving sports like football is just amazing with the 100Hz motion flow in action.
The speakers and audio set up are great, although a surround sound system would obviously be a improvement, I don't have one hooked up at the moment and am more than happy so far.
The fans which have been mentioned below and in other reviews for this TV have now been fixed on newer models, I can't hear anything on my TV even with the sound down and my ear up close to the screen.
It is an expensive option but definatly the best TV you can buy.
Highly recommended.

Update 03/08/08. Toshiba couldn't get a new display to the warranty centre until the end of August so agreed to supply new TV. Exchange is supposed to happen 11/08/08, so nearly 2 weeks without a TV, will update when/if this happens.
Update 19/08/08. TV exchanged as agreed. New TV working fine, some improvement to the screen in that the light bleed from the top corners is now non-existent, have Toshiba made some mods or is this just a better example?

Screen problem with Toshiba 40XF355
Bought this TV back in the January sales (not from Amazon). Love the looks and picture. However, it has now developed a fault after only 6 months, a 3" strip down the left of the screen shows some, mainly lighter, colours differently to the rest of the screen. Now in for warranty repair and requires a complete new display. If it had been out of warranty I wonder how much this would have cost? I've not heard of other people with the same problem but something to be aware of. So far been gone a week and waiting for a new display to come into stock.Update 03/08/08. I don't own this yet, but...
I apologise for this non-review but I am on the verge of buying this TV and just read the"Don't believe Philips" comments and am now in two minds... Is this set full 1080p HD or not? I really want a future-proof TV (as much as possible), therefore want to buy a 1080p TV with 100hz. It looks like a really good deal and a great TV - hence my 5-stars - but is the last reviewer correct? Is it only 1080i?77

Bad experience
I bought one and had it delivered. It does not work at all. I'm having to arrange a refund. Very disappointing experience. Good luck if you order one, but I would avoid this brand in the future, as it has been complicated to make arrangements to be home for the delivery and now have to do the same for the return. Plus un-pack and now pack the box again. It shouldn't have happened, items should be tested before they are sent out to customers.79
Review for Sony KDL-32P3020 - 32'' Widescreen Bravia HD Ready LCD TV - With Freeview:
Read on if you really need to know more.
We had been considering the new Sony and Panasonic Full HD models (KDL-40W4000 and TX37LZD800) costing nearly three times as much before coming to our senses and buying this one.
No, this one does not display a picture at 1080p. But we have struggled to spot the difference.
No, it doesn't have the latest cinema processing engine. But DVDs look no worse for it.
We made a point of watching some football (yawn!) just to see how it would cope with fast moving objects. We could not spot any trails from either the fast moving ball and players or from panning.
When watching DVDs, we noticed terribly jerky movement and object trails in panning shots. Duff image processing? Faulty panel? No. Our Pioneer DVD player was trying to upscale the picture to 720p and making a pig's ear of it (or maybe it was the cheap HDMI cable that was unable to cope with the higher bit-rate, but I doubt it). Once we switched the DVD player's upscaling off and let the TV take care of it, we ended up with Miyazaki and Michel Ocelot cartoons looking almost 3D and live-action movies with a cinematic feel. Even SD broadcasts look almost as if they have been transmitted in HD.
So, why only 4 stars? Because, like all new TVs, it came colour-calibrated by infants. The reds, blues and greens were so vivid that they hurt our eyes. Even Eastenders and Coronation Street looked as if they had been filmed in a spotlit Fisher Price set. We managed to subdue the colours somehow after some fiddling with the controls, but it will take a lot more tweaking with DVE before we get a decent colour balance.
We'd heard a lot of bad things about the speakers on these panels. We normally use studio monitors to listen to soundtracks, so I thought we'd be disappointed with the sound from the tv. Didn't need to worry. They are loud enough for the job and precise enough to cope with both concert DVDs and movie soundtracks.
Granted, it is not the best looking set I've seen. But that doesn't matter when you are watching a programme. Besides, a tv that does not catch your eye switched on or off is doing its job, isn't it?
It is very easy to get carried away with the rave reviews on-line and in the magazines. You keep shifting your expectations because of write-ups that mention that edge-definition is better on some £1000 TV set or that one can see better detail in the dark scenes if one waves around a bit more money. I guess these reviewers have to justify their existence somehow and make the most of the barely noticeable differences. Most of us will struggle to spot any problems once we take the set home and turn the colour, contrast and the brightness down to human levels. Anyway, when you're sitting in front of your tv watching Alien, if you're busy admiring the detail level in the ichor trails instead of rooting for Ripley, either you ought to get out more or go back to your work in the editing room.
In short, unless you edit your own HD videos (come to think of it, we do, but we use multi-monitor computer set-ups for that, sit inches from the screens and then let someone else pay for the machinery to project the results professionally), save yourself the money and go for one of these. You are unlikely to regret the choice. And even if you do, you'll be able to sell it off easily, and buy one of this year's Full HD sets for half the price next year anyway, so what have you lost?

Very Happy with TV
The only thing i haven't liked about the service was that it took 7 day's to get here even though it's on first class delivery.I read the review before and tend to agree yea there are TV's out's there with a slightly better picture but there's nothing in it really. The sound is fine. It looks very pretty.
Overall for the money i think it's a brilliant buy !
