Sony KDL26S3000
I bought the 26" Bravia because it was the maximum size that fitted my cabinet (I prefer not to see the TV when it's switched off). After major surgery to the stand, the TV fits snugly inside and cooling has been augmented by a silent computer fan. The delivery by City Link was excellent - arrived next day at no extra cost. Picture quality is superb but I find the sound quality is dreadful whichever mode is selected (no, the speakers are not masked by the cabinet). Switching subtitles on/off is a major feat that requires up to 15 button actuations. Why? Sound can be switched off by pressing a single button, so why not subtitles also? Ratings: picture 5*; sound 2*; overall 4*.4

Brilliant
I eventually chose this model over many others in this size and I have to say it is fantastic-the colours are rich and vibrant, the design is understated, classy and the build quality is great (I prefer the plain black bezel to the tacky piano black bezel other lcd's have) and sound is fine for a 32inch lcd. I have an Xbox360 hooked up and it looks brilliant-really natural colours. In short I would recommend this lcd, no problem.

Good all round tv
This TV delivers a solid all round performance. The built in freeview offers a fairly good picture quality, although I personally find the picture a little dark - you can obviously increase the brightness and backlight levels, but this can make the black levels a little grey. The contrast settings also have to be set quite high to get the most out of the tv (by default it is set to around 92%)Plug in a blu-ray or other high-def device via a HDMI cable and you'll really see what this model can do. Blacks are rich, and colours are vibrant and accurate. For the price it's a must have.

Review for Sony KDL-20S3000 - 20" Widescreen Bravia HD Ready LCD TV - With Freeview - Black:
Previously had a 15" SD Sony Bravia but inevitably this is far, far better. I've just played some PS3 on it with after purchasing a Sony HDMI cable and it really does produce fantastic next gen gaming, very slick. Agree with most of the comments made in other reviews and I'm glad I chose this rather than spending £25 more on the Sony KDL 23" which actually has a lower contrast ratio but mainly because 20" is a very good bedroom/kitchen size.
One thing I will say is that I would have probably bought this in silver rather had they been the same price when I made the order (they are now) as one particularly helpful review stated that the black will show dust far more obviously than silver. However, having said this the black is looking pretty slick and I don't really regret it.
The one disappointment was the Super Saver Delivery by CityLink. I would have to agree with the advice given by another review and also recommend spending the extra £5 postage and packaging as probably being worth it. I say this because it took a week for me to get my hands on the TV and in the end, after making a few calls, I resorted to actually going to the depot and picking it up myself after CityLink attempted to deliver the television and left a delivery card at a different address.
But yes, in conclusion this has been a fantastic television for the hour or so I've had it and oozes Sony quality.

Review for Sony KDL20S3020 - 20'' Widescreen Bravia HD Ready LCD TV - With Freeview -Silver:
Firstly, I know this is a place to put your reviews, and hopefully I will be doing that shortly!
But I thought that as all of you are obviously very satisfied with your Sonys and also the research I have done on the Sony HD Ready LCD tv it looks perfect for my needs.
I was on the verge of buying this tv when it was pointed out to me that if you do not have cable or satellite then you cannot use this tv or that the quality of the picture is far below what it should be.
From the reviews I have read, everyone seems satisfied - does this mean that you all have cable/satellite?
Many thanks for your help

Review for Samsung LE40A559P - 40'' Widescreen 1080P Full HD LCD TV - With Freeview:
I am currently using the built in freeview (just moved house and only have an aerial in the loft at present).
I have to agree that the picture out of the box isn't great, but I had no problems finding picture settings on a few forums - 5 minutes to put them in and the picture is perfect, and thats on SD.
I'm waiting on a new HDMI cable and a freesat box coming through so that I can hook up my PS3 and check out the HD.
I haven't really noticed a major problem with the sound, but then I haven't really watched that much on it as yet, but I would imagine that most people would use a 5.1 theatre system anyway.
Overall, I think it is a great looking tv for the money.

Amazing t.v., very colourful, clear and well built
i recently got this t.v. and have had a about 3 days, the freeview picture is very good consindering it is in standard defintion. i ahve connnected the ps3 to the t.v. with a hdmi cable and the image is amazing, it supports up to 1080i which is very good for a small t.v., but when i say small it is actually a very generous size and great for films, gaming, soaps etc. this t.v. shines the most with anything that involves colour, animation and cartoons look amazing and very vivid,. the t.v. has many ports so it is very flexible and offer many options for the buyer. The sound is way better than the samsung t.v.'s, it doesn't sound tinny and cheap, sony is the cream of the crop for sound as you know.this t.v. is perfect for a bedroom and also a samll lounge. i am so glad i bought this.

I took the decision to replace our old Toshiba 28" monster with this new LCD tv - I am over the moon with it! If you are looking for a decent LCD television you wont buy much better from this price range - go get one!!13

Good for the price
Only 4 stars as there are better LCD units out there (full HD, 100hz etc), but for the price this unit is excellent. I have it in our bedroom and it looks stunning and provides excellent picture quality, even though the unit is not full HD. The SD and freeview pictures are clear and the colours good. Very easy to set up, the plug and play set up system is great. Looks very stylish and the remote is functional if a bit bland. All round an excellent purchase fot the money, as I stated earlier there are better units out there, but not for this price. Also I ordered at 1pm on a Thursday and it arrived at 8.30am the next day (express delivery). Review for Samsung LE19R86 - 19'' Widescreen HD Ready LCD TV - With Freeview - Black:
I did have a few problems setting up the freeview because I tried to scan the channels during the day, and could not find all the major channels such as BBC1,2,ITV 1,2 and several other channels.
I have had similar problems with some freeview boxes and PCs before in that trying to scan for the channels during the day seems to make tuning the channels tricky.
I rescanned the channels after 7 pm and was able to set up all the channels easily.

Simply the Best
After 3 years with a 32 inch LCD Hitachi I opted to change back to Sony. The difference is astounding. The picture is so sharp and clear it is difficult to see the difference when viewing in HD. My only critiscism would be that when you select"Vivid" for the picture mode you cannot adjust the amount of colour! Would strongly recommend this model to anyone who wants the best picture around. I was assured by the Sony Centre in Ipswich that this model was only available through Sony centres! (at £550). I got it at Amazon for £388 plus £5 for next day delivery!!17
Review for Samsung LE32A559P - 32'' Widescreen 1080P Full HD LCD TV - With Freeview:
Their free delivery, on the Sony upscaling DVP-Ns78H took six days. Worse service than a shop, for central London.
Why Buy Samsung: Samsung are LCDTV. They have made for other brands, used to, or still are, to such an extent that without Sharp, the rest of LCDTV is either Samsung or has been in the past. The Series One specification had a fantastically sharp picture. This is Series Five. They are now on Series Six - take note of these Series, they're a problem for you.
Plug 'N Play: The easiest television set up I have ever seen! Takes seconds, makes you feel stupid. Beware of screwing in base. Best to rest on bed and slip it into the gap the right way - use a long shaft phillips, these are deep screws and they do finally close. Much more difficult than start-up menu.
Condition: The highly lacquered frame had two marks on exactly the same place above and below the screen where a holder had kept it steady in the production process - irremovable, poor cosmetic quality control.
Remote Control: Elegant, but stupid. A cheap copy of A Bang and Olufsen it is easy to get it upside down putting the whole tv into chaos just as you want to watch your program.
Sky Digibox with Scart: As good as that remarkable Series One 26", but this is a critical system. Bad in, bad out. BBC One is the worst signal and this tv tells you. It then rises through the list to Channel Five which is DVD standard for broadcast tv via scart. In the main menu I suggest you raise Sharpness to at least 50%, to help the BBC. Use the energy-saving option, too, full-power isn't necessary
Upscaling SONY DVP-NS78H: HDMI picture, truly superb. Sony confirms HDMI connection with bright blue light. Planet Earth and Wild Africa truly fantastic, although this LCDTV has been gentled, to give it that plasma softness. I like pin-sharpness like Series One. Avoid sharpness setting on Sony, it makes the outlines too harsh and shadowy. Cheaply produced dvd's fare less well, panning shots are shown juddery, but these are either old or blue. An irritating aspect of the technology is the lack of depth of field. A firgure in the foreground, Wesley Snipes in Blade, is rendered unnaturally sharp. Someone one step behind far more out of focus than they would be in real life, yet you can see them listening attentively. But who talks to anyone with their back turned? Apart from Londoners who walk everywhere while looking in the opposite direction?
Sound: the sound of this tv is fantastic, especially when playing high-quality dvds through its long-throw speakers. I thought an eagle was flying around my head. It feeds the superb Sony STR-DA1200Es 5.1 beautifully with tight red and white plug connects, and movies from the scart skybox are fantastic, this amp makes the best of anything, but it is a 1080i connection. Five Mordaunt-Shorts, one Nad subwoofer. TV sound is so good at low volumes you can save power and leave amp off most of the time. (The sony upscaling DVD plays music via coaxial fantastically to this amp, by the way, justifying its purchase as a music player alone at £70. Just remember Sony messed up Betamax, Minidisc, Minidisc music, the awful Clie, and ended the fantastic Dimage range of Minolta digital cameras. Vaio are very good, though.
Demerits: The Samsung TV loses all points, really, because there is no SD card reader, and no USB direct connection for computer updates to aid futureproofing. There are idiotic PC monitor connections, wasting space and money - who wants to write a novel or run through YouTube on 32"? The watching of movies online is greatly exaggerated in its consumer appeal. Unless you're the James Bond family. The biggest problem is how the fantastic Series One 26", two years old, became instantly obsolete. It had HDMI alright, it just didn't work. The communication protocols are constantly upgraded and this one will becaome obsolete also. Sony specializes in grabbing defeat from the jaws of victory and if you think Blue-Ray is the end you're mad. This is a 1080 P TV. That is the highest standard. A lot of people are buying HD-ready on the basis that it is the highest standard - not only do these tvs become obsolete, unless the name actually includes 1080P it just isn't the highest standard. What you see in shops is irrelevant - the screens are all set on the shop display mode, what you get at home is better, and many are showing 'specially engineered dvds to make them look good. At £580 this makes Bang & Olufsen unjustifiable, but Harmon & Kardon at Selfridges, even thought it's a shop setting, is demonstrably the highest standard. Recommended, especially for price at 1080P, but I love my analogue radios and cameras - you should try it, analogue may well be the technology of the future! All digital has built-in obsolescence. They can really mess you around with this, just like Tony Blair, who loved it.

Review for Panasonic TX-32LXD85 - 32" Widescreen HD Ready Viera LCD TV - With Freeview:
One major reason most people spend eternity deliberating which TV to plumb for appears to be the desire for that flicker free, ghost free image. So how good is this Image? The 100hz does the job. I live in a house with poor signal strength, infact the old freeview needed an amplifyer to make it work. This set I simply plugged into the ariel socket directly and away it went. Within minutes it had found all channels and was ready to go. The image? Steady as a rock, blacks are really black, colours vibrant. The sd signal can show its limitation if you look for it but the freeview digital is pin sharp and the onbourd tv guide simpicity itself. It is the Dvds that impress most. They are beautiful. Why any one should need"upscaling" is beyond me and at 32" I am confident blu-ray could look no better. For the Microsoft 360 I used the 51 pence Fisual HDMI cable (plus £4.00 postage), to be found elsewhere on Amazon. The result is truly astonishing. It also reveals something about the quality of this LCD. Though this TV is Marked HD Ready and therefore the 360 starts out at 720p by default, going into the xbox setup options and selecting 1080p I discovered the screen does infact do 1080p images as well. What definition! In the days of crt tv's I always favoured Sony but in the LCD era at present, Panasonic leads. Why is it this price? On the High Street this sells at £699. My advice don't let this pass you by.
One tip: When watching TV (or most other sources for that matter), try the Eco setting. It changes the brightness acccording to the ambient light automatically, the picture is always just right be it night or day. For your Dvd's try the Movies setting, they have never looked so good.

Don't let this pass you by!
As most reviews for Lcd's start with,"when it comes to lcd's I spent too much time looking around for that perfect set", I can add that that statement also applied to me. And yet this one still almost passed me by. Am I glad it didn't! Other TV's have dozens of reviews which seems to imply that many more are overlooking it too.It is for this reason I decided to place my first ever review. Review for Toshiba 37XV503DB - 37" Widescreen 1080p Full HD LCD TV With Freeview:
Delivery was a slow process, used the free delivery service (would not recommend as took about a week to get it....longest week ever!)
When it did arrive had a wee panic as noticed on the box that it said HD READY as opposed to FULL HD, checked code etc to confirm it was the correct TV they sent and it was fine. Dont know why this was but its defo Full HD.
Set up was simple, couldnt get the V+ working straight off but a wee call to the help desk and they took me through some simple steps and it was fine after that.
Has everything you could need for an outstanding price, full HD (absolutely breathtaking when playing PS3 games and Bluray movies through an HDMI cable, BBC HD not too shabby too, Euro Champs...magic!), not bulky around the screen edge(i noticed a lot of tellys have speakers attached) which actually makes the screen look bigger.
Standard definition through an HDMI on V+ is a lot sharper than any screen I have seen, programme menu slightly blurry but not a major problem.
Would highly recommend this set to anyone on the market for a 37" LCD TV

Review for Samsung LE22S86 - 22'' Widescreen HD Ready LCD TV - With Freeview:
no no the Tv started getting a strange pink colour on one side and it was becoming annoying !
So I ordered this TV ! The SAMSUNG 22 INCH ! widescreen and my God it delivers everything a man could want all served up on a Huge tray with beef and gravy and sauce and roast lamb and sugar lumps and sausages and chocolate dessert with sprinkles ! MY GOD ITS GREAT .
So I got the Tv on time ( thanks delivery driver ) . One thing that was a bummer was the set up time . It actualy required me to read the instructions. WAHT" i hear you cry , yes yes I had to read something .. it was no plug and play episode like last of the summer wine which is not on at the moment but who cares.
I had to read how to get the digiview thing to work . I had to press a button on the remote called" dTV" MY GOD i believe its the best button I have ever pressed in my entire life. ( I shall explain why )
.. its 1993 my parents by me a Tv for the first time . it has 4 channels .. I cant believe my luck . A TV WITH CHANNELS ! 4 ! I cried myself to sleep that night knowing that my life would never be the same again . no more MR men books for me .. oh no . it would be Murder she wrote followed by Love Joy on a sunday . Then in later years Channel 5's Porn nights would provide me with much needed Material through my teenage years. That TV served me well !
ok anyway .. the DIGIview has soo many different channels it amazing . just absolutely amazing !.
I have My TV hooked up as a 2nd PC monitor . a DVD player . an XBOX 360 seeing device . and as an orniment in my room .

Great product and great service
The tv arrived before I hoped to receive it (amazon gave me an estimated dispatch and delivery time I was still able to get the tv with Super Saver Delivery three days after I placed the order!). It's never been easier to install a tv as I did with this! It took me no more than three minutes to watch all channels (as I don't have external aerial I just connected in the scart sockets the satellite receiver and the cable box). I swithched than on menu by scrolling down to the external outputs than just clicked on AV1 and AV2). Bright colours, good watching from any angles. Absolutely delighted with it.
