Moderately useful

The DC16 accessory kit comprises four items - a soft dusting brush, a stubborn dirt brush, a wide nozzle tool and an extension hose.

The soft brush is quite useful, having slightly softer bristles and a nozzle double the width of those on the combination accessory tool that you get with DC16 so being able to pick up dust more quickly from things like electronic equipment (tops of TVs and such), sideboards and tables. Although the bristles are fairly soft, I wouldn't recommend that the tool is used on things like LCD and plasma screens as there is still a chance that it could scratch them. Uses for the stubborn dirt brush are less obvious as the bristles aren't all that much stiffer than those on the combination tool and don't cover much more of an area, although it is able to collect pet hair and dirt from smaller areas like car floors. Both of these brushes feel like they're made of quite cheap plastic and would break if subjected to any sort of rigorous use; this might be a problem for the stubborn dirt brush in particular.

The wide nozzle tool is probably the most helpful of the items in the kit, the most obvious use for it being for mattresses and larger, non-sensitive areas. It's about four times wider than the combination tool and, when pressed against a flat surface, is able to concentrate the suction more than you'd expect. It also feels slightly (if not a lot) tougher than the brushes.

Lastly, the extension hose is a plastic hose containing a spring similar to that in a Slinky toy, but stronger, so can extend from its contracted length of a little over a foot to a length when extended of around four feet. In truth, it's a bit of a pain holding the DC16 in the one hand whilst straining to reach an elevated area that needs dusting, and leaving the DC16 on the ground isn't an option as it tips over quite readily. The tool does, however, make it easier to get into small spaces such as under beds and other low-down places where stretching isn't so much of a problem.

I can really only see either of the brushes in this kit being used very occasionally, although the wide nozzle tool and extension hose are a better inclusion and you might well get some mileage out of them. However given the price of the kit, I'm not convinced that any of the items are particularly useful or that good value for money.

Powerful blow action

Acquired this little cleaner for its portability and blowing action to clean out dust clogged heatsinks in PCs. After the first few days, it does a great job - very portable - also easy to switch over to the conventional vacuum action to clean out the dust. Very reasonable price.

Absolutely awful

One of the most disappointing products I have ever had the misfortune to buy. The hard floor setting does absolutely nothing. The dial on the base for changing settings for different floor types is just a piece of plastic that does nothing but spin around. I am simply gobsmacked that this made it into production. It's quite frankly appalling.

Clean handheld vacuum cleaner

The item works fine, it also has a booster button for extra suction power. The use time at about 20 minutes is sufficient for most uses around the home. The air coming out of the machine is also cleaner than other handheld cleaners (which may be a plus for people sensitive to dust).

On the minus side, the item is heavier than models from other manufacturers. The carpet attachment also does not seem to be very efficient (although it works, it is just a bit rough).

Overall I am happy to use it, but the 3 starts are because of the shortcomings mentioned above.

Great Bissell Product

This was bought at a great price, which has now been increased by some 100%. Shame Amazon ignored my request to deliver when I was not in Nice on holiday, even tho` I gave them the dates!! The product does just what it says on the box; it is easy to put together and to use. HAve just tried it out on two absolutely filthy rugs, which came up like new. EAsy to use, not too noisy, but it is fairly heavy. Instructions are clear and concise and easy to follow. Looking forward to doing all our carpets, which should be child`s play after those awful rugs.

Excellent, but at a price!

Excellent little vacuum cleaner. Recommended in Which? magazine, and sure enough has lived upto its reputation. I was initially worried about the battery life, but that hasn't really been a problem! I recharge it whenever I remember - which is not very often - but there is nearly always enough juice in it for the 2-second clean-up jobs that I need it for! Light, effective, handy on-board attachments, very easy to clean, and sits pretty in the corner until you need it. The only reason I am ducking a star is the price!! My advice, look for something cheaper as there must be vacuum cleaners out there just as good but at a half the price!!

A KONE OF LIGHT.!!

Very clever bit of kit.
Takes up very little room and is pleasing to the eye.
The only drawback is that the filter gets gets blocked therefore keep a old tooth dry brush handy!
This is the only reason for 3 stars oterwise the unit its self works very well.

George 3 in 1 cylinder cleaner

This is an excellent wet and dry cleaner. It has been around for many years. I have recently bought a replacement, after 12 years of trouble free service from the last one.

The machine is noisy but the suction is consistent and powerful, whether in Wet or Dry use.

Ingenius!! A sweet cheap gift!!

I have no idea what the other reviewer had against this product, Dude it costs only £[...]!!! Anyway this is an effective little gift that works as well as can be expected and is well made.

Perfect as a gift for a neat freak!
