Review for Toshiba 37AV504 - 37" Widescreen HD Ready LCD TV With Freeview:
For the price, it's unbeatable, if you've had a end generation CRT toshiba before, then the menu is the same and the remote aswell - so an easier change over. Menu speed is good unlike Samsung lcd's which take forever to flick between channels.
The picture is good, dependent on what you have connected - I have an xbox360 connected with compnents, which makes the picture very dark indeed
(probably needs hdmi cable). Yet to try anything hdmi, but the freeview is brillaint.
The sound is good, but could do with surround sound (as they all do).
Very similar to the samsung range in apprearance, although this has a slightly more squared edge to it, but still nice.
Attracts dusts like nobodys business.
Doubt your'll find a better 37" top brand LCD for this price

Excellent Tv/Freeview/DVD for bedroom, study or kitchen
I purchased two of the above TV's for bedrooms in my house. Got an aerial engineer to connect to existing aerial. A lovely clear picture. Easy to operate the DVD. Easy to switch off and turn over channels. It can be a little slow picking up a full signal at times but it comes through very clear when it does.

Review for Samsung LE23R87BDX - 23" Widescreen HD Ready LCD TV - With Freeview - Black:
1) Will my ps2/xbox/gamecube look rubbish on this screen
Answ: Depends on what you consider rubbish and also what game you put in. Some games, like FIFA 08 that dont seem to offer progressive output and so the display doesnt look great. Its like playing a pc game in 800x600 on a native 1440x900 pc display - its the same kinda thing. However, games like resident evil 4, gran turismo, WRC rally evolved and toca 3 look either improved or just slightly less good than standard tv. I have my ps2 connected with the component cables, dont connect through composite! The picture is truly bad!
2) Is the menu and channel response time slow?
Answ: Not really and yes, channels can take 3 to 4 seconds to change on the inbuilt freeview, the menu system is a little unresponsive but taking no more than a second to do anything. It just seems a little laggy but can be forgiven as its very user friendly and looks good.
3) Can I use another set-top box for freeview on this tv?
Answ: Yes! You dont have to put up with the laggy inbuilt one on this. Plug another set top box in through the scart and just select the scart input from the connections menu. You could even have 2 set top boxes plugged in if you really wanted! Oh one thing to note with the freeview on this tv, it didnt find that many channels for me whereas my set top box found 4 times as many. Dont know whether the sensitivity is lacking.
4)Is the sound really that bad?
Answ: No not at all. I havent even turned it up to maximum yet but on about 60% it is loud enough for the neighbours next door to here through the wall (on a quiet day). Assuming just background noise in your house, 35% or above will be enough. The speakers seem to be fine, no distortion, not absolutely amazing but thats to be expected! But as good as any other tv speakers, if not a bit better.
5)Is the picture quality good?
Answ: A distinct improvement from CRT tvs in standard resolution (i.e. freeview) with a cleaner image and better refresh rate. I havent tried HD yet but I imagine it will be fantastic.
A good bonus about this tv is its picture in picture. You can play your games and have the tv on in the corner too so if you are waiting for something to comoe on, you know when its about to begin, Handy!
No complaints about this tv so far. 5/5 stars no problem!

A chance to dispell some HDTV myths and wives tales
This isnt going to be a complete and exhaustive review for this set as I havent yet had the time to go into any sort of testing process with the set I have just bought (literally just hours ago). However, in just these few hours I have managed to completely dispell some of the myths surrounding HDTV and this tv is particular and confirm some others. Here they are:1) Will my ps2/xbox/gamecube look rubbish on this screen
Answ: Depends on what you consider rubbish and also what game you put in. Some games, like FIFA 08 that dont seem to offer progressive output and so the display doesnt look great. Review for Toshiba 42XV503DB - 42" Widescreen 1080p Full HD LCD TV With Freeview:
It has brought a new dimension of enjoyment for games on the PS2.
I haven't got any HD devices yet but find standard cable pictures are really good.
I dropped a star, as I don't consider the sound to be as good as Toshiba's description, that said it does me well enough.
It gets over complicated when you are buying TVs as you compare many factors to select the right one. You can't tell true performance in shops as they either have poor connections or play vivid DVDs.
I recommend this, as it is good value for money and a very smart looking TV. The Euro games are fine to view and I have stopped worrying about lag and the rest of the baloney we never even knew about two years ago. I now just relax and enjoy.

42" full HD Toshiba
The picture is very good. People sit as close as 12 feet and the screen is still comfortable to view, It is really effective at 14-16 feet. I am pleased I didn't go for the 46" screen, as it would have been hype influence rather than practicality. Set up for cable takes no time at all. I haven't tried its internal freeview. It has brought a new dimension of enjoyment for games on the PS2.

Stunning picture for the price
I received this 5 days ago and I still cannot get over the"ooooogh" factor when watching a 1080p picture -"I Am Legend" just looks stunning. The SD picture is good and motion blurring is minimal. One warning though - you will have to get stocked up on snacks as once your Sony is turned on and GTA IV is running, you will not want to be parted.Ever.(Tip - get the supermarket to deliver and then you won't have to do the pesky shopping.)76

Review for Toshiba 40XF355D - 40" Widescreen Pictureframe 1080P Full HD LCD TV - With Freeview:
Well I was a little apprehensive about ordering serious kit online. Tic toc, tic toc I received emails and phone calls within 2 days of ordering (very reassuring) and now I have the set on a stand in my living room. Delivery was excellent with a courtesy phone call 45mins ahead of time.
Now the T.V is exceptional. You can fully customize the settings even down to the cool blue glow on the front.
One of my first concerns was light bleed in letterbox mode mentioned in two present reviews. I killed the lights, put it in a Standard Definition DVD The Chronicles of Riddick and guess what..........................................
no bleed. Black as black the letterbox was/is. As for the q.u.a.l.i.t.y wooo weeee! I can barely wait for the blu-ray playing PS3, which should be winging its way to me now.
Watching normal T.V say virgin cable one can see that the SD varies from program to programe. Old early
sit coms seem dull and washed out, old documentries look faded, but in general some current stuff I would
grade from 5/10 to 9/10. But hey slap in one of your favourite films and leave the main stream behind!
Ok before I go some tried and tested settings from another forum:
Active Backlight on
Cinema mode on
3d colour mgt on
Backlight 29
Contrast 88
Brightness 60
Color 46
Tint 0
Sharpness 0
Black stretch off
Stable sound on

Colour temp warm
Exact scan when using 1080p source
Ok I must go. To do what? Guess what. Look at the T.V i've only had it 24hrs.
UPDATE. My PS3 arrived with that"spare" £300.00 I saved. I purchased the blu-ray version of Deja Vu without a case on ebay for £7.00 and a 10gb carrying HDMI cable (don't get 5gb) and Oh my Gosh. No turning back. Bye bye DVD's

I checked out the stores first and after watching a high definItion DVD of The mATRIX on this Toshiba I WAS blown away. The store was charging £1,149.99 + £200.00 for 1+2 years cover. Review for D-Vision DL-2210W 22" Widescreen HD Ready LCD TV With Bulit-in DVD Player & Freeview - Piano Black:
Looks very sleek, nice design. Has Scart socket,HDMI input, PC Connector.
Has built-in freeview and is HD ready. And, DVD player built-in !
This is actually two tone design, which is speaker grill part is charcoal grey, and the other parts is Piano Black. Nice.
I use mine linked to the PC, PS2. There is a room at the back of the TV for more gear such as a dvd etc. The tv copes very well with the graphic demands of the PS2. The picture during game play is far better than my old standard CRT TV. I've noticed no blurring to date.
The built in speakers is OK.
Overall
Very impressed, Good price for a good quality ALL IN ONE TV.

Wow!
So i've just got myself a TX37LZD85....And i'm a very very happy bunny. I'm running SD through it & watching std DVD's & it handles what ever you throw at it easily...I can't stress enough that the distance thing makes such a difference i'm 10ft away from the screen and it is perfect.
Set up was simple - plug n play. I haven't had to tweek the settings too much. I recommend the 'cinema' setting with a little brightness to watch the football & the same setting for DVD. I like simple...I'm watching the Chels/Liverpool game now on sky1 and i'm really impressed with the motion pictures... NO BLUR at all!
Can't wait for the Panny SCBT-100 to come out for the icing for the icing on the cake.
PS... the blacks are great, i've just watched 'the brave one' DVD which is noir in places & the blacks are superb. I had it set on cinema setting but added a bit of brightness. TAKE THE PLUNGE!!!!
