Wow

Blimey we'd only vacuumed 2 days before receiving the Animal but all i can say is WOW, the amount of cat hair it dredged up from our carpet (which now looks cream again) made me feel a bit queezy. Heartily recommended for any one with pets

I have just bought this vax machine - the dirt just lifts out without leaving wet carpets. It's excellent for high traffic areas and if you have pets.
The attachment for the stairs is easy to use. Also being able to use it to clear up marks/spills that occur over time with the attachment is really useful.
My carpets have honestly cleaned so well they look new. This is worth every penny.

I bought this as my doggie had made my carpet filthy and I didn't want to go to the huge expensive of hiring floor cleaners to come and clean my carpets.

The Vax really does the job and has brought the carpets up brilliantly.

It has an efficient drying system so carpets are dry overnight pretty much.
It lifts out all hair and dirt.

I would highly recommend this to anyone. Brilliant.

Quiet and efficient

We've owned countless dustbusters in the past and they all seem to die round about the 12 month mark, either by wearing out (I guess my wife scrubs too hard when doing the kitchen floor) or just becoming so bad at picking up dirt/holding a charge that they are useless. We've tried alternatives to Black & Decker and been equally disappointed (not tried the Dyson but the battery life is so poor we're not likely to).

We've only owned this one a few months and it is superb. It's quiet (some other dust busters are horribly loud and the frequency of the noise drove me mad) and the cyclonic action means the suction is good enough to use for real jobs, rather than just the odd patch of dried mud and crumbs in the kitchen.

Time will tell whether it lasts, but so far so (very) good.

excellent vacuum cleaner

This really puts other vacuum cleaners to shame! I bought an LG vacuum cleaner and was disappointed, but this is just great. Dog hairs, food crumbs, everything has no chance against this weapon! just get one. Delivery in 24 hours was also excellent

There's no going back!

I don't know how we managed before Roomba. It's the best thing I have ever bought! Ok it's a little more expensive than a traditionl vacuum cleaner but it does it all for you, so lots of extra free time and no arguing about whose turn it is to do the vacuuming - and a lot cheaper than employing a cleaner. I was afraid it wouldn't work that well, my husband thought I was completely bonkers buying it. But we were both very impressed and love it. I schedule it to vacuum while we'e at work and come home to a beautifuuly vacuumed home. If you live in a house rather than a flat, you can clean the ground floor on Mon, second floor on Tues... You can schedule it all in advance, and let Roomba do everything else for you - it knows where to go, it doesn't bump into furniture, it cleans brilliantly and redocks itself to recharge when it has finished. It's amazing. I have been raving about it to friends and colleagues since buying it 4 months ago.

I would defnitely recommend it, and frequently do...!

Dyson DC16 handheld cleaner is the best in the world.

This little machine is amazing. I fell in love with it straight out the box. Smaller and lighter than it looks in the photos on Amazon (in fact on any webpage- where size is hard to scale) it came with a 30second charge that I immediately took advantage of. Then I charged it for the required 3 hours, delighting in watching the progression of lights as the charge reached full (easily pleased), and how refreshing not to have to charge it overnight or for 8 hours+ like so many other battery powered appliances and gadgets need for their first use.

It feels great in the hand, and as I said before, is lighter than I expected. You have to keep the trigger pressed to vacuum, which isn't as annoying as it sounds as it's well placed and responsive and the handle feels really comfortable.

You'll read a lot about the poor battery life. Work out how you want to use this cleaner and whether that'll be a problem for you. For me it's not. Let's face it you'll never try and hoover all the floors with this, it's perfect for 'dust-busting'. The fact that it's bagless is also a big selling point for me. Let's face it, hoover bags are never cheap, and the bag chambers on regular vacuum cleaners always quickly build up dirt and dust. Great just to hold this Dyson over a bin and release the collection chamber to empty it.

Buying this I've realised that Dyson is one of our few quality companies left. Buy this, you will love it. If you don't then return it!

whistle while you work

after happily owning a dc07 for a number of years, I gave it to my mum and bought this new and improved model
on switching on it started to make a high pitch whine, which became more and more irritating.
I contacted the dyson helpline, who said this 'whistle' is common on the dc14. does anyone else have this horrible whine when using theirs?
dyson told me to give it a week or two, so I could get used to this noise, but I don't see why I should.

I am not impressed by my new machine

Pathetic

Let me just list the grievances.

1. Weak suction, even with 'Max' dial setting.
2. Metal extension tube that constantly falls apart.
3. Hose that's shoddily attached to the the tube holder. In my vacuum, it came off after one month.
4. A supercharged cord rewind that can actually injure you.
5. An unstable design: the vacuum keeps falling sideways.

Life is too short to spend it picking up and re-attaching vacuum tube parts; the device is shortly going to trash, and I am buying a Panasonic.

The Henry

When my old hoover finally stopped, I asked several people what vacuum cleaner they would recommend. The Henry came very high up on the list, so four years ago I bought one. Sadly, the motor blew up a few months ago, so this is the replacement. It is sturdy, works well and is generally more reliable than other makes, but it is not easy to store away and takes a lot of room.

My hand held Hunter

First of all I wish to say how speedily it arrived. I got it within 24 hours of ordering from Amazon. It works fine, and has excellent suction. Although it is lower power than a full size vac, the small size of it makes the suction more concentrated therefore it is stronger. You have to be careful not to put it too near anything that moves, like a newspaper, or the pages get lifted. The only nuisance is that the dust filter needs to be emptied and cleaned every use. On the other hand, it only gets full so quickly because it picks up so much dirt. It's easy enough to empty, but a messy nuisance job, and therefore I will only use it for things I cannot do with my full-size vac. However, I am pleased to have it in the cupboard for those occasions. For the price it is a good buy, and a useful tool to have.....when it's needed. Great to have the power cord (very long)and three pin plug, and not having to worry about keeping it charged. It's neat and small and the cord wraps around it into a tidy little parcel to tuck away.

I bought my Vax Power Jet Pro last week and have used it on my kitchen carpet tiles, a runner, a mat and my passageway carpet, and you can see the difference on all of them. My 'runner' between the front door and inner door was really dirty because people wipe their dirty shoes on it before entering the house, and it's come up like new! - I went over it about three times, so depending on how dirty your carpets are, you may have to go over the same area a few times to get it like new. It's disgusting to see how much dirty water is sucked up. The more you go over the carpets and suck up the water, the dryer they become, and they are only slightly damp and dry quite quickly if you have a warm house.

A few things to watch out for: I noticed that if you don't fix the dirty water tank on the front of the machine properly, it won't suck up, so make sure that the two clips are fitted in properly. Also, make sure you keep your eye on the dirty water tank level, because when it becomes full it won't suck up anymore water. When using the upholstery attachment, make sure you hold it vertically rather than at an angle, otherwise it doesn't suck up the water properly - you need to keep the contact between the attachment and the carpet.

I'm glad I bought this model as it's got an upholstery attachment which is definitely needed for the edges and difficult areas. I didn't realise until I had bought it, that there are FIVE different V028 models, and some models have more attachments than others. My mum has now seen my cleaner at work and she's impressed too, and now she wants one!! It's well worth the buy, considering last year I got a professional carpet cleaner to clean four of my carpets, and it cost me nearly as much as a machine (I paid £99.99 for mine), and I don't think they did as good a job as I've done with this machine.

Does the job

Had this about one month to replace an upright Dyson that was just too bulky. Does the job though I would agree with others that it needs emptying every time you use it. Otherwise, great!

superb value a money

I've always had a cylinder hoover in the past & always thought that going for the highest powered motor was the best option. WRONG! After deciding to try an upright, i decided to go for the vax vs-193s turbo after searching through many, many reviews. I recommend this hoover without a doubt, I am amazed by the suction, even when full it never loses its power. The hose may be shorter than some models but as it is lightweight this is no problem for the stairs.

henry is fantastic!!!!!!!!!!

after buying a series of cheeper vacuums over the years,and being totally fed up with them.i decided to splash out on the henry.everyone i know that has had a henry has given good commemts so i thought,why not???

it is fantastic!!!!!no faults at all.very light to move around,great suction,easy on stairs and a nice smiley face on the front!
comes with mant tools and you can easily purchase more bags.
